Just as she was about to send a message, Skylar suddenly spoke up. "Let's go. Take me home
first."
Natalie looked at her with concern. "Are you okay? Is Jeremy asking you to do something
difficult?"
Skylar's current dazed expression suggested that it must be something serious for her to look like that. "If it's too much for you, just say no," Natalie continued.
Hearing her words, Skylar looked at the concerned Natalie, her eyes glistening with tears as she said, "Jeremy didn't ask me to do anything difficult. He found some information about Joe, and it's possible that he's still alive."
Natalie's eyes widened in disbelief. "What?"
Skylar nodded.
"Oh my gosh! That's amazing!" Natalie exclaimed, slapping her thigh in excitement. She never expected that Jeremy would quietly work behind the scenes to help Skylar find Joe.
Tears shimmered in Skylar's eyes as she replied, "It's good news."
She could only hope it wasn't all just an illusion. No matter how the photos surfaced, she wished for their safety and well-being.
After dropping Skylar off at Galaxy Villa, Natalie drove back to her own place. She still lived in her apartment and hadn't moved out. She had grown accustomed to it.
Over the past three years, ever since she opened her café, she had made a decent amount of money. She bought a big house for her parents to move into, but she preferred the apartment.
for herself.
A larger house would be difficult for her to manage alone.
Just as the elevator reached her floor, she stepped out and noticed a woman standing in front
of her door.
The woman had long, curly hair and was wearing heels that were about two to three inches high. From her silhouette, she exuded a striking presence.
Aside from a few friends and family members, no one else knew she lived here.
Natalie quickly took out her phone and sent a message to the building manager on WhatsApp." Please send a security guard to my apartment immediately."
After sending the message, Natalie quickly made her way to her apartment. She was also
wearing high heels today, which made a noticeable sound as she walked on the marble floor.
When the woman heard the noise, she immediately turned around. She paused for a moment upon seeing Natalie, but quickly regained her composure. “You must be Natalie Jakeman, right?"
Natalie's eyebrows raised at the familiar tone of the woman's voice. Suddenly, she remembered the call she had blocked earlier today in front of the barbecue restaurant.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
It was from the woman who had called her several times over the past few days. Her expression darkened immediately. Just after she had blocked the woman's number, this person showed up at her doorstep.
"Yes, that's me," she replied coldly, nodding.
Seeing Natalie's frosty demeanor, the woman didn't seem surprised. "You blocked me, didn't you?”
