"Dare you!" Chuck said, his tone gentle but leaving no room for defiance.
Lucy secretly complained to herself, but obediently withdrew her hand. So bossy! Such control! She quickly found a spot on the couch far away from him, not wanting to get close. But before she could get up, she was pulled back and fell into Chuck's arms. That embrace was so warm; she intended to give him a sharp look but got lost in his gentle, almost liquid eyes. Inevitably, she blushed and lowered her head.
Last night, Chuck went wild, forcing her to beg for mercy, and she had just recovered her strength. If he wanted to do it again... Just thinking about it made Lucy's face heat up. Oh, my God! Since when did she become so impure in her thoughts? Maybe Chuck just wanted to take a look. The more she thought about it, the more she felt something was off with herself.
But it wasn't just her who noticed; Chuck also realized she was acting differently. His eyes seemed to see right through her as she glared back intensely. Before Lucy could react, he ducked his head and gave her a quick peck on the lips. Her brain went into a fog. "What are you doing?"
Chuck laid her down on the couch, leaned over her, and kissed her lips, holding her in an embrace that was impossible to resist.
But just then, Lucy felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, a deep ache in her lower belly. She let out a groan, and the pained expression on her face made Chuck stop in his tracks.
"What's wrong?" he asked nervously, looking at Lucy. Did he accidentally hurt her? The woman in front of him had curled up, clutching her stomach, looking like she was in unbearable pain.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
"What's going on exactly?" Chuck was almost frantic, but Lucy seemed to be in too much pain to speak. He quickly called their private doctor, urging him to come as soon as possible. Since the private doctor was usually nearby, it wouldn't take him more than a few minutes to arrive.
While he was in the kitchen getting hot water, Lucy struggled to get up and rushed to the bathroom. Only then did she realize what was happening-she got her period! She had never been in pain before, and always thought those stories about painful cramps were exaggerated, but now experiencing it herself, she understood just how painful it really was.
"Lucy!" Chuck exclaimed, noticing she was gone when he returned with the hot water. Hearing a noise from the bathroom, he set the hot water on the table and hurried over.
After tidying herself up, Lucy came out holding her stomach. Chuck quickly scooped her up and carried her back to the bedroom, laying her gently on the bed. Just as Chuck was about to get up, Lucy held onto him. "I might be..." she mumbled, cold sweat forming on her forehead from the pain, but how could she explain it? To say it was because her period was too painful?
She paused, looking like she wanted to say something but held back, which made Chuck anxious. "Just tell me already!" he urged.
At that moment, the doctor arrived, causing Lucy to stop talking and wait for the doctor's assessment. "Come quick, check her out. Why is her stomach hurting so badly all of a sudden?" Chuck asked with urgency.
After examining her, the doctor couldn't help but twitch his lips slightly. Steadying himself, he asked Lucy, "Do you have irregular periods?" Lucy nodded.
The doctor glanced at Chuck and said, "Mr. Zimmerman, Ms. Lynch is fine. She has just eaten something cold during her period. You need to pay attention to her diet for the next few days and avoid cold foods." After that, the doctor left some medicine and departed. Chuck's eyes reflected his displeasure as he looked at Lucy with a cold gaze. "Is this how you take care of yourself?" He suddenly remembered the ice grapes from earlier. Eating cold stuff during her period, she really was something!
Feeling a bit aggrieved, Lucy said, "My cycle is always irregular. I didn't expect it to come today, I thought it would be a few

days later..."
"You mean you knew it might come these days?" Chuck felt his nerves twitching, all riled up by her.
"I didn't..." Lucy clutched her aching stomach, her face pale with furrowed brows. But the man in front of her wouldn't let it go, fueling her inexplicable irritation. "It's not like it's my fault!"
Hearing this, Chuck's nerves were definitely rattled. "You didn't even take care of yourself, and yet you think you're completely in the right!" Seeing the look of pain Lucy was trying so hard to hide on her face, his heart ached for her.
"I don't need you to take care of me!" Lucy blurted out, and immediately froze. She had been so irritated that the words just slipped out. Glancing at Chuck's now steely expression, she regretted it instantly.
But Chuck's expression grew cold, and he marched right out the door without another word. Lucy felt a wave of regret wash over her. Why did she say that? Yet now it couldn't be taken back, Damn, why did it hurt so much now? It never hurt this badly before. And he left. The more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt.
While Lucy was lost in her wild thoughts inside, Chuck hadn't really left. He paused at the doorway, recalling that someone said ginger and brown sugar can be helpful for period pain, so he decided to drive to the store for some brown sugar. He swore it was his first time at the supermarket by himself, standing in front of shelves brimming with brown sugar and not knowing which type to pick.
As soon as he walked in, he caught the eye of the young supermarket employee who had been daydreaming. At first, the employee was a bit star-struck, but seeing him head straight to the brown sugar section made it clear he was buying it for his girlfriend. Watching him in such a dilemma, the employee stepped over. "Sir, do you need any help?"
Chuck glanced at her and then back at the shelves of brown sugar before responding coolly, "Ginger sugar."
The waiter continued to ask, "Which brand would you like?"
"Hmm... Ginger candy will do."
The waiter brought over several brands of ginger candies. "Which flavor do you like?"
Chuck glanced at them. "Bring them all!"
An hour later, Chuck walked up to Lucy with a giant bag. "Lucy, I've made you some brown sugar water." He spread the bag in front of Lucy, "See which one tastes the best." Lucy awkwardly looked at the spilled brown sugar on the floor. "This one, I guess." She casually pointed to a bag. Honestly, even she couldn't tell the difference, let alone Chuck. Chuck picked up the brown sugar and headed to the kitchen, while Lucy limped over and leaned against the doorframe, meeting his gaze.
Chuck was a chef, but he'd never made brown sugar water before. It was just a matter of steeping the sugar, adding some chopped ginger into the pot, and then seasoning it.
Standing at the door, Lucy could hear him chopping ginger. As she stepped inside, things seemed to get... strange. Why was she feeling regretful earlier? Why the remorse? After all, none of this really concerned Chuck.
