Chapter 1327 Brush Her Hands
Chapter 1327 Brush Her Hands
Arissa was carried downstairs by Benjamin, so she had no choice but to rub her face and the corners of her eyes with her hands.
A hint of amusement flashed in her eyes as she brushed her hands over his body.
Benjamin froze before scowling.
“You said you wouldn't mind!” Arissa looked at him triumphantly, leaving Benjamin at a loss for words.
Benjamin slightly pursed his lips. “As long as you're happy!”
Seeing his uncomfortable demeanor, Arissa's suppressed laughter turned into a guffaw.
Benjamin cast a warning glance at her.
Once they reached downstairs, he gently set Arissa on the couch, then turned around and went upstairs.
Darius, Maryland Edwin came out from the kitchen carrying desserts. Immediately, they noticed Benjamin heading upstairs.
Darius casually asked, “Why is he heading upstairs?”
“To change his clothes!” Arissa replied with a smile without revealing the reason.
Darius and the others didn't mind as they invited Arissa to join them for afternoon tea.
Sure enough, when Benjamin returned downstairs, he had already changed his shirt. Darius saw it and couldn't help but make a teasing remark. “Why bother changing clothes when you spend the whole day at home? This habit of yours hasn't changed at all!”
Arissa chuckled quietly, eating her food while admiring the handsome man.
Benjamin glanced at them but didn't come over. Instead, he headed straight to the study.
“Forget about him, let's eat!” Darius ignored him, knowing that was just Benjamin's nature.
Just as Benjamin entered the study, the sound of an engine dying down came from outside. It seemed like someone had arrived.
“Could you guys help me move these things to the room at the back?” Shaun requested in the distance at someone else.
The others wondered what he was doing.
Darius looked at Edwin and asked, “It's Shaun, right?”
“It seems to be Mr. Bailey. I'll go have a look!” Edwin got up to check.
Arissa also turned her head to look. She didn't know what Shaun and Edwin were talking about before they came in.
“Do you feel unwell after returning home, Arissa?” asked Shaun.
“Nope!” Arissa laughed before inviting him to join them.
He chuckled. “I've arrived just in time, it seems. Where's Benjamin?” Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
Shaun sat down, glancing left and right, but he didn't see Benjamin anywhere.
“He's busy in the study. Do you need him for something?” Arissa asked with a smile.
Shaun paused thoughtfully, glancing at her and the others. “There's nothing to worry about. Remember how Benjamin was concerned that you might feel uncomfortable at home, so he asked me to follow you? Now that everything's fine at the hospital, I've come over!”
Arissa was taken aback. Could it be that the people he had just ordered to move things outside were actually moving the tools of his trade?
“The hospital seems quiet today. Aren't you supposed to be doing research?” Darius asked Shaun, looking at him curiously.
Shaun chuckled awkwardly a few times, too embarrassed to admit that Benjamin had cut off his funding. “I'm putting that on hold for a while. It's no rush!” he said.
Darius knew what kind of person Shaun was, always engrossed in his work at the hospital. Even if the younger man was asked to come home, it wasn't certain he would.
As such, Darius had some ideas about why Shaun suddenly came to Yaleview.
Additionally, Benjamin made a remark that seemed connected to Shaun's behavior.
Hence, Darius asked, “Is Benjamin not investing anymore?”
Shaun looked at him in surprise, giving the old man a thumbs up. “You're amazing, Old Mr. Graham. To think you even guessed this.”
“Benjamin mentioned it!” Darius calmly sipped his coffee.
Shaun glanced at them, then turned to Arissa. “You all know already?”
Arissa nodded and asked with a smile, “Why did he suddenly cut off your funding?”
The corner of Shaun's mouth twitched. Suddenly, he caught the sight of a figure in the study. He pressed his lips together, daring not to reveal anything. I think I should keep quiet about the matter related to the kids. Otherwise, she'll get worried. “He has lost his marbles!”
“Who are you referring to?” A chilling voice echoed, carrying with it an overwhelming force.
Shaun looked at Benjamin with a smile. “I was saying this dessert is delicious!”
