Chapter 577 Good Shot, Babe
Chapter 577 Good Shot, Babe
One of the other teams had been chasing Sean from the moment the game started.
That might have been the case, but the people who were coming after Sean had never even shot at
him, not even once. Instead, it simply appeared as though they were playing a game of hide-and-seek
with him, leaving Sean no choice but to keep running around like crazy.
When she noticed that her little brother had been frantically running around, completely inexperienced
with games like this, Carla picked up her gun right away and aimed at one of the men who kept on
chasing Sean.
—
However, just as she was about to take the shot, Terence stopped her from doing so and warned her,
"Try not to alarm them. They're a bit different from Theo. Once you shoot at them, they would most
certainly be able to pinpoint our location in no time."
"But they're picking on Sean. You can't expect me to sit back and relax knowing that he's in danger,"
Carla blurted out, sounding so ticked off. Despite not being on the same team, she just couldn't help
herself from wanting to keep her little brother out of harm's way.
"He's gonna be just fine. Trust me on this. "Sean is the youngest one among all of us. I'm sure they're
just messing with him. Besides, if they wanted to shoot him, they would've done so already and he
would be already be 'dead'" Terence told her in rather a calm tone. —
—
—
That being said, without warning, Carla took the shot just as Terence had finished talking.
Terence was at such a loss in that moment. Bringing out his binoculars to have a look, one of the men
who was chasing Sean had actually been taken out.
"Babe, you..."
"What's the matter? Is something wrong?"
"Nothing. Forget about it. That was a good shot, babe."
"You tell me. Even if we're not playing on the same team, I'll come and save him even if I have to put
my life on the line."
"I know. I get it, babe."
Glancing over at the man who had just been shot, Terence saw that he was still caught in a daze with
his smoking hat.
And because they had already revealed their position, Terence had to be quick on his feet as he lifted
Carla up. He couldn't do a thing but smile apologetically at the man who had just been eliminated,
pointing a finger toward Carla.
That was a way to tell him that it was a result of friendly fire.
She might have seen him do it, but Carla was completely clueless as to what it actually meant. Truth be
told, she was quite proud of her shooting skills. Even though she had practiced shooting before, it had
already been ages since the last time she had picked up a gun.
Even Carla had a hard time believing she didn't miss the shot.
The second they tried to move from where they were hiding, Carla and Terence immediately caught
Theo's attention.
Now that Theo was all by himself, he was completely dead set on getting revenge for his fallen
teammate. Having that goal in mind, when he spotted the couple as they were moving to a different
location, he quickly aimed the gun at them.
"Stop! Don't you take another step!"
Terence stopped in his tracks, staring at Theo who was pointing his gun at him from downhill.
"What's the matter, Terence? Feeling surprised? Didn't think you'd end up like this, did you?
"Well, I'm just gonna take my revenge and eliminate one of you. And since I'm feeling a bit generous
right now, I'll even let you two lovebirds decide who gets shot first,"
Theo had a devilish grin on his face, feeling quite satisfied with the scene in front of him.
"It's no fun taking just one shot, Theo. What do you say the two of us fight it out?" Terence suggested.
Then, he handed his gun over to Carla as he started to roll up his sleeves.
"No, no, no! How on earth can I possibly defeat you? Dude, I don't like being hit at all! Let's just get this
over and done with. Just take the shot, okay?"
Theo shook his head real quick without even thinking twice. This time, he was sure that he wouldn't get
fooled by him.
Even if every single man in that field were to team up and fight against him, they still probably wouldn't
stand a chance.
"Hey, Theo, since you said that you can't beat Terence, then what about me?" Carla asked, smiling at
him as she put Terence's gun behind her back.
Hearing that, Theo couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"What are you even saying? I'll never ever fight a woman even if I can't beat your husband. If word
comes out about it, it's gonna ruin my reputation as a real gentleman."
"Alright, that's enough. Stop playing games, you two. If you don't decide for yourselves soon, I'll be the
one to choose who gets eliminated and who gets to stay."
Theo declared, holding his gun and aiming it at the two of them. Be that as it might, as he gazed at the
two of them for a while, he couldn't decide which one he should shoot.
If he were to shoot Terence, he would really feel sorry for Carla since she would have to stay in the field
on her own.
