CHAPTER 40
Amber’s POV
Dale and I drove up to his beachfront property in Bradfordshire, excited to spend some time away from the stresses of daily life. As we walked through the front door, I couldn’t help but admire the stunning views of the ocean.
The house was beautiful, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light and a spacious living room that was perfect for relaxing. Dale showed me around, pointing out all the different rooms and amenities, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful for his generosity.
We spent our days lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun, and enjoying each other’s company. It was nice to finally have some quality time together, away from the chaos of our daily lives.
One evening, we sat on the balcony, watching the sunset over the ocean. As we talked and laughed, Dale leaned in and kissed me softly. It was a tender moment, and I couldn’t help but feel happy and content.
While we were watching the sunset over the horizon, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of peace and contentment wash over me. Dale was sitting next to me, his arm draped over my shoulder, and I felt safe and secure in his embrace.
“Thank you for bringing me here,” I said, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between us.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Dale turned to me and smiled. “Of course, my dear. Anything for you.”
I felt my cheeks heat up at his words, and I looked away, suddenly feeling self-conscious.
“I’m sorry about earlier,” Dale said, his voice low and hesitant. “I shouldn’t have kissed you like that. It was wrong of me.”
I turned to him, surprised by his words. “No, Dale, it’s okay,” I said, placing a hand on his arm. “I wanted you to kiss me.”
Dale’s eyes widened in surprise, and then he smiled. “In that case, can I kiss you again?”
I nodded, feeling a rush of excitement and anticipation. And then, as the sun disappeared beneath the horizon, Dale leaned in and kissed me, his lips soft and gentle against mine.
Then, he suggested we should head back to his room. As we made our way to Dale’s bedroom, my heart was racing with anticipation. I knew what was about to happen, and I was both excited and nervous at the same time.
Dale led me into the room and closed the door behind us, and then he turned to me and took me in his arms. He kissed me again, his lips pressing against mine with a hunger that left me breathless.
We stumbled towards the bed, and then Dale lifted me up and laid me down gently, his body pressed against mine. He kissed me again, and I felt his hands on my body, exploring me with tenderness and care that made my heart swell with love.
At that moment, nothing else mattered. Not the worries and fears that had been haunting me for so long, not the pain and heartbreak I had suffered at the hands of my husband. All that mattered was the love I felt for Dale, and the pleasure and happiness he was bringing me at that moment.
And as we made love, I felt myself surrendering completely to him, giving myself up to the passion and desire that consumed us both. It was like nothing else in the world existed, and all that mattered was the love that we shared, and the happiness that we were bringing each other at that moment.
After we had satisfied each other’s needs, Dale and I lay in bed together, our bodies entwined, and our hearts beating as one. I felt a sense of contentment and happiness wash over me as I lay there with him.
“Are you okay?” Dale asked me softly, running his fingers through my hair.
I nodded, feeling a smile spread across my face.
“Yes, I’m more than okay,” I replied. “Being with you like this is all I’ve ever wanted.”
Dale smiled back at me, his eyes shining with love.
“I feel the same way,” he said. “Being with you is everything to me.”
We talked for hours, sharing our hopes and dreams, our fears and insecurities. It felt like we were connected on a deep, spiritual level, and I knew that I never wanted to be apart from him again.
As the night wore on, we fell asleep in each other’s arms, our bodies intertwined and our hearts beating as one. I knew that I had found my soul mate in Dale, and I was grateful for every moment that I got to spend with him.
For a moment, I forgot about everything else. All my worries and fears faded away, and I was lost in the moment, lost in the sweet embrace of Dale’s arms. It was like nothing else in the world mattered, and I was content to just stay there, in his embrace, forever.
But even as we enjoyed our time together, there was a nagging feeling at the back of my mind. The bruises on my arms reminded me of the reality of our situation, and I knew that I couldn’t ignore them forever.
As the days passed, I found myself growing more and more anxious about returning home. I didn’t know how much longer I could keep up the facade, pretending that everything was okay when it wasn’t, but for the moment, I pushed those thoughts aside and tried to enjoy the time I had with Dale, hoping that maybe things would get better in the future.
Actually, I was taken aback by Dale’s sudden show of kindness. After all, he was the same man who had threatened me and taken me away from my husband without his knowledge.
The next morning, Dale and I sat down at the dining table for breakfast. As we ate, we talked about our plans for the day.
“So, what do you want to do today?” Dale asked me.
I shrugged, smiling. “I don’t know,” I said. “Maybe we could go for a walk on the beach, or explore the town a little?”
Dale nodded, looking thoughtful. “That sounds like a good idea,” he said. “But first, I wanted to talk to you about something.”
I looked at him, feeling a sense of trepidation. “What is it?” I asked.
Dale took a deep breath, looking serious. “I know that this is so sudden,” he said. “But I wanted to tell you that I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
I felt my heart skip a beat, my eyes widening in surprise. “What?” I said, my voice barely a whisper.
Dale smiled, taking my hand in his. “I mean it this time,” he said.
I looked at him, feeling tears well up in my eyes. “I love you too,” I said, my voice breaking with emotion. “I want to be with you forever too.”
But as I sat at the dinner table, savoring the delicious food he had prepared for me, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for his hospitality.
As we ate, Dale talked about his life in Claybourne after I got married. He was talking a lot but I was not listening to him. I was focused on his face. He was so captivating, so alluring, and I could not help but feel a flutter in my chest every time he would smile at me.
After breakfast, Dale took me outside and showed me the garden. As we walked, he reached out and took my hand, sending a shiver down my spine. And then, before I could even react, he leaned in and kissed me passionately.
But then, as quickly as it had started, it was over. Dale pulled away, a sheepish grin on his face, and I was left standing there, wondering what had just happened.
“Is there something wrong?” I asked.
“Jacob told me to send you back to your husband. I am sorry, Amber. I will go to you again,” he said.
