Chapter 25 Ms Adam. You’ve Crossed The Line
Upon receiving the message, Maggie inwardly cursed.
Nathael took a cold shower in the small bathroom, feeling a bit cramped compared to what he was used to. However, everything in sight belonged to her–the faint pink color, the cute floral–shaped straps, the various scented toiletries, the cartoon–patterned cups.
Nathael forced himself to look away, allowing the cold water to pour over his head and calm the restlessness in his veins.
While Maggie was stewing the ribs and curry, she suddenly remembered that Nathael might not have at towel. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
So, she turned down the heat and went to her room to find a new towel for him.
Unfortunately, the only remaining towel was a light pink one with a strawberry bear drawn on it. It looked adorable and girly.
Maggie hesitated for a moment, glanced at the other two towels she had used in the cupboard, and immediately dismissed the thought.
At that moment, a knocking sound echoed.
“Nathael, do you need a towel?”
Upon hearing her voice, Nathael turned off the shower. A few seconds later, the door opened a crack, and a clean, slender male hand reached out.
“This is new. Just make do with it.”
“Okay.”
Nathael took the towel. Then, he noticed the tender pink color and the ugly bear. He was at a loss for words.
The moment their fingers touched, Maggie was stunned for a few seconds. His fingers were cold, even. colder than before. So, she blinked and blurted out, “You used cold water.”
The next moment, the bathroom door opened, and Nathael, with his strong and pale upper body exposed,. said in a deep voice, “I had to find a way to cool down.”
Maggie understood and her cheeks flushed slightly. She muttered, “But aren’t you… Can you also get aroused?”
Nathael narrowed his eyes and said in a deep voice, “What?”
“You’re absolutely right!” Maggie looked up at him with sincerity in her eyes, affirming him seriously.
Yes, she had to uphold his dignity as a man!
His eyes were deep, filled with desire like the deep sea under the night sky. They carried the most extreme temptation in the midst of a storm, but at the same time, it was dangerous enough to make her heart race and feel uneasy.
Maggie pretended not to understand what he was saying and her ears turned red.
She looked straight at him and asked, “Nathael, do you like me a lot?”
Her eyes were clear. The warm light from the ceiling reflected two beautiful spots of light in her pupils and him. She looked so focused and charming.
Probably not expecting her to be so bold, Nathael pressed his thin lips together and did not respond immediately.
After a while, just when Maggie thought she would not get an answer from him, Nathael slowly said, “Ms. Adam, you’ve crossed the line.”
Maggie raised an eyebrow. She was not surprised by his answer, and she even figured it was better than she had imagined.
She looked at the man in front of her. His hair was half–dry and slightly messy, making him look less. restrained but wilder and more unruly. At the same time, his eyes exuded a fierce aura.
His eyes were thin and deep, his gaze sharp and as black as ink. At this moment, they looked like the most astonishing ink painting.
His lips were thin and perhaps he had just taken a shower, they were slightly red. Maggie did not know if it was her imagination, but she felt that his lips seemed a bit swollen.
His broad shoulders, slim waist, narrow hips, and nearly 1.9 meters tall body were almost perfect in terms of proportions. It seemed that all the men in the world were nothing compared to him.
“Happy with what you see?”
Noticing her gaze, Nathael patiently let her look at him.
Maggie’s eyes followed his tight lines downward. He had wrapped the not–so–matching pink towel around. his waist, and the strawberry bear conveniently covered his crotch.
Maggie was speechless.
She would never be able to look at the strawberry bear the same way again!
She averted her gaze and said, curling her red lips, “You look good in pink.”
Having said that, Maggie didn’t wait for him to respond before turning to go back into the kitchen. She seemed to be in a good mood.
The two dishes were almost ready, so Maggie prepared the vegetables as well. At the same time, she recalled the scenes that had occurred between her and Nathael.
Before her rebirth, Nathael had appeared in her life several times.
Once, probably at a cocktail party, she encountered a problem and Nathael immediately stepped in to help her. Unfortunately, not only did he not receive a word of thanks, but he was met with her mockery instead.
“Why do you keep helping me, Mr. Harris?” She looked at the man in front of her with cold eyes, clearly: unappreciative of his assistance.
Nathael’s eyes were as dark as ink. Before he could speak, she laughed and continued, “Mr. Harris, do you happen to like me?”
She could tell that he was slightly taken aback, seemingly not expecting her to be so direct.
Yet, in the next moment, before he had a chance to respond, her words plunged him into a cold abyss, “You might as well not waste your time. I would never like someone like you, even if I were blind.”
Thinking of this, Maggie’s movements slowed as she chopped the vegetables, a wave of unspeakable sadness welling up in her heart.
She couldn’t remember his expression at the time, but thinking back now, he must have felt desolate and heartbroken.
So, it was retribution… Later, she really did blind…
However, even though she hated him so much and even though her eyes were always clouded by hatred, she ultimately fell in love with him uncontrollably.
Maggie’s eyes reddened, hating herself for never truly getting to know him, but instead learning everything about him from others.
She truly was the world’s most ridiculous fool.
After the food was ready, the vegetables were ready as well.
However, by the time Maggie served the meal, it was already half past seven.
Nathael had already changed his clothes. It was likely a suit that he had asked Alex to bring over. The deep. navy blue color was understated and clean, and the style of the white shirt remained the same. If Maggie hadn’t been so observant, she might not have noticed the change in the collar’s embroidered pattern delicately woven with white silk thread.
After serving the food, Maggie took a seat across from Nathael.
“I hope it suits your taste. Please give it a try.”
She also served him a bowl of seafood curry, her eyes filled with anticipation.
Strictly speaking, they had spent a lot of time together in their previous life, but they rarely had the chance to sit down and enjoy a proper meal together. Maggie’s eyes welled up with tears, realizing that she had missed out on too many opportunities for happiness.
“No, it tastes delicious. Nathael casually picked up his cutlery and tasted each dish under Maggie’s hopeful gaze before speaking earnestly.
