Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

Chapter 26

Chapter 26

Liam didn’t bother with subtlety as he said bluntly, “Miss Woland, I’ll need your fingerprints. Please cooperate with me.”

Immediately, Alice knew that this person was here to have her fingerprints compared with the ones dusted off the handcuffs.

Seven years ago, in order to escape, she had handcuffed that man to the bed. She also clearly remembered that when she pretended to be unconscious seven years ago, someone slipped into her room to duplicate her fingerprints, proving that that man was already suspicious of her at that time.

However, it was clear that her prints didn’t match. Otherwise, that man would have found her a long time ago.

But why does he want my fingerprints again seven years later? She wondered.

In the room, Archie and Apollo grimaced slightly when they heard Liam’s words at the door.

What was going on here? This person was being too arrogant by coming unannounced and demanding her fingerprints, wasn’t he? So who the hell was he?

“You want my fingerprints? Who are you? Why should I give my prints to you?” Despite her shock, she kept ironclad control over her facial expressions.

“You don’t have to know who I am, Miss Woland. My task is to obtain your fingerprints, so please cooperate with me.”

The straightforward man had never beaten about the bush in his work; he didn’t want to, nor was he capable of weaving up a complicated excuse to fool others. So, he always used the direct approach when dealing with his targets.

Meanwhile, Archie’s temper flared up by his terrible bedside manner. Who the f*ck is this guy? Is he here to ask for a beating?

At first, Apollo frowned, then he broke into a smirk. His mother was merely acting like a meek, docile kitten. So what? Did these people really think that she was a weak pushover?

Caleb, who had just stepped out of the elevator, felt a shiver running down his spine when he heard what Liam said, and he almost stumbled. Damn, the way Liam does anything is still as direct as ever.

Because of how Liam carried out his tasks, no matter what job he was given, he would do it quickly and efficiently. Yet, the completion rate of his duty also highly depended on his targets.

This is Miss Woland we’re speaking about, the one who had probably spent the night with Mr. Knight, Caleb thought silently. If Alice was the person who spent the night with Ethan, handcuffed him to the bed, and escaped without getting caught. Then, with Liam’s attitude right now, Ethan did not need to do anything before she taught him a memorable lesson.

As he sneaked a glance at Ethan, he noticed that he was staring right at her door. He also halted in his tracks as he remained standing on the spot, hiding away from her line of sight.

Due to their location, they could get a clear view of her room.

It hit Caleb that Ethan was planning to ‘watch the show’. He intended to use Alice’s reaction and response in order to deduce whether she was the person he was looking for.

Even Caleb was terribly interested to know how things would turn out after this.

“How do you want me to cooperate with you?” She couldn’t risk Apollo’s identity being exposed and didn’t want to cause trouble in the hotel, either. After a brief deliberation, she decided to cooperate with him.

That person suddenly came to retrieve her fingerprints again after seven years; it would arouse his suspicion instead if she didn’t play along. As for other things… Well, she would think of a way afterward.

Meanwhile, Ethan, who was nearby, narrowed his eyes at her. Why is she so understanding?

Liam sensed her cooperativeness and immediately took out the stuff he had prepared beforehand to copy her fingerprints. “Just press a few of your fingers here.”

Alice didn’t bother refusing, nor did she show a hint of hesitation as she did as Liam requested. She even did all ten fingers. Then, one by one, she pressed all of them down.

Liam was cautious in his work, to begin with. In addition, Caleb reminded him several times before he came, so right now, he didn’t dare to blink even once as he watched Alice intently. He focused on her every move until they were all done.

He made sure that nothing was missed out, and there was absolutely no mistake.

When Alice was done with all this, the edges of her lips curled up slightly into a soft sneer. Great, he didn’t leave me any way out at all.

After she was finished, she slammed the door shut, leaving Liam outside.

Nevertheless, her rude actions didn’t bother Liam in the slightest. Although she shut him outside, he was only here to carry out Ethan’s assignment. As long as he completed the job, anything else didn’t matter.

“Mr. Knight, Miss Woland was so cooperative!” Caleb was slightly startled as the outcome didn’t play out as he expected.

If she were really the one Ethan was looking for, she would know why someone was asking for her fingerprints. Since she tried so hard to escape seven years ago, she wouldn’t have given her fingerprints so freely.

That day, Liam stopped her outside the elevator on the first floor, so she had definitely seen him before and knew who he was. Since she had tricked Liam in order to escape, why was she playing along now?

Meanwhile, Ethan remained silent, his deep-set eyes squinting slightly. Although he was a small distance away, he could still clearly see everything at the door from where he was standing.

Just now, he had clearly seen her press down all of her fingerprints. He was sure that she was the one who did it and she didn’t do anything in secret. Furthermore, she couldn’t have done anything with Liam watching her like a hawk.

She had really given her fingerprints, so there could be no mistakes from the prints. If it was indeed her, they could confirm the results of the fingerprint comparison right away after they matched.

But if it was really her, would she be so cooperative?

Suddenly, Ethan chuckled. If it was really her, with her brilliance, she knew that she couldn’t avoid this since Liam already came knocking at her door. Since she can’t run away from this, she might as well just give him what he wants.

She was a sly little fox indeed! She was brilliant and knew how to pick her fights!

Caleb reckoned that they might have made a mistake because Alice’s attitude right now was bizarre. “Mr. Knight, maybe she’s not—”

However, before he could finish speaking, he met Ethan’s cold eyes and was instantly silenced.

A tremble ran through his knees, and he quickly changed the topic. “We have her fingerprints and can make a comparison right away.”

Whether she was the one or not, they would find out once they completed the fingerprint comparison.

At the same time, Liam was walking over with Alice’s fingerprints which he had just obtained. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

“Send the prints over to Derek. I want to see the results in the shortest time possible,” Ethan instructed. Since they already had her fingerprints and he had witnessed the whole process, there could definitely be no mistake.

So, he just needed to wait for the results, and the truth would come to light.

“Okay.” Liam had always carried out Ethan’s orders unconditionally, and even though he still didn’t understand what exactly was going on, it didn’t prevent him from carrying out his assignment.

“Go now, hurry.” Caleb understood Ethan’s feelings right now, and honestly, he wished to see the results as soon as possible, too. If Mr. Jenkins is the one doing this, the results will be out real soon. After all, he’s a professional!
