Her Return, His Regret

Chapter 58~ Regret

Ryan glanced at Lora, a million emotions swirling in his eyes. He swallowed the lump in his throat and said in a low voice, "I don't believe you."

Lora scoffed and replied, "You don't need to. Jason is the man I love and chose to marry."

Ryan fell silent, the lump in his throat growing bigger. He looked at Lora and took a step forward, getting closer to her.

He could feel his heart racing in his chest, Lora's scent seeping into his nostrils the closer he got.

"I don't believe it because I can't see it in your eyes, Lora. You see, you don't look like someone who's in love right now," Ryan said in a low velvety voice.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

Lora sneered and looked up at Ryan. She questioned, "Who are you to say that? What right do you have to claim I don't love the man I'm dating?"

"I may not have the right but I can prove it," Ryan said and before Lora could tell what was happening, he held the back of her neck before capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.

Lora froze, her heart pounding like a galloping horse as Ryan's lips moved smoothly against her lips. He was gentle this time, careful even. It was like he was pouring his longing and emotions into the kiss, causing Lora's breath to hitch. For a moment, Lora's mind felt hazy, unable to focus on anything. The warmth and the passionate way that Ryan kissed her stirred something within her. Something dangerous and it sent alarm bells ringing in her head.

She came back to her senses and her eyes widened when she realised what had happened. Ryan kissed her and without realising, she had slightly kissed him back.

'Oh my God! What am I doing?' Lora mused in horror.

Just before she could push Ryan away, he pulled back on his own and licked his lips, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips. He looked at Lora and asked huskily, "If you really loved Jason, then why did you kiss me back just now?" "Ryan you-" Lora hissed, her blood boiling. Her face turned red from embarrassment and anger. "You're such a jerk!"

She glared at Ryan before walking away, her heart pounding rapidly in her chest.

Ryan let out a low chuckle. He raised his hand and swiped his thumb over his lower lip, still feeling Lora's lips on his.

Why did he feel so strongly for Lora? Whenever he saw her, he couldn't help himself. He always wanted to hold her... kiss her. He also hated seeing her with another man and it killed him with jealousy.

He thought about how Lora was making male jewelry for Jason and his heart clenched with jealousy. The sight of Jason annoyed Ryan for some reason. He didn't know why but he kept seeing a familiar face in him. Did he know him from somewhere?

Meanwhile, Lora bumped into Ivy

and Jason who seemed to have followed them. Her heart skipped a beat and she instinctively looked back to see whether they had seen anything or not. en

A guilty feeling crept into her as she glanced at Jason and suggested, "I think I'm done here. Let's go."

Jason's eyes fell on Lora's lips and noticed how her pink lipstick was smudged. He swallowed empty air and clenched his hands into fists.

When he saw Ryan follow after Lora earlier, he had an inkling that the latter was up to something. He didn't expect him to kiss her.

Although Jason's blood was boiling, he forced a smile and held Lora's hand, saying, "We can come back later if you still need to go around."

Just as he said that, Ryan appeared behind Lora. His lips had faint pink lipstick smudged all over them, more evidence of what had transpired between him and Lora.

He smirked and glanced at Jason smugly, his heart content at the look on Jason's face.

Jason saw this and didn't say anything. He pulled Lora to his side and said, "We are leaving now. I hope you find what you were looking for and I'm wishing you a happy marriage."

When he turned and led Lora away, Ryan's gaze followed them, his eyes darkening slightly. Did he have to mention that damned marriage at this moment?

At the same time, Ivy noticed the faint pink lipstick on Ryan's lips and recalled how Lora's lipstick was smudged. A flare of anger rushed through her heart.

'I hate you, Lora! Ryan still loves you even though he just met you!' She said in her mind.

Ivy couldn't fathom how Ryan could

be attracted to Lora even though he couldn't forget his ex-wife. Could it be because she's Larisa and his body remembers her? Or maybe he was interested in her because she had Larisa's face?

It didn't matter anyway... Ryan wasn't supposed to love anyone else but her However, Ivy knew she had lost his love a long time ago. Ever since L

Larisa came into Ryan's life,

everything changed.

Ryan didn't notice Ivy's vicious expression, his attention was fixed on Lora and Jason as they left the area, his eyes narrowing in deep thought.

Seeing Lora leave with another man left a bitter taste in his mouth. He felt like he had lost something more precious than gold.

A sudden indescribable feeling of regret crept into him as he glanced at Lora's back.
