Chapter 2484 Short-Term Crises
Chapter 2484 Short-Term Crises
The battle between the Martial Artists of the Kandrian Empire and the first wave of beasts continued on for quite some time as the former slayed the latter in large numbers. Rui's contributions to the Sage-level front allowed the Sages to experience significantly less pressure, which reduced the casualty rates of all Kandrian forces.
One thing that the Martial Artists found a little difficult to adjust to was taking a stamina-conservative approach to ensure that they had as much lasting power as possible. Battles between martial artists were more common among them, and certainly, most of them had never experienced a battle quite like the one that they were beset with.
Nonetheless, out of all powerhouses in the world, the Kandrian Empire dealt with the first wave of the beast tide the best.
Of course, it helped that they were the furthest away from the Beast Domain than almost any other Sage-level powerhouse in the world, but it was also the fact that the Martial Artists of the Kandrian Empire were not only more numerous but were qualitatively superior to the other Martial Artists of the world. The treasures of the Kandrian Empire proved to be extremely helpful in limiting casualties to the Kandrian Empire to the point where there was absolutely no pressure on the border whatsoever, not having suffered so much as a single scratch. The manifold made all of their Martial Art qualitatively stronger than those of other Martial Artists, while the resources of the Beast Domain allowed for more growth.
While the other powers of human civilization experienced much greater losses, and some, like the Britannian Empire, even experienced catastrophes, none of them experienced anything like the stable war front of the Kandrian Empire.
Certainly, none of them was able to experience the success of not a single civilian death despite the apocalypse that rained down on the Kandrian Empire. It was a truly shocking feat that put the Kandrian Empire at the very forefront of the war between the beasts and humanity.
Much of the powers that surrounded the Beast Domain in the core regions of the Panama Continent had been devastated, even if they had barely hung on. Much of human civilization in that region has been entirely exterminated such that they were entirely overrun by rampaging stampedes that wiped out all human life and human establishment.
A chunk of human civilization had already fallen back into the hands of the Beast Domains.
Once the first wave of beasts and monsters swept over human civilization, the Martial World and the political sphere eventually became enlightened by the same realizations that Emperor Rael had been the first to understand.
This was a war of attrition.
It was a war about who could last longer than the other over a long, grueling conflict.
Long-term survival was the condition for the victory of human civilization. This involved not just resisting the waves of beasts and monsters but also ensuring that each country was able to restore its supply chains.
It didn't matter if a country could fight beasts and monsters if there was no food to eat. That country was doomed until it fixed the latter issue.
The desperation for restoring maritime trade was felt almost immediately in the Great Nam Ocean as a record-high number of ships and other naval vessels entered the waters of the ocean.
Normally, it would take time for such an enormous global shift in the means of distribution of goods and services to take place, but due to the sheer urgency caused by the ensuing apocalypse, the shift occurred within a day as nations turned to the seas to gain access to the most essential goods and services that had almost entirely been blocked off and land.
Unfortunately, the naval and maritime capacity of the world was not able to sustain such an astronomical influx of trade.
Under any other circumstances, the seafaring industry would have been overjoyed to see a surge in the demand for seafaring, but it turned out to simply be far too much that they struggled to undertake even a fraction of the demand for their services. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
There was far too little time to expand capacity.
A single day had passed since the inception of the Beast Incursion.
There was not enough time to do anything except sit tight and survive.
And so, human civilization fought desperately to survive in the short-term against not just the beasts and monsters but also to get their hands on goods and services.
The slow globalization over the span of five hundred years in the Age of Martial Art was now coming to bite human civilization in the ass.
Thirty-two hours since the Beast Incursion commenced, and the Kandrian Empire was the one and only power that remained entirely pristine and unscratched as it always passed.
They were perhaps the one and only force to actually benefit upon the dawn of the apocalypse, for they were in for what was shaping to be a much worse apocalypse prior to the Beast Incursion.
On top of that, the Kandrian Empire had a powerful navy and maritime industry that allowed it to find alternatives to its land supply chains and thus went from the most jeopardized to the safest nation in the entire world. And thus, many powers in the world looked to the Kandrian Empire for help and aid. It is the only nation in the world that could afford to give out help and aid without taking massive risks. Not only did it have the most powerful Martial force in the entire world, but it also had the power of breakthroughs.
If there was any power that had the power to fix this crisis, it was the Kandrian Empire.
And thus, a day and a half after the inception of the Beast Incursion, in a conference hall in the Kandrian Empire, Emperor Rael found himself seated before the virtual projections of dozens of representatives, delegates, ambassadors, and leaders of many nations in East Panama that each desperately longed his help. "Leaders of East Panama," he remarked as he sat down before them. "I have heeded your collective call. Let us commence the negotiations." -
