Chapter 2685
Chapter 2685
Nollace stopped, turned around, and looked at Roxy, who was walking toward him. His expression looked calm and unconcerned.
“You are Daisie’s husband, aren’t you? I heard that there are some rumors going on between your wife and Mr. Zephir Gosling.”
‘Every man would surely be triggered if he were to find out that his wife has had a relationship with other men, so I’m confident that this man is the same too.’
Nollace loosened the strap of his watch and pretended to be puzzled. “What kind of rumors are you talking about?”
Roxy gave off a sweet and slightly seductive smirk. “I heard that Mr. Gosling had once courted Daisie back then. However, he couldn’t get her to love him back and even regarded me as her substitute. I also heard that they seemed to have a relationship…”
“Do you know anything about defamation?”
Roxy’s expression froze.
He let off a faint smirk. “I know better than you whether my wife and Zephir have had a relationship before this. Besides, I got acquainted with Zephir a lot earlier than you. What makes you think that you’re in the position of slandering my wife in front of me?”
Roxy remained calm. “Then, don’t you doubt them? Zephir loves Daisie so much there’s no way that he’ll give up on her.”
“He’s never in the same league as me.”
Nollace turned around and was about to leave, but Roxy hurriedly stopped him. “But don’t you worry that Daisie will betray you someday?”
Nollace took his cell phone out of his pocket. “Would you like me to tell Zephir what you just said to me? I believe that he’ll handle this matter well for my wife’s sake.”
Roxy was instantly stunned.
Nollace did not even take another glance at her, got in the car, and left.
Roxy clenched her hands into fists.
‘How is this possible? How can he have so much trust in Daisie? And the key is that he even knows that Zephir has always had a crush on Daisie.
‘If Zephir learns what I just said and gets annoyed by them, he’ll probably instantly cut all ties with me. What’s more, if he makes a huge fuss about this matter and things get to Roland’s ears, that will mark the end of my career and myself!
‘Zephir is trying to break up with me, so I can’t afford to lose my other benefactor now.’
Back at Taylorton…
Nollace pushed open the bedroom door and saw that only one light was left on in the room. Daisie was soundly asleep.
He took off his coat, hung it on a hanger, walked up to the edge of the bed, and sat down. Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
But the slight movement of the mattress woke Daisie up almost instantly.
She opened her eyes in a daze. “You’ve come home.”
Nollace lifted his hand to caress her cheek, leaned over, and kissed her. “Did I wake you up?”
She chuckled and responded with a tired face, “Nope.”
Nollace rolled over, lay down, hugged her, and rested his chin on the top of her head. “Go back to sleep already. I’m right here.”
Daisie nestled in his arms and continued to sleep.
After falling asleep, Nollace used her cell phone to send Leah a text message, asking her to ask Zephir
out tomorrow.
Just as Leah was about to fall asleep, she received a message from Daisie asking her to ask Zephir out. At first, she thought it was Daisie, but the tone of the text did not sound like her.
She thought of someone.
[Are you Nollace?]
[Yes, there’s something that I want to talk to him about. Sorry to have to bother you.]
[Okay.]
The next day…
Nollace arrived at the restaurant early and waited. He sipped on his cup of tea until Zephir appeared.
Zephir had received a message from Leah saying that Nollace wanted to see him, and he could more or less guess the reason behind this meetup.
He sat down. “Did you ask to meet me?”
Nollace cut to the chase and asked, “Are you dating that woman named Roxy?”
Zephir frowned. “I did date her before, but I broke up with her a long time ago. What’s the matter? Have you come all the way out here just to ask me about her?”
Nollace put his teacup down and lifted his gaze. “Roxy entered the entertainment industry and got recruited by Tenet. I think you should know about this too.”
“This has nothing to do with me.”
