Chapter 68
Ace’s PoV
I’m staying in my room while Unice is in hers; I told her to stay in her room because I will delete everything that has been recorded to the CCTV Camera and ensure all evidence is cleared out. If the authorities apprehend me, I’m sure a detective will investigate my home and search my computer.
While waiting, I stood up from my seat and picked up the CCTV Camera in my room, which was the only one, placed it on the table, and exited the room.
Taking down all of the CCTV Cameras in the kitchen, living room, pool game room, library, and my old room, Unice room. Before I enter, I knock on the door and see her using her phone, which appears to be texting Zoey, her friend.
“Unice, I’ll remove the CCTV Camera here,” I told her, and she nodded. I walked to her bed and picked up the CCTV Camera installed near her, cutting the wires.
After cutting the wires for all the CCTV Cameras I removed, I exited Unice room. I went out of my house to my garage to get a ladder, and I removed the CCTV Camera at the entrance and placed it in the box with the rest of the CCTV Cameras I removed from my house.
I returned to my room, set the box down, and took up a hammer, smashing all of the CCTV cameras. After that, I smirk and look at my PC Monitor, where the permanent delete for all video records has already been deleted. I also deleted all the files I had saved on my computer and reformatted them; I know everything without having it in my hands; it’s all in my memory, and no matter what they ask, I will not respond.
“I heard the noise, Ace. What did you do?” I heard Unice’s voice, and she entered my room, and I returned her gaze.
“I destroyed all CCTV cameras; do you require anything?” I asked her, and she looked at the computer.
“You deleted all the important files, including the recorded video. Did you reformat your computer?” Unice blurted, and I picked up the box because I’m going to throw this broken CCTV Camera somewhere where it won’t be found.
“I need to delete everything because if I get arrested, they will ask me many questions and use this as evidence,” I explained to her, closing the computer after deleting everything.
“Come with me; I’ll throw this broken CCTV Camera,” I said, and she nodded.
We left the house, and as we walked, she became surprised when we arrived at the falls, and she and I both stopped.
“What made you stop? Do you recall anything?” I question her because I know she remembers jumping here without hesitation.
“Yes, I remember jumping here, and thank goodness I didn’t drown,” Unice remembered. I nodded, throwing the broken CCTV and the box before facing her.
“Let’s go back to my house. We’ll prepare for tonight,” I advised Unice, putting my arm around her shoulder as we began to walk back.
When we arrive at my house, Unice enters. First, I take out my phone from my pocket and dial Max’s number, which he answers immediately.
[Good day, Ace. Everything is ready to go to the new basement we purchased. The house for Unice is almost ready because I need to sign the contract,] Max explained, and I looked around my house.
“Thank you for doing that, Max; if I sign the contract for the new house, Unice will be suspicious, which is why I asked you to do this,” I said to him as I walked over to the front door of my house.
[The money you save by getting a new credit card and debit card with the Unice name was ready also,] Max continued, and I nodded; I would inform Unice about this.
“It’s enough for her living expenses, and if she earns money for my company, everything goes to her. Please keep me updated if you leave the old basement without leaving any trace,” I advised Max.
[Copy that; I’m going to hang up now. If anything comes up, I’ll call you.] Max responded as he hung up the phone.
I entered my house and looked for Unice; I found her in the living room and approached her; she was texting again, so I sat beside her on the sofa.
“Unice, I have a new house and a new credit card with your name on it. You will move if I get arrested tonight. Everything is ready. Max and my other friends will help you out,” I explained to her, and she was speechless, but this is for her own good and will be for the better.
“Really? That was quick; I’ll be living in a new house without you; is it far from here?” Unice inquired, and I shook my head.
“You have Max to fetch you when you go to work, and I have already advised my employees to treat you with respect as they do me,” I added, and she was stunned.
“Work? Did you already transfer your position to me?” Unice inquires.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Yes, I transferred it earlier, I announced it to my employee, and they are not angry or unfair about it because they are afraid of me,” I replied as she laughed.
“My position is CEO? Then I will meet a variety of people when I start working at your company. I know this will be a challenge, but I will do my best to run the company you have built,” Unice assured, and I nodded. I then touched her hand, and she was ready for whatever was to come.
“You will serve as interim CEO. I brought the contract with me, and I need you to sign it,” I said, standing up from my seat.
“Let me get that contract,” I said, leaving the living room for my room.
I pick up the document where the contract is; I return to the living room and give it to Unice with a pen. She read it first and then signed the contract.
“Will I present this to the company?” Unice inquired.
“Yes, you will bring that to my company as proof that you are the new CEO,” I replied, and she nodded as she returned the contract in a brown envelope.
“First, I need to prepare my bags and put them somewhere. I can easily find it. I almost forgot,” Unice remembered as she stood in her seat.
I got up from my seat and looked at the clock; it was already 4 p. m.. I decided to go to my room and get my black suit. I put it on and then put on my black pants and black shoes before putting on my black gloves and black mask.
I’m not going to fight for long; I’m going to choke or strangle him. After I fix my suit and pants, I look in the mirror and grab the combat knife from my drawer. I exited my room and saw Unice, who was already dressed in the maid outfit and smiling at me.
“You need to put something on my hand to prove that I, too, am a victim,” Unice pointed out as we walked to my room.
When I put the handcuff on her, I notice the missing engagement ring. Unice was taken aback by what I had just done when I touched her left hand and kissed it.
“I take off the ring because it will be suspicious if they ask where it came from,” Unice reassured me, and I nodded as we both prepared.
“It’s fine, but you’ll wear it after everything is finished here,” I said, and she nodded.
“Do you want me to cook for our early dinner?” I asked her a question, and she nodded.
“Please, yes! That would be fantastic; let’s eat before we begin your plan,” Unice suggested, and we exited my room and went to the kitchen. I think this would be our last meal together.
