Chapter 1519: Communication
Chapter 1519: Communication
Camille looked at her with a hint of helplessness, her voice devoid of emotion as she said, "Can't you wish me well for once?"
Sienna finally noticed her seriousness and asked with a touch of anxiety in her voice, "What's happened?"
Camille sighed silently and replied, "I don't know either. Ayan left early this morning, saying there's something he needs to take care of. It must be related to Simpson Group."
Sienna understood and immediately called Rex, who was about to leave. "What happened with Simpson Group?"
Rex didn't know either, but he made a call to his secretary.
No matter how tightly sealed certain matters are, communication naturally flows between high-ranking companies, especially when this incident wasn't immediately contained. So, some rumors had already spread.
After finding out the details, Rex responded to the two, "Something happened with the SynergyCon project, the collaboration between Simpson Group, Mario, and Horace from Nores Group." "What happened?"
Rex briefly explained what he knew, but he wasn't clear about the specifics because it had been sealed off.
This matter involved matters of life and death, and it was bound to attract a lot of attention. Coupled with Camille's previous experience with such incidents, she understood the magnitude of the horror involved Camille fell silent for a moment, her gaze vacant, lost in her thoughts.
Seeing her like this, Sienna expressed her concern, "Camille, everything will be fine. Don't worry. Ayan will handle it. Don't you trust his abilities?"
Camille forced a faint smile. Sienna was right, but she couldn't help but worry because this was no small matter. All she could do now was pray that no lives were harmed, only minor injuries were sustained. After learning about the situation, Camille didn't stay with Sienna any longer. She quickly found an excuse and returned to her own home.
Sienna accompanied her to the door and whispered softly, "It's going to be alright. There won't be any problems, right?"
Camille nodded lightly, indicating she understood, and urged Sienna to go back inside before leaving herself.
Back at home, everything seemed normal, but there was a weight hanging in Camille's heart, disturbing her inner peace.
Camille repeatedly checked her phone, wanting to call Ayan, but she was afraid of disturbing him, so she restrained herself from doing anything.
Camille pursed her lips slightly, and even Auntie noticed her downcast mood and lack of focus. Concerned, she asked, "Camille, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Camille quickly shook her head and said it was nothing, just deep in thought.
Camille couldn't hide her emotions, so after hesitating for two seconds, she decided to go and find Ayan.
However, she didn't inform Ayan, nor did she give Kian a heads-up. She simply drove alone to the location of the SynergyCon project. She had been there before the construction began, so she knew the way. Throughout the journey, her emotions were restless and uneasy. She couldn't stop thinking about the incident, not knowing the current situation, which led to her mind and heart wandering into chaotic thoughts.
After nearly an hour's drive, she arrived at the location of the SynergyCon project. Several cars were parked outside, and many people were chatting at the entrance. Camille didn't see anyone from Ayan's team; they must have gone straight inside.
However, Camille noticed that besides the casual chatters, there were also people who seemed like journalists, carrying cameras on their shoulders.
Camille remained in her car, afraid of being recognized and causing unnecessary trouble.
She sat quietly in the car, looking at her phone without any expression. After hesitating for a while, she finally decided to call Kian.
The call went through immediately, but no one answered despite several rings.
Camille furrowed her brow, her expression growing darker.
Just when she thought Kian wouldn't answer, he did.
There seemed to be some commotion on the other end, and Kian's voice came through softly, "Madam, this is Kian."
She knew.
In a calm voice, she asked, "Are you at SynergyCon project?"
Kian was taken aback. He was surprised that Camille already knew about it, probably because of Ayan's mention. Without dwelling on it, he quickly responded, "Yes, I am. Mr. Simpson is here too. Are you looking for Mr. Simpson?"
"I'm not looking for him, I'm looking
for you. I'm currently across the street from the SynergyCon Gate. If it's convenient, could you come out and meet me?" Camille informed Kian that there were many people at the entrance, and she couldn't get out of the car. If it's convenient for Kian, she would go inside with him. If it's not, she would stay outside.
Kian had just finished dealing with the injured personnel and had already sent the car to the hospital. However, those people were guarding the main entrance, unaware of the existence of a entrance and a back door. Many people knew about the front and back entrances, but very knew about the side entrance because it
side
was not open to the public. It was only accessible to the higher-ups and those in charge.
Kian whispered the route to Camille and told her to drive ahead and wait for him while he went to open the gate.
Following Kian's directions, Camille arrived at the side entrance. As soon as she parked the car, Kian arrived and signaled her to drive in.
Upon seeing Kian, Camille couldn't help but ask about the current situation, "How is the situation? Are the injured people in critical condition? Is there anyone...?"
Camille anxiously looked at Kian, but some words halted on her lips.
Kian understood her unspoken words and quickly explained, "Don't worry, the situation isn't severe. Only a few people got injured, and they have already been sent to the hospital. However, the incident has been leaked, and the media is waiting here to get firsthand information."
"What are your plans?"
"Mr. Simpson intends to hold an impromptu press conference later to give everyone an explanation. As for the injured workers, of course, proper compensation will be provided, along with communication with their families."
Camille nodded and then asked, "How many people are injured?"
"Five are injured, two of them lightly," Kian replied in a low voice.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
Camille's expression turned grave. She had already mentally prepared herself, but upon hearing Kian's words, her face grew even more solemn.
She looked at Kian and asked, "With so many people injured, it will surely have a significant impact on this project and Simpson Group, right?"
Kian didn't deny it because it was indeed the case.
Kian spoke again, "Don't worry too much. The CEOs of several companies are currently discussing this matter. The investigation into the cause has already begun, and we should have the results by tomorrow at the latest."
Camille let out a sigh, her voice barely audible.
Kian led Camille into the temporary
office building set up for the SynergyCon project. It had only two floors. Ayan and the others were discussing the matter on the second floor, while the project managers from several companies were on the first floor. The representatives from Simpson Group and Armstrong Corp recognized Camille and greeted her warmly.
Camille couldn't help but ask, "How did something like this suddenly happen?"
