His Knees 17

Sienna strode into the room, her heels clicking against the hardwood floor as she approached. "Nathan...," she called, her tone a mix of frustration and disbelief.

Nathan glanced up from his desk, his brow creasing. "What are you doing here?"

Sienna's lips tightened as she crossed her arms. "What am I doing

here? It's not because you haven't answered my calls for days, is it? People have been looking for you, Nathan. Urgent matters, and no one could find you. So, I had no choice but to come to your office."Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Nathan sighed heavily, rubbing his temples as though trying to ward off an impending headache. He had indeed ignored her calls, and every time, he had done it right in front of of me. Each time, he'd cast a

furtive e glance my way, gauging my reaction.

"It's been... busy lately," Nathan finally muttered, his voice flat. "Tell

what, I'll have Reid accompany you for anything you need. Just call him if there's something urgent."

Sienna's eyes widened, her expression shifting from frustration to

hurt

"Nathan, you promised me. A long time ago," she pressed, her voice trembling slightly. "I've already notified the media about the event. If you don't show up, I'll be humiliated in front of everyone." Nathan hesitated. It was clear the weight of her words sank in, but he 14:57 C

remained silent.

Sienna, however, wasn't done. She noticed my untouched lunch on

the table and, with an air of smugness, walked over to where I was

sitting. "Why aren't you eating, sis?" she asked, her voice dripping with

false concern. "Still mad at Nathan?"

I I watched her c**lly as she slid into the chair across from me, her fingers reaching for the cutlery. "I'm hungry," she said with a light, dismissive smile. "Mind if I eat this for you?" I narrowed my eyes at her. "Actually, yes, I do mind."

She blinked, clearly taken aback by my sharp tone.

I leaned forward slightly. "Besides," I added, my voice cold and

measured, "if you make me sick, I'll throw up all over the statement

I'm reviewing.

Sienna's face hardened, her lips pulling into a tight line. "What do you mean by that?" she hissed, her voice now laced with irritation.

She turned to Nathan, pouting like a spoiled child. "Nathan, I'm just hungry. I didn't think my sister would mind so much."

Nathan said nothing, his eyes flicking between the two of us as tension

thickened in the air.

Sienna stood abruptly, the chair screeching against the floor as she pushed it back. "It seems I'm not welcome here," she snapped, her voice tinged with indignation. She glanced at Nathan again, hoping for

some reaction, some sign he might stop her.

But Nathan only nodded. "Alright, I'll contact you later."

Sienna's lips curved into a small, satisfied smile, but as she turned toward the door, she shot me a look of pure disdain. Her exit was dramatic, her heels clicking sharply as she stormed out of the office.
