Chapter 1984
Chapter 1984
The middle-aged man and the others who crowded around the trio fell silent. It seemed like they had formed the connection and understood who was behind all that had gone down. They began pleading even more fervently this time, "Please, Master Stockton, Mrs. Stockton, Miss Stockton, you must do something for us! Words can't express how apologetic we are!”
"Please have mercy on us, we weren't even there when everything happened! We have already severely punished our children for their nasty behavior!"
"Please give us at least another chance. I've worked my entire life to build everything | have today. You can't ruin me just because of something | wasn't a part of! Please!" The man who said this dropped to his knees.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Having never seen such a display before, Caprice faltered backward.
More students were crowded around now, drawn by the commotion. At one point, Caprice heard Lana's voice. "Huh? Isn't that Caprice? What happened over here?”
Caprice frowned as she addressed the man on his knees," Get up. Come on, get up!"
The man knelt with his hands covering his face soaked in tears. "I... don’t think have the strength to keep going! You have to forgive me, please!”
Another man followed suit and got on his knees as well.
Upon noticing this, the others gradually got on to their knees one after the other, all of them begging and crying in fits of desperation.
Caprice did not have the great to endure their sorrow anymore. She turned to her parents for help. "Mom, Dad, tell them to get up.”
After running through the gauntlet during his years in the world of business, John was no stranger to such displays. Despite that, he could not bear to see Caprice in this state.
Of course, the same went for Sherry.
They exchanged a look before asking Caprice, "Caprice, do you think you can forgive what their daughters, sisters, and nieces did to you last night?”
Caprice expressed in a heartfelt voice, ‘Even if | can't forgive them, their parents had nothing to do with their actions. They don't deserve this.”
Upon hearing this, the parents and relatives in question looked up at the girl who looked like she was going to be their savior. John ruffled her hair. "Alright, why don't you call Liam then?" Since Liam had done it for her sake, it was only right that she was the one to speak to him.
"Okay." Caprice nodded before turning to the people who were kneeling in front of her as if performing a religious practice. "Why don't you guys go home for now? | need to make a call, but things should be fine for your families after this."
"Thank you, Miss Stockton!" "Bless your kind heart!" Caprice retreated from them and quickly burrowed into the car. Then, she reached for her phone and called Liam.
The call was picked up at the first ring. Liam's low voice heavy with bass resounded across the phone, "Did you need something?"
“Liam, thank you for claiming justice for me," Caprice said sincerely.
Liam asked after a brief silence, "Did they go to the university to see you?"
Caprice grunted before imploring sincerely, "They all got on their knees and cried and begged for mercy. Can you forgive them this time?"
Liam relented, "Alright, I'll make the necessary arrangements.”
"Okay."
Liam hung up after that. He was probably on his way to reverse the damage.
Caprice put away her phone and looked out the window.
They were no longer on their knees and had risen to their feet instead. Each one of them cast expectant looks in the direction of the car, probably waiting to hear what Caprice had to say.
Additionally, there were a lot of people crowded around the scene. Caprice immediately spotted Lana, Freya, and Piper in the crowd.
They were standing with a group of students.
She clutched her phone tightly and pondered if she should get get out of the car to announce the good news that she had worked things out with Liam. Maybe this would get them to go home in peace.
Just as she was about to step out of the car, she noticed that the group of parents and relatives of Heather’s friends were on their phones.
They burst into smiles in no time. They must have received some long-awaited good news on the phone.
After that, they thanked John and Sherry politely before excusing themselves.