—
On the other hand, when it came to shooting Carla down first, he wasn't sure if he could actually do it
because of how guilty he had been feeling due to what happened to Rena last time. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
With those thoughts running through his head, Theo kept thinking he was the one to blame for
everything that happened to Terence and Carla. He thought that he was the reason for everything.
As those things flooded his head, he couldn't dare to take the shot whatsoever.
Watching Theo keep swinging his gun from side to side, Terence's eyebrows became deeply knit as he
said, "Would you stop doing that? You're making us dizzy. Just take your pick already or we're leaving."
"Hey, hey, wait just a second!"
How could Theo possibly let such a great opportunity slip away?
However, he still couldn't make up his mind. Unlike William and Violet, this couple standing in front of
him was a bit different because they were his best friends.
Because of that, it was much easier for him to take both William and Violet down.
"Well, just give me a minute to think about it. No, even just 30 seconds will do!" Theo disarmed Carla in
an instant by shooting the gun out of her hands.
—
The following series of events almost made Carla's jaw drop.
—
"Dot, dot, dot, I'm going to pick one of you with my eyes closed. I'll pick the one the gun is pointing at
when I stop."
Theo started pointing the gun at them randomly.
This scene seriously looked so much like Sally whenever she was trying to pick her favorite toy.
—
It took the best of Terence just to hold back his laughter. Looking at his friend who was acting like his
precious little girl, he was having a hard time believing that this man was a friend of his.
"Okay, I choose you, Terence. You're the one who's gonna take my shot."
Now that he had finally made up his mind, Theo pointed his gun at Terence.
—
However, before he could actually take the shot, Terence suddenly dropped to the ground and slid from
the low slope, kicking Theo's gun away, rendering him defenseless.
Theo was caught by surprise and caught Terence's punch before he could gather his thoughts.
Screaming in protest, he said, "Terence, that's cheating!"
"Oh, was I really? How was that cheating? You've been given about five minutes to choose, and yet
you haven't even fired a single shot. Are you seriously going to blame me for that?"
With his eyebrows raised high, Terence twisted his arm and pressed Theo to the ground. Then, he
swiftly grabbed his gun and shot at his chest.
After that, blue smoke could be seen rising from Theo's body.
Carla also went ahead and slid down the low slope. Looking at Theo who laid awkwardly on the
ground, she couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.
"Theo, maybe it would be a good idea for you to come to my house one of these days. I can ask my
daughter to teach you how to make the right decisions."
With that, she couldn't help but lean against Terence's shoulder as she continued laughing at Theo.
Taking back his gun from Carla, Terence held her hand.
They went their way and left Theo there to himself as he waited for the car to pick him up.
Now, four people had been eliminated in total, the remainder of the fight was not gonna be an easy
one.
Nathan was highly skilled in shooting too, but he had been protecting Sean all throughout the game.
But Sean was the one who was being chased the most. Carla might have managed to eliminate one
man, but there were still three other men coming after him.
Despite being singled out, Sean had no intention to give in. He still made an effort to remain hidden.
Carla wanted to lend Sean a helping hand once more but she was pulled away by Terence.
After an hour of playing, the game was finally over.
After taking some time to rest, a group of people headed for the hunting grounds once more.
This time, they fought using shotguns.
They could all enjoy a picnic as soon as they're done hunting. There were even some professionals
who could help them process the meat and prepare the seasoning before grilling it. They could simply
have a good time and enjoy the barbecue when they're done.
—
On the hunting ground... Violet who wasn't able to enjoy the first round at all after getting eliminated so
quickly was eager to enjoy the game to its fullest this time around. William decided to just stay by her
side.
"Sean, are you alright?" Carla asked as she was sitting right beside Sean.
He was rather out of breath after all that running around and hiding in the shooting field.
"I'm perfectly fine, sis. Those guys were just trying to mess with me because they think I'm the
youngest one here." Sean smiled at her, seemingly as cool as a cucumber.
He was aware that one of them had been eliminated by his sister. Otherwise. he could've been even
more exhausted than he was at this point.
"Are you sure? But from the way I saw it, it looked like they were deliberately trying to take you out..."
Carla replied, feeling a bit skeptical.
Although those men had already been gone for a while, she still clearly felt that something seemed to
be quite amiss.
