Chapter 1336 It's Time To Pay Off The Debt
The man laughed softly before taking off his sunglasses and cap. Underneath them was a handsome and angular face.
He was none other than Jeremy.
Lazily, he leaned against the sofa and squinted at Suzanne. He scrutinized her with a dangerous look. "What's going on with you? You brought Vivi's parents all the way here, only for them to be controlled by Janet? Is this how you handle things?" Listening to him made Suzanne's face dim until her expression turned vicious. "What's the rush? I haven't even carried out my backup plan yet!" she retorted. "Janet White! Does she really think appeasing those two old folks is enough? Dream on! Don't worry. I won't go easy on her."
If someone else would hear her right this moment, no doubt Suzanne's malice and vicious words would send shivers down their spine. But hearing this brought merriment on the man's face. He lifted his eyebrows and said, "I'm looking forward to seeing what your next step is."
Suzanne's smile widened. "Don't worry, Mr. Button. I'll gradually lead them into the abyss just like how you wanted them to," she replied.
Jeremy looked even more pleased. "Very good. I believe in you. You can have anything you want as long as you make them suffer. Just ask and I will give it to you," he promised.
With Jeremy's assurance, Suzanne smiled devilishly and gloated, "As for Vivi's matter, with a lift of a finger I managed to ruin Janet's reputation. Her studio is already on the verge of collapse. From now
on, their lives will only get worse."
Suddenly, something occurred to Suzanne. Her expression changed in an instant. With furrowed brows, she asked, "Regarding Vivi's matter, have you handled everything on your end? Brandon has been keeping an eye on me and my company. I'm not in a position to take any risks right now."
At the mention of Brandon's name, Jeremy's face turned ice cold.
Somehow, he resembled a venomous snake lurking in the darkness, spitting out its tongue in anticipation of prey, biding its time to strike.
Suzanne couldn't help but shiver under the intensity of his gaze. Trying her best to act casual, she averted her eyes and asked nonchalantly, "If Brandon finds out anything about the car accident, we may not be able to carry out our plan."
Jeremy sneered with disdain. The look in his eyes turned sharper and colder.
Silence blanketed the room and made the atmosphere almost eerie.
Seeing Jeremy's stone-cold face, Suzanne could only bite her tongue. Anxiously clutching her clothes, she waited for the man on the sofa to reply. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
The silence stretched for a long time. Finally, Jeremy spoke in a measured tone. "Figuring out the real cause of Vivi's death is not that easy."
Relief washed over Suzanne. Still, bits of unease lingered inside her at the thought of Brandon's power and resources. "Brandon is quite powerful. With how thorough his investigation is, he might find out how Vivi died."
With a mocking smile, Jeremy lifted his chin and said arrogantly, "The drugs Vivi took regularly had a side effect that gradually deteriorated her body. Her death was just a natural outcome of the excessive damage caused by drugs. Unless I reveal the truth behind it, no one other than us would
know."
The person taking his medicine would die of "physical illnesses" and it was impossible to trace the drugs. This hidden sight effect was the very reason he felt so confident.
Suzanne couldn't help but feel alarmed, though she didn't voice it out.
Fortunately, she was one of Jeremy's closest confidants and was given higher quality medication. Otherwise, it might be her that was lying in the morgue.
Noticing the fear that flashed in Suzanne's eyes, Jeremy raised his eyebrow and smirked, "What's wrong? Are you afraid?"
Suzanne reeled in the panic that rose in her chest and said in an imperceptible fawning tone, "I really admire your wisdom. Brandon is no match for you even with his power. I doubt he'll be able to find a thing."
Jeremy's expression brightened at what she said. "Of course! Now that I have the Turner Group in the palm of my hand, it's time for me to make Brandon pay for his debts."
The more Jeremy said, the harsher his tone became. The last part, he said with so much hatred.
Suzanne couldn't imagine what happened between Jeremy and Brandon that had driven him to scheme and plot to this extent. How deep was the grudge he was holding?
Suzanne couldn't care less, anyway. Whatever the reason for it, she didn't need to know.
All she cared about was if she and Jeremy could win or if it would affect her status. Other than that, nothing was able to distract her.
Jeremy didn't stay at Star Entertainment for long. Before he left, he instructed Suzanne to put the company in order and warned her not to get caught out by Brandon.
To avoid any slip-ups, Suzanne personally warned each of the Internet celebrities under her management to be discreet with what they said.
She thought about every detail for a long time, but it still didn't erase the worry inside her. So, to avoid any trouble, she transferred all of the pills on hand to a safer place.
