Lovin’ in the Moonlight

Chapter 5 Your father is gone

Water and milk melt, two naked bodies pressed together, a fusion of hardness and softness, and for the first time Maxton West feels this sense of physical and mental fullness, a sigh escaping from his throat.

Fairen Evert, as if he were a drowning man in the desert, finally found a place for his body to rest, and held Maxton West’s body even tighter.

Maxton West’s eyes were red and bloodshot, wanting to be embedded in Fairen Evert’s body.

This woman was both a mystery and a tranquilizer to him, and as long as he had her by his side, the emptiness in his heart somehow dissipated, just like those good nights of sleep.

He was like an ungrateful beast, constantly leaving traces of ravishment on her body.

It was a night of valley-like ups and downs, of stormy weather, a wild and uncontrollable night for both Maxton West and Fairen Evert.

The next morning, Fairen Evert woke up in a daze and subconsciously reached for her phone, only to feel the man’s strong chest.

Fairen Evert immediately opened her eyes and looked to her side, where a naked Maxton West was lying beside her, sleeping soundly.

The bright morning light hit Maxton West’s face through the floor-to-ceiling window, softening the lines of his severe and distinctive features, and his messy hair was a touch lazy and sexy.

For a moment, Fairen Evert’s mind went blank –

She did not scream out loud in fear, but her whole body was completely frozen from head to toe, not daring to move at all.

The cool chill on her body and the empty sensory awareness under the covers, as well as the messy clothes thrown around the large bed, reminded her of what had happened with Maxton West last night.

Fairen Evert’s hands were trembling under the covers, completely afraid to think back to last night, it seemed that ever since she drank that protein water, everything had started to get weird …

She rubbed her head in frustration, blaming herself for being so stupid!

This was a mess, Fairen Evert’s mind felt like a million tangles of wool, she didn’t know what to do …

Just then, her phone, which had been thrown on the floor at some point, started vibrating, and Fairen Evert immediately bounced out of bed and grabbed it.

To avoid the embarrassment of waking Maxton West up, she didn’t even look at it and immediately pressed the answer button.

The call was from Evert’s mother, and her voice was rushed and subdued over the phone: “Where are you?”

Fairen Evert’s heart immediately tightened and he asked in a low voice, “What’s wrong, what’s happening?”

“Your phone hasn’t been answered, do you know that your father is gone …” Evert’s mother said, her voice tinged with tears.

At those words, Fairen Evert’s hand froze, the phone dropped, her face went white and her brain completely lost the ability to think.

Evert’s mother’s words kept echoing in her mind, her father, gone …

A moment later, as if finally awakened from a nightmare, she pulled her clothes on like a walking corpse and stumbled out of Maxton West’s room without taking anything with her.

On her way downstairs, the housekeeper ran into a disoriented Fairen Evert and stopped her in confusion, “Miss Evert, what’s wrong?”

Fairen Evert looked at him blankly, waved her hand hastily, and ran out of Maxton West’s house.

Evert’s mother’s words on the phone were like a bolt from the blue, and she had completely forgotten the meaning of her existence, and had no time to get paid.

She couldn’t imagine that her father, who had been fine, had left without warning.

When Fairen Evert returned to the Evert family, the house she hadn’t seen in a long time carried a heavy, depressing feeling, and the closer she got, the more her heart trembled.

Evert’s mother sat on her knees on the floor, as if she had lost her soul. When she saw Fairen Evert walking in cautiously, she picked up a teapot and threw it at her: “You ungrateful daughter!

Fairen Evert was too stunned to dodge, and she couldn’t care less about the debris at her feet, she asked in a trembling voice: “Daddy he …”Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

The house was empty and seemed to already have an answer, and she asked the question as if she was fooling herself.

“Gone, everything is gone, the company is completely bankrupt, he couldn’t bear it and jumped …” Said Evert’s mother became sobbing.

Fairen Evert’s knees went weak and she sat on the floor with her head bowed, not speaking for a long time.

She never imagined that she would have to say goodbye to her father in such a way that she would not even get to see him one last time.

Evert’s mother cried out hysterically, her deceased husband and the company in disrepair had left her with no hope for life, and she was like a person left behind in the world, full of resentment.

“With a snap, Evert’s mother grabbed Fairen Evert’s hair and slapped her hard.

“You heartless thing, where have you been? You haven’t even seen the last of your father, you heartless thing!” Evert’s mother kept repeating this phrase, as if she wanted to deepen Fairen Evert’s grief, wanted Fairen Evert to fall into remorse together with her.

Fairen Evert’s face was pale, and her eyes were completely devoid of any trace of popularity. Her shoulders were shaken by Evert’s mother, as if she were a puppet with a broken string.

What should she and her mother do afterwards? …

Two months later.

Fairen Evert finished her second part-time job at 9:00 p. m., and received a meager paycheck for the day, but it was enough to keep her and her mother afloat.

After leaving the West family, she didn’t go back.

She now finishes school during the day and works part-time when there are no classes, not even taking time for herself.

While waiting for the last bus, Fairen Evert felt a sudden cramping in her abdomen and tried to hold on with her teeth, but she fainted on the road.

Fortunately, a passerby took her to the hospital, and the moment Fairen Evert woke up, the first thing she worried about was her medical expenses.

Now, she couldn’t even afford to be sick.

Looking at the needle inserted in her hand, Fairen Evert gritted her teeth and pulled it out to leave the room, but was stopped by the nurse, “Here is your lab slip.”

“Thank you.” Fairen Evert took it without even taking a close look at it and walked to the payment desk.

But when the doctor handed her a stack of medications with the word progesterone written on them, she froze and subconsciously asked, “Doctor, what is this?”

The doctor sniffed and frowned at her impatiently: “It’s not written on the labs? You’re two months pregnant.”

The word “pregnant” was like a thunderbolt, causing Fairen Evert’s expression to freeze completely.

Her body shivered involuntarily, pregnant …

She couldn’t even think about it, the only possibility was the crazy night she had sex with Maxton West two months ago …
