Accidentally Married

Branch One Hundred and Seventy

By the time Xavier ensured that Jessica had used the painkillers given to her and that she was fast asleep, he left her to herself and went to ensure that all was good.

Brian informed him that the men were currently locked up in a cell and they were already pleading for their lives. They did not know what hit them because there was no way that Xavier was planning to go easy on them.

He called Richard to thank him and ask him for a favor. Richard was known in the whole city as the man who could get you anything you want when you want it. He had the strongest security detail that one could think of.

“Hello, Mr. Delgado” Richard’s voice rang through when the call connected.

“Hello, Richard. You have done so well today” Xavier commended. He felt weirded out saying that but he knew that if not for Richard he would have still been unable to find Jessica.

“Oh, I only did my money’s worth” he explained. He was a man who could do any legal job for money.

“I need more of your services then”

“As long as you are willing to pay the right price”

Xavier did not care what amount he would call her knew he would be able to afford it. “I need the new security detail you have”

“Oh Mr. Delgado it might cost you a little,” Richard said in a sing-song voice.

“Richard, I can afford it, just get me the best security detail you have, I need able-bodied bodyguards who would be able to protect her with their lives on the line”

He needed bodyguards for Jessica. Seeing the kind of risk that a family member put Jessica into he knew he had to do something. He could not be with her all day and even if it were possible he was not one to protect another. He might need protecting himself too.

He would not take chances again with her life. He learned today how much he cared about her and what it would go to him if he lost her.

“How soon do you want them to resume?”

“Today”

“And I believe they would be on your wife’s tail?” he asked and Xavier modded.

“Yes, and you can throw in one or two for my safety too,” Xavier said.

He was only getting one so he could convince Jessica that it was not that big of a deal to have security. He knew that she would definitely be against the idea of having men follow her around.

“I will send to over and they will be there this evening,” Richard said.

The line went silent before Xavier removed the phone from his ears and cut off the call. He had finished one business now on to the next one.

He called the inspector general of police. He was young to punish those bastards but he needed to punish the one who put his wife in this danger.

“Hello Mr. Delgado”

The inspector general did not expect a call from Xavier since he had received one from his personal assistant. The call sent shivers down his spine.

He had never had an encounter with Xavier but rumors had it that he was a no-nonsense man. Xavier was reserved but maybe it was the money his family had that made people think he was supposed to be naturally ruthless and obnoxious.

“Hello, IG” Xavier said and waited for the man to say something.

“We have begun questioning the men although they have been unable to give us any useful information,” the man said with a little stutter.

Why he was stuttering was a mystery to him. He obviously wanted to get on the good side of the richest man in the city.

“Okay that’s good,” Xavier said and waited. The man may have more to report. After a few seconds of silence, he spoke instead. “Have you been able to get the current location of the woman who put my wife in this mess?”

“Not yet sir,” the man said uncomfortably.

“I hope you can locate her as soon as possible. Where was her last seen location?”

“On the edge of the city in the Rolander close,” the man disclosed.

“I know you will have to locate her by tomorrow” Xavier’s tone told the man that he was not giving him an option of getting the location of the woman. He was simply saying he needed her location by the next day and he did not care about the method they used to find it out.

“But sir, is she not a relative of Mrs. Delgado?” the man asked.

“If a relative aids kidnapping are they not guilty in the eyes of the law?”

“Oh no sir, that is not what I meant to say” he stuttered again.

“Okay then, I hope to receive favorable feedback tomorrow, have a lovely night’s rest”

The inspector General was not sure if Xavier was being ironic with how statement. The orders he had barked out of the phone meant no sleeping for him and his men. Who would want to get on the bad side of the almighty Delgado?

“And you too sir”

Xavier cut off the call and walked out of the room to the kitchen.

“Young master, how can I help you?” Roselle asked as he entered the kitchen.

“I came in here for a drink” Xavier replied.

“Let me get that for you” she responded as she walked towards the refrigerator.

“You know I am so happy you have Jessica in your life since she came to you. I have seen a significant change in your attitude” she said as she took a glass.

“And when I talk about change I am talking the good kind. The kind that makes you loveable like when you were a child” she added dropping the glass on the counter and him walking to pick it up.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

“I am truly grateful to her,” she said as she turned to drop the jar into the refrigerator.

“I am too”
