Branch One Hundred and Forty Eight
Alicia and Jason had made up. Jason was open to the idea so much so that he accepted. He confessed to Alicia that deciding to break up was a foolish decision. Since they had made up he stayed an extra night where they spoke about their dreams together.
“Do I have to go back today?” he asked as they stood in the airport. He had taken the night flight so he could spend a little extra time with her all day.
“Must you?” she asked pulling up her cutest face ever. “I will miss you, very much,” she said holding his hands.
He sighed and hung his head. His flight would be boarding soon and he did not want to go. “What if I come to Crescent Bay?” she asked and his head went up as his eyes lit up like a child being offered candy.
“Since we will be moving the headquarters our staff would need to be visiting the town for many meetings and the like so I’ll tag along”
“With every single trip?” he asked.
“If I do that I will barely get any work done at all” she replied. “But I will visit as often as I can”
“What else can I do than propose to you and speed up the marriage process?” he asked staring her in the eyes.
Alicia wondered to herself how he was able to control himself all this while. She laughed to herself and nodded.
“I will leave the proposal to you okay? I hope you can do it soon enough” she whispered.
The first boarding announcement is heard over the speakers and Alicia feels teary-eyed that she would have to say goodbye there and then. She does in for a hug and holds onto him so very tightly.
“I’ll miss you” she muttered close to his ears.
“Same” he muttered back. With so much reluctance she lets go and goes in for a kiss. The people around them watch in awe.
Jessica was so sure that she would see her name plastered on the blogs that night but she did not care. She was not doing anything illegal so it would not hurt her business.
“Bye,” she waved at him as he approached the escalator. She feels tears coming out from her eyes and she does not want to cry, no not here. She watched him leave and watched his back until she could not see it again.
She turns to leave the airport. She was happy with herself. She was happy she was able to sort out the issues with him before he left. She might have been left heartbroken if she could not do it.

“You are home early tonight”
“Xavier had to leave early,” Brian said.
“He has been leaving early these days, maybe something is going on?” she asked.
“Not that I know of,” Brian said yawning. “I am so exhausted so I will be going in for a shower” She watched as he left the living room and climbed up to their room.
She stood up and went after him. “Do you want to order in or should we cook something?” she said sitting on the bed as he shuffled around the room trying to remove his clothes.
“Any you want,” he said and Leslie frowned.
Since they found out that they were not pregnant that month again Brian had been distracted and distant and she hated it. She wanted her husband back. He had said work was what was taking a toll on him but she was not sure anymore.
Was he acting that way because she was unable to get pregnant? “Brian” she called. Brian sighed he knew he was in trouble. She usually called him by his first name whenever he had offended. He could also tell by the tone of her voice.
She sounded firm like she was about to scold him. “Can I at least take a shower first?” he asked like a child who was about to throw a tantrum.
“Okay,” she said as she pursed her lips together and stood up as he entered the bathroom. She turned around and left the room. Shutting the door with all the strength she could muster.
“What is so hard about answering a simple question?” she muttered to herself as she climbed down the stairs.
She had been starving but decided to wait for her husband so they could eat together but it was obvious that he was not in the mood for that. She entered the kitchen and opened the refrigerator.
If he was not going to eat she might as well eat something since she felt very hungry. She saw a leftover pizza that they had a few days ago and she sighed with relief. She pulled out the pizza and took it to the oven.
As she waited in the kitchen for the pizza to get warmed io she scrolled through her social media to catch up on the latest news when a headline caught her attention. The poster claimed to have seen Xavier and his wife kissing passionately.
She knew the situation of things with them and she was wondering if it was true. She knew that if it was she would be glad for her friend but she was worried about the poster. If the person was using the Delgado name to become rich she was afraid of what Xavier would do to the person.
After a while, the oven dinged to signify that her pizza was ready as she tried to stand up to go get the pizza a strong hand engulfed her from behind.
“I need to get the oven” she murmured silently.
“Are you trying to have dinner without me? I refused to go on a team dinner to ensure that I come home to have dinner with you” he whispered into her ears.
“I also waited to have dinner with you but you did not seem interested so I thought to have it by myself” she responded.
“Why won’t I want to have dinner with my beautiful wife?” he asked as he loosened his hand over her and turned her to face him.
“I was just exhausted and I apologize”
“You seem tired a lot these days. It makes me worried. Maybe I have done something wrong”
“You have not”
