Chapter 104
Chapter 104 Alena
It was my first day of going back to work and I felt really excited I had woken up early to prepare breakfast for both Matteo and I which he seemed to be surprised about because it had been awhile since I had the opportunity to prepare his breakfast. I was finally feeling like myself again after awhile and it was great
Matteo also woke up early today but that wasn't a surprise, he had always woken up early for work. However, he decided to wake up thirty minutes early than usual. "Good morning, baby." He said, leaning in to kiss my check.
My cheeks began to heat up at the feeling of his soft lips against my skin. I smiled at my dear husband before I grabbed a few slices of bread and a scoop of scrambled eggs for him; they smelt delicious and I could feel my stomach grumbling in hunger. "Morning. Would you like a coffee?" I asked, heading to the coffee machine.
"That would be nice. Thank you,"

It didn't take me long to pour him a cup of coffee before handing it over. Instead of taking the cup of coffee and having a sip, he grabbed onto my hand which caused me to move forward towards him. Our bodies were now inches apart until he decided to pick me up and let me sit on his lap.
Luckily enough, I didn't spill the cup of coffee when he had grabbed my hand.
Matteo had slowly placed the coffee down on the kitchen island as he continued to look at me, a smile never leaving his face. It had brought a smile to my own face as well but also a frown because I was a little bit confused at how happy he seemed this morning. "Are you okay?" I asked, wrapping both of my arms around his neck.
He nodded, "I'm good. Why?"
""You're a bit different this morning. That's why I asked,"
"I'm feeling a little bit energetic."
""Why is that?"
"I don't want to jinx it but I feel like our lives are back to normal. I missed our old routines," he replied as he remained smiling, eyeing my every features.
When I first met Matteo, I was always self-conscious whenever he stared at me. At that time, I knew a perfect man like him could never find me attractive even though I had always received compliments about my features but as time passed by, I loved it whenever he stared at me.
He was staring because he admired my beauty. He wasn't judging my imperfections.
I smiled at him, "I missed it, too."
"Nknow you're going to be really busy with work after this and I won't bother you when things are hectic but this time, it's going to be slightly different. We're going to focus on you and the baby more, okay?"
Losing Marco was always going to be a lesson for me because we both knew it was a mistake we never wanted to repeat. I was

too caught up in work and wasn't going to repeat the same mistakes again, regardless of how many workload I was going to have in the future.

I needed to take better care of my own health because that way, we could have a healthy baby as well. I wasn't going to risk
our baby because I couldn't push aside my work. It wasn't worth losing my own child for the sake of my career-it took me years to finally be where I was but it wasn't for a lifetime.
"Okay. We'll do better this time," I replied.
"Great, baby,"
Matteo leaned in, kissing my forehead.
It started as a forehead kiss before he went down to trail kisses down my eyelids, my cheeks, my nose and my lips. The kisses weren't lustful and they were to show how much he loved me, which I knew he could never put it into words even if he wanted to. He could show it better through his actions.
Some men were good at saying things to convince women about how much they loved them. Some other men were good with their actions to show their love. I had always preferred a man who was good with both his words and his actions. I was lucky because I met Matteo, despite not being too good with his words.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
I leaned into my husband, wrapping my arms around his body.
We were hugging each other for a few minutes and I took it as an opportunity to recharge my energy for the whole day. It was going to be a long day at work and I couldn't simply go back home early just because I missed my husband. So, the long hugs every morning was going to make up for it until we were together at night.
"Let's have our breakfast. It'll get cold," I said.
"Just a little bit longer," he replied.
I chuckled, "Matteo!"
My hands were pushing him away but I didn't even have to use much force. He had released me unwillingly because he wanted to have me in his arms. Then again, we both knew we didn't have the time this morning.
We ate our breakfast together until it was time for me to leave.
Matteo had followed me to my car as I stepped in. He had helped me by carrying my bags, putting them on the passenger seat where it was going to be easy for me to reach. As soon as I had started the engine, I pressed the window down and my husband immediately leaned in to kiss my lips.
His lips were like a drug to me, I could never get enough even though I knew I was going to have his lips for a lifetime. Every time our lips touched, I ended up being needy for more.
"You're making me want to stay home," I muttered.
He grinned, "Is it working?"
"I can't. It's my first day back,"
"I know. I'll see you tonight when you get home."
We both smiled at each other for a little while before I gave him another kiss. Then, I began to drove out of the garage and straight down the road, glancing back at my husband a few times. He was going to leave for work later but it didn't matter when, he was his own boss and he had all the time in the world.
BG.
I was in a good mood today and I decided to listen to the music on the radio.
It had been awhile since I felt this energetic.
Staying at home, relaxing and watching a movie was a perfect combination to reduce stress. However, I had gotten bored of doing the same routine for the past few months-1 had worked hard to become a doctor and I had pushed past the negativities to get where I was, I wasn't going to let it all go away The weather was also nice today and I just knew, it was going to be a good day.
As soon as I arrived at the hospital after thirty-minutes of driving due to traffic, I parked my car and stepped out to grab my stuff. It didn't take me long to grab my bags before I locked the car and walked ahead to the entrance, feeling a little bit nervous about what was going to happen today.
It was probably going to be a more relaxing first day of work but I was still excited.
The lobby was busy with different doctors and nurses walking around, some were chilling as they enjoyed their coffees while others were working. I had looked around to see if there was anything different with the hospital but a familiar figure had caught my attention. "Lily!" I exclaimed, smiling widely.
Lily frowned as she looked around, trying to find the source of my voice. As soon as she saw me walking towards her, her eyes went wide and she was already running towards me. "Oh my god, oh my god, Alena!"
I placed my bags down on the ground as we hugged, realising how long we hadn't seen each other.
"You look so much better, Alena." She smiled, "How are you?"
I nodded, "I'm okay. What about you?"
"I'm doing so much better now that you're here. It's been really boring ever since you were on leave," she replied before she helped me with my bags.
We began walking towards the elevator. It didn't take her long to yap about what had happened at work for the past few months that I was gone. I couldn't catch everything that she was saying but I could catch a few key points.
We had met recently but during that time, I wasn't the best.
I appreciated Lily and how she didn't bother to bring that up again. It was better for us to move forward instead of looking back to how things were. Besides, I was returning back to work and I had high hopes for myself-it was going to be a fresh new start even though I knew I had other problems to worry about.
At least, work could be a distraction while I hoped for the best.
We went straight to my office and I could take awhile to settle in.
"I'm really happy to see you again. You really do look great," she said.
I smiled as I placed my bags on the desk, taking a few seconds to let it all in.
"We're going to be working together again," I replied.
"The most exciting part, right?"
"I just need a moment to settle in,"
"Of course. When is your first appointment?"
"In an hour."
"Take your time to settle in. I'll see you for lunch?"
I nodded, "Definitely."
Then, Lily walked out of the room before closing the door behind her.
I looked around my office as I began to settle in, cleaning up a few things and began rearranging my things. As I was almost done with everything, a knock was heard on the door and it didn't take me long to say 'come in' to the person on the other side of the door. "Good morning, Dr. Orlov." the familiar voice said.
My eyes widened, "Zach!"
