Chapter 88
Chapter 88
Sierra whispered tenderly in Dorian’s ear, “It’s Gisele and Aspen.”
Suppressing his discomfort, Dorian let out a faint “Hmm,” before averting his gaze awkwardly.
Nonetheless, Gisele’s gaze remained fixed on Dorian. Seeing him casually glance elsewhere, she couldn’t help but feel suffocated.
Aspen gently patted her arm and whispered, “Don’t worry.”
“Gisele, Aspen, what a coincidence to run into you both,” Sierra spoke up, her voice filled with delight as she held onto Dorian’s hand, inadvertently revealing the array of hickeys on her porcelain neck. “Why don’t we take a stroll together and grab lunch afterward?”
Gisele and Aspen both noticed Sierra’s cluster of hickeys, with some barely visible on her V- neck dress that accentuated her cleavage.
Gisele wondered if Dorian sought out Sierra after she left last night because he wasn’t
satisfied.
Upon pondering this, Gisele’s body instinctively recoiled with disgust, prompting her to take a step back. Simultaneously, she and Aspen declined with a firm, “No, thank you. We’re
busy.”
Following their implicit rejection, the two exchanged a meaningful glance.
“Ah, that’s a bit disappointing. By the way, are you two a couple?” Sierra asked, her gaze tinged with envy but her tone gentle. “You both seem very well–suited. Aspen, does Aunt Sandra know
about your girlfriend? Wouldn’t she want you to be with someone who could assist you with your career?”
Aspen met Dorian’s gaze with a smile. “Having such an amazing girlfriend is a blessing.”
He neither confirmed nor denied his relationship with Gisele, nor did he address Sierra’s question about Sandra’s knowledge of his relationship.
Gisele’s hand remained on Aspen’s arm. From up close, she could sense his subtle trembling and even noticed his hand unconsciously picking at his palm.
“We’ve finished our shopping. Mrs. Witham Senior is expecting us at home. We won’t keep you any longer,” Gisele politely remarked, turning to Aspen with a gentle tone. “Shall we head back?”
“Alright.
While Aspen maintained a stoic expression, his body language betrayed his inner thoughts
at that moment.
As the two pairs prepared to go their separate ways, Dorian, typically quiet, unexpectedly broke the silence. “Wait,” he uttered.
Gisele, who was leading the way, halted in her tracks, her back facing Dorian as she awaited his further words,
“Did you just reject Sierra’s invitation to go shopping and have a meal?” Dorian’s question pierced the silence. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
While Dorian stood firm in supporting Sierra, his words also served as a warning to Gisele not to become too arrogant.
After all, he had the power to make life difficult for the Meyer family if he wished.
With her back turned to him, Gisele closed her eyes in despair. Was Dorian truly prepared to let Sierra disrupt their intimate world just to accommodate her, leaving Gisele to wait on the sidelines?
“Gisele,” Aspen murmured, his demeanor calm.
He couldn’t help but feel sorry for Gisele. From his viewpoint, he could see her thick, trembling eyelashes and the pallor of her complexion. She must be feeling very
uncomfortable.
Gisele managed a bitter smile, her voice strained as she tried to sound nonchalant. “I’m fine. You go on ahead. I’ll stay for a meal with them and then head back.”
Her voice reached Dorian as he glanced back
“Head back after having a meal with them?
Was “head back” still a term they could use in their relationship?
A wave of anger surged in his chest. Impatiently, Dorian called out, “Gisele Meyer.”
“I’m here.” Gisele’s body reflexively shivered as she quickly turned around.
Sierra stole a disapproving glance at Gisele, narrowing her eyes as she scrutinized Gisele’s attire.
Despite the scorching summer heat, Gisele chose a conservative outfit, revealing only a hint of her fair neck with a short–sleeved top. She paired it with a navy pleated skirt that reached down to her
calves.
But to Sierra’s surprise, Gisele also had a scarf wrapped around her neck.
