Chapter 741
Chapter 741
Damian had waited for three whole years before finally getting what he wanted—a little sister.
It wasn’t because he was overly eager for a sweet little sister. Instead, by some strange twist of fate, almost all the family members around him gave birth to little boys.
Two years ago, his Uncle Blake and Aunt Lisa had a baby boy named Ethan Winthrop. Last year, his Uncle Frank and Aunt Raquella had a baby boy named Liam Joneson. In addition to Cameron, that made a total of four boys.
Cameron was reserved, Ethan was aloof, and Liam was just a bundle of energy. To Damian, a cheerful and outgoing boy, they all seemed rather uninteresting. He wished for a gentle and cute little girl to follow behind him and call him ‘Damian’ in her adorable voice. Just the thought of it could make him smile.
Finally, this year, his godmother, Yelena, gave birth to a little girl named Alice Damazio. He was genuinely overjoyed to have a little sister after waiting for such a thing.
On the first day Alice was born, he held her and spun around, his happiness evident.
Soon, he even voluntarily took on the responsibility of taking care of her and became a sort of babysitter. Although he was only six years old, he was a natural at looking after her. Soon, he could care for her as skillfully as an experienced babysitter.
As he looked after her, he witnessed the moment she started learning to walk.
Most importantly, since he had been caring for her so often, her first spoken word was ‘Damian’. This made him incredibly happy. As a result, he couldn’t bear to let go of her.
Alice’s eyes were round and shiny like grapes, making her look utterly adorable.
“From today onward, you’re my most important little sister. If anyone dares to bully you, I won’t let them get away with it.”
The name ‘Alice’ meant noble and demure. Unfortunately, she was nothing like that. However, he didn’t mind it at all. After all, she was his little sister. Even if she was unruly and domineering, he would be more than happy to take care of her.
Time passed, and she reached the age to start elementary school. On her first day, Damian enthusiastically volunteered to take her to school.
At that time, he had just entered middle school and looked intimidating. He stood at the entrance of Alice’s classroom, exuding an intimidating aura that made everyone around him hesitant to speak.
“I am here to warn all of you.” His gaze swept around the classroom before he slammed his hand on a desk in front of him. “Alice is my sister. If any of you dare to bully her, you’ll be defying me. I’m in the neighboring middle school. If anyone has a problem with that, they’re welcome to come find me.”
Although the first graders might not have understood everything he said, they got the message that the cute girl with two ponytails was being protected by someone fierce. So, they dared not misbehave around her.
After school, Damian immediately rushed to the first-grade classroom. When he saw his little sister, whom he had pampered since she was little, standing before him with a well-behaved expression, his heart melted from the cuteness.
Everyone knew that he had been a sis-con since he was young.
“How was school today? Did anyone bully you?” He bent down to take the small backpack hanging from Alice’s shoulder and reached out to rub her soft and fuzzy hair.
“No one bullied me today, but a boy gave me a letter,” she answered his question obediently, unaware that his expression had turned as dark as pitch when he heard that.
“What? Where’s the letter?”
She pointed at her small backpack. “The letter is in my textbook in the bag. That boy gave it to me during class. I was shocked, so I put it into my book.”
He quickly retrieved the letter after hearing about it and read it from start to finish. His previously somber expression turned even more frightening.
The handwriting was crooked and messy, resembling that of someone who didn’t know how to write. Most importantly, he couldn’t even spell the word ‘like.’
“Who wrote you this letter?”
Even though Alice was caught slightly off guard, she still answered Damian honestly, “It’s a boy in our class named Caleb. Oh, today is his turn for cleaning duty. He should still be in the classroom.”
After she mentioned the name, he rushed back to her classroom like a gust of wind.
When she saw that, she felt as though she had caused some great trouble and hastily dashed after him.
As she reached her classroom door, she saw him swinging his fist and fiercely aiming for Caleb’s face. “How dare you try your chances with my sister? Do you have a death wish?”
He didn’t hold back at all, and Caleb was hit in the face. As a result, his face immediately became swollen.
After all, Caleb was just a first-grader. So, when he looked at Damian, who had just entered the first year of middle school but already stood at a height of 5′ 10″, he couldn’t help wailing like a banshee.
“I didn’t try anything with your sister. I didn’t do anything. I just wrote her a letter.”
“Do you know what you wrote?”
Even though Caleb’s writing was worse than a chicken scratch, Damian, who was already familiar with matters of romance, could immediately tell that it was a love letter.
“Writing a love letter to my sister? She’s so young, and you want to corrupt her?”
When Caleb saw Damian’s fierce reaction, his feelings for Alice completely withered. “No, I’m not interested in your sister at all. Please spare me. I promise I won’t write anything like this to her again.” Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Alas, Damian became even more infuriated instead of appeased. He clenched his fist and said, “What do you mean by that? Are you saying my sister isn’t attractive enough?”
This left Caleb with no words to say. He could only look up with a tearful face, crying loudly.
“Okay, okay. Stop crying. You’re so annoying. I’ll warn you one last time. Don’t write anything like this to my sister again. If I catch you doing it again, the consequences won’t be as simple as just getting a beating.”
When Caleb heard that he was going to be let off the hook, he nodded so hard it was as though he was trying to become a bobblehead figure. “Don’t worry. I won’t dare bother her again. I’ll make sure to avoid her from now on.”
Only then did Damian snort and release his grip.
At the door, Alice was so frightened by the scene in front of her that she didn’t dare utter a word. She stared in a daze at her brother approaching her, and in her fear, she quickly covered her head. “I won’t do it again. I promise not to take any more letters.”
Although he did reach out to her, he didn’t hit her but pulled her into his embrace. “It’s okay. Everything’s fine now. He won’t bother you anymore.”
His voice was gentle as though he was coaxing a child. Well, she was still a child, indeed.
She had never seen this fierce side of her brother. His fist-waving just now had scared her quite a bit. Still, when she saw that he was still gentle with her, she wiped her nose and nodded. “Okay.”
