Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 214

Everett glanced over, his dark eyes locking onto her. Even though she was bundled up so tightly that only a sliver of her delicate neck was visible, there was something inexplicably alluring about her, sparking a desire to strip her bare and playfully torment her. His Adam's apple bobbed as he remembered he was still on a call, a wicked amusement taking over. Leaning against the window sill, he teased Selena with his gaze, his voice husky and suggestive, "My wife just got out of the shower and is waiting for me. The night is long, and it would be a shame not to indulge her. Callum, I'm sure you have no interest in hearing about the intimacies between a husband and wife, right?" Before he could finish, the call abruptly ended with a beep. Everett's lips curled into a mischievous smile as he tossed the phone back onto the nightstand.

Selena's expression soured. "Who told you to answer my phone? What did you say to Dr. Campbell?"

She knew that Everett always had it out for Callum because of Margot. He was surely stirring trouble again.

Everett was already in a foul mood, his glare growing colder. "Selena, this isn't the time for you to mention his name!"

Here we go again.

Selena didn't want to indulge him with more emotions. She walked over and simply turned her phone off. This protective gesture only made Everett burst into a scornful laugh.

Suddenly, he turned and walked into the wardrobe, quickly returning with a black bodycon slip dress. He tossed it onto the bed and nodded for her to put it on.

Selena recognized the dress. It was the lingerie he had coaxed her into ordering during a tender moment in bed some days ago. They had planned to try it then, but things had since gone south.

Such mood-enhancing attire, meant for mutual enjoyment, now felt like a deliberate insult in this context.

Selena clenched her fists tightly,

then let them go. Rather than him pretending to be the doting husband and capturing her heart under the guise of love, she preferred him to be straightforward, like a transactional partner.

At least then, she wouldn't harbor any false hopes.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

She walked over, expressionlessly stripped off her bathrobe, and slipped into the black dress right in front of Everett.

This infuriated him even more. The more compliant she was, the angrier he became, His rage simmered within, eventually settling in his loins. He gritted his teeth, strode over, and grabbed Selena's waist, pulling her into a fierce kiss.

His breath tasted of smoke, an unpleasant sensation for Selena, yet she didn't resist. She was compliant. His tongue explored deeply, marking her with his scent. He wanted her to know, without a doubt, that she belonged to him!

Selena was pushed backward, nearly losing her balance as his aggression intensified. Her steps faltered until she fell back onto the soft expanse of the bed. The black dress she had just put on was like tissue paper, and it tore easily in his hands as he loomed over her. His kisses rained down relentlessly.

From the corner of her eye, Selena saw the dress remnants discarded at the foot of the bed, wondering if the Irwin family designed it with this flaw to satisfy some men's dark desires.

Everett instantly noticed her distraction and misunderstood. His large hand gripped Selena's cheek fiercely, his dark eyes stormy and unsettling. "Mrs. Bennett, are you thinking of another man at a time like this?"
