Noir

Chapter 67

*This was not going to plan at all!*

Panic surged through me, my heart pounding in my chest. I could feel the sweat trickling down my temple as I desperately tried to maintain control. Leaning into his touch, I played the part, while my mind raced for an escape plan. "What do you desire from me, my lord?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper, trembling with fear. Noir's eyes glinted with a sinister hunger as he responded, "Just a taste, my dear." Swallowing hard, I fought to conceal my nerves, silently praying for the wolfsbane to take effect soon.

Drawing closer, I acted as the obedient servant, feeling his fingers intertwine in my hair. As he reclined in the chair, his grip tightened around his erection, his voice husky with desire. "Take me into your mouth," he commanded. A surge of illicit longing washed over me, my body responding involuntarily to his vampire's power, succumbing to his compulsion. My breath quickened, my anticipation growing as I knelt before him. The cold stone floor sent a chill up my spine, but the heat radiating from his skin enveloped me, offering an eerie comfort. The flickering light of the oil lamps cast dancing shadows on his face, momentarily making him appear almost human. Yet, I knew the truth.

Inhaling deeply, I prepared to fulfill his request, parting my lips to accommodate him. But instead of obedience, I whispered the ancient and potent incantation from the ancient book the storekeeper had given me, under my breath. As the words left my lips, a tangible coldness permeated the air, shrouding the room in an eerie stillness. Noir's eyes widened in surprise, confusion flickering across his face. Then, a sudden roar of agony erupted from him, his body convulsing as if seared by fire.

The acrid scent of burnt flesh filled the room, causing me to scramble to my feet, retreating from the scene, but I could see no fire. The human woman on the floor stirred, whimpering in pain, but I dared not pause to assist her.

"You wretched bitch!" Noir snarled, his gaze fixated on me. His hand shot out, but I was prepared. Hurling the jar of wolfsbane towards him, it shattered against his chest, yet his torment persisted. The room became a whirlwind of shadows as Noir stumbled backward, weakened but not defeated. Time was of the essence. I turned and sprinted down the corridor, the cold stone floor chilling my bare feet as I raced towards the safety of my room. But I was not fast enough. Strong, sinewy arms wrapped tightly around me from behind, their grip constricting like a vice. I kicked and thrashed desperately, but my futile struggles were futile against Noir's strength. His hot, ragged breath brushed against my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

"You'll pay for this," Noir growled, his voice a venomous blend of pain and fury. "You'll pay with every drop of your blood." I braced myself for the impending pain, but instead, a peculiar warmth began to spread from within me, suffusing my body. It was a comforting, almost soothing sensation that defied logic.

Surprisingly, the grip around my arms slackened, and I found myself slowly being released. As I cautiously opened my eyes, I witnessed Noir on his knees, his body convulsing uncontrollably. The other vampires in the hall had recoiled in shock, their widened eyes reflecting their astonishment.

"What have you done?" Noir choked out, his voice barely more than a whisper. Taken aback, I took a hesitant step backward, my heart pounding in my chest.

"Only what I had to, in hopes of saving us all," I replied, my voice betraying none of the fear coursing through me. Despite the tension in the room, I remained resolute.

"Get her out of here," Noir growled, his command breaking the heavy silence. The room remained still, save for Noir's gasping breaths. The other vampires glared at me with a mixture of anger and resentment, but none dared to step forward. Eventually, the burly vampire who had guarded the room earlier mustered the courage to advance, briefly glancing at Noir before nodding. He gestured for me to follow, leading the way through the dimly lit corridor. The other vampires parted before us, their shadows retreating like a receding tide.

Returning to my dimly lit room, I collapsed onto the soft bed, feeling the exhaustion seep into my bones. The adrenaline still coursed through my veins, making my heart race and my hands tremble. I had played the role of the subservient servant too convincingly, and now I had to confront the repercussions of my actions.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

As I lay there, the flickering light of the oil lamp cast eerie shadows on the walls, heightening the sense of foreboding. The human part of me recoiled at the scene that had unfolded. Yet, the vampire within me reveled in the raw power I had harnessed, hissing with satisfaction.

The metallic scent of blood wafted from the adjacent room, tempting me to embrace it. But I resisted its siren call, knowing the consequences it would bring. Sylvia climbed out of my disheveled hair and perched on my shoulder, her eyes glinting in the dim lighting. I reached up a finger, feeling the softness of her as I lightly stroked her coat.

"It's going to be okay. I'll figure this out," I murmured to myself, the words barely audible in the silence. But doubt gnawed at me, threatening to consume my resolve. Moments later, I heard the door creak open, and the heavy footsteps of the burly vampire echoed in the room. My heart skipped a beat, and a cold shiver ran down my spine.

Stepping up next to me, he grabbed my wrists, his rough grip sending a jolt of pain through my body. Instinctively, I jerked them away from him, desperate to free myself. In response, he raised a hand and delivered a sharp slap across my face. The stinging sensation momentarily stunned me, and as I regained my senses, I felt the cold, unforgiving touch of iron shackles encircling my wrists and ankles, the metal biting into my skin.

The man continued his silent assault, his eyes piercing into mine with a menacing glare, the weight of his presence suffocating. With each click of the shackles, I knew the pain he was inflicting was nothing compared to what Noir would unleash upon me.

"Please," I begged, my voice trembling with terror, the desperation evident in every crack. But the man remained indifferent, his eyes fixed on me, as if daring me to challenge him. The metallic jingle of my shackles echoed in the dimly lit room, a constant reminder of my captivity. As he checked them one last time, the cold touch of the metal against my wrists sent shivers down my spine. With a final assurance, he turned his back on me, the sound of his footsteps fading away, leaving me trapped in silence with my racing thoughts.
