Chapter 14

He told her not to worry because Chloe had already gone ahead.

One year ago, Chloe graduated from Flomont and went to Usna to join Linda. Knowing her plan to return to Osmo, she didn’t hesitate to accompany her. Now, Chloe was impeccable in every way.

Linda entered the hotel hosting the party through a different door. Inside, it was lively and bustling.

Tom’s wife, Lucy Green, was busy introducing their daughter, Hannah Felix, to various young men. She was like an enthusiastic salesperson recommending her product.

Wearing a simple nude pink gown, Chloe drew the young men’s attention as soon as she appeared.

She walked straight up to Lucy and said, “Aunt Lucy, it’s been years, and you haven’t changed one bit. Still playing matchmaker, huh?”

Feigning a headache, she continued, “Before, you did it for strangers‘ kids to make a profit. Lunderstand Felix Group’s current situation, but Hannah is your daughter. Isn’t this selling your daughter?”

With just a few words, Chloe exposed Lucy’s actions and Felix Group’s precarious situation. Her voice wasn’t loud, but everyone around could hear her.

After speaking. Chloe lifted her skirt and left. The young men who had been talking to Hannah followed behind her.

Chloe’s face had a more striking beauty than Linda’s–it was a breathtaking kind of beauty.

With Chloe’s subtle actions, everyone present understood the party’s true purpose. These people only cared about profit, so they lost interest in staying.

If it weren’t for William’s consistent support of Felix Group over the years, they wouldn’t even have come.

At that moment, William was downstairs, watching this scene unfold.

“Boses

do we need to do something?”

William shook his head.

The year Linda passed away, the 18–year–old Chloe returned to Osmo from Idaly alone and gave Linda’s belongings back to him.

She said Linda had never regretted loving him, but at the end of her life, she certainly hated him. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

“She’s grown up and wants to avenge her sister. Let her do as she wishes. Just protect her from behind.” Chloe was the person Linda cared about the most, so he had to protect her.

“Okay.” Jay knew that since Linda’s death, William had been very tolerant of the Felix family for Linda’s sake.

At this moment, the screen in the hall lit up with a video taken from a hidden camera.

The protagonists were Tom and Lucy. Their voices could be clearly heard in the large hall. They were sitting in John’s office and speaking brazenly.

“Now that J

and Linda are dead, the only one left is Chloe, who has lost the elders‘ protection and is of no concern to us. The Felix family is ours now, isn’t it?” Lucy had a devious smile on her face.

Tom agreed, “Of course. I didn’t expect William to be so sentimental. Even after divorcing Linda and after her death, he still helps us.”

He sat in John’s office chair. “After all these years, Felix Group is finally mine.”

The crowd started whispering amongst themselves.

“I thought Linda went abroad for a vacation! Is she actually dead?

Wilson Group was the one that announced that Linda went abroad. Could it be their doing?”

Seeing the video, Tom and Lucy were shocked and quickly called for someone to turn off the screen. They never expected their smug moments to be recorded and broadcasted at such an important event. Just then, the side door opened. Linda, holding Samson’s arm, walked in gracefully.

“Long time no see, Uncle Tom and Aunt Lucy. Why are you still playing these games?”

Linda’s sudden appearance was like a thunderbolt on a clear day. It was unexpected and left everyone in shock.
