Chapter 159 KAIDEN STIRLING I became ravaged by emotions and felt devastated hearing what Dane said. “What do you mean by the Werewolf Council can’t be stopped when they’ve started hearing!. You are joking, right?” I furiously asked Dane, looking at his face expecting him to miraculously tell me it wasn’t true. “No, I am not joking, Kaiden” Dane replied with no hint of joke on his face. *S**t!” I furrowed my brows, although I was expecting this. I couldn’t bring myself to believe that the hearing would go on especially with Freda being like this. “At least, there should be an exception for complicated reasons. What do you think Dane?” Thinking of this gave me a little glimmer of hope but seeing the countenance on Dane’s face it slowly faded away. “Sadly, there is no exception” Dane regretfully said. “I don’t think so, how can that be?” I disdainfully disagreed with him. “Okay, let me show you” He took his phone and started searching for something and he looked so confident. “Look at it, stated right here” Dane showed me his phone and 0.00% ” < 1453 clicked on a document with the werewolf constitution boldly written on it. I started to wonder what would happen if what he said was true. He scrolled up for a while before finally stopping then he pointed at a particular spot and began reading it. According to Section 15, Subsection 7 of our Werewolf Council’s Constitution, ‘Once a hearing has commenced, the Council shall continue to hear the matter until a decision is reached, without

regard to any circumstances that may arise and irrespective of the parties involved. This means that having started the hearing process, the Council is obligated to see it through to its conclusion and cannot unilaterally stop or terminate the hearing regardless of the complexity of any issue or external factors. To do so would be a violation of our constitutional provisions and potentially undermine the integrity of our decision-making process.” He shrugged after reading it looking at my ghostly expression.” I felt like exploding. What he just read was like a dynamite and it sc**ed every part of me. I found it hard to comprehend. “Who even wrote this nonsense of a thing?” I ranted angrily. “Kaiden, I think you should try to calm down,” Dane said trying to reduce my anger. “And how would I do that?” I stomped the floor hard with my foot. “They are so unbelievable. How can they be this wicked and so cruel?, What were they thinking when they were writing it!?” I yelled and that caused some passer-by to glance at me strangely. I ruffled my hair with annoyance. “So let us figure out something, like another way to go about this.” Dane gently suggested looking at my face. 22.44% ୮ 14:53 30’ “If she would have to continue going for hearing then we need to truly come up with another plan that would be efficient” I admitted and tried to calm down so I could think of a way to help her and stop everything from becoming worse. “Not possible” Dane mumbled under his breath. “What do you mean by not possible” I angrily asked him, it seemed like he didn’t want me to hear what he said. “I thought of you going to personally speak to the head of the council and realized it wouldn’t work. That’s why I mumbled that. I didn’t mean anything” Dane said. “Ohh, I get you now,” I said after understanding why he mumbled what he said.

I really wanted to make things easier for her and I couldn’t wait to see her happy. With her condition worsened she can’t be going for hearing. How did I get this so wrong to lead us right here? “Since we can’t stop the hearing regardless of any circumstance then we have to find evidence to prove her innocence to the council. The faster we gather any evidence we find, the faster the hearing stops and the better Freda will be. So let’s quickly get to it” I looked at Dane with a new profound hope in me, feeling like a phone that hadn’t been charged in a long time. “Nice idea, but where do we start the gathering of evidence?” Dane asked me. “The main culprit is Safiya, she planned everything and blamed Freda” I gritted my teeth. 57.15% 14:54 259 Vouchers “Maybe we should start from her but how?” Dane pondered. “Getting evidence from Safiya would be somehow hard and it might take time,” I said. “That’s true, if only we were there to witness the event and know what really happened” Dane sighed “Yeah, and we weren’t present at the council meeting that day so we don’t know exactly what happened to her” “Wait!, Why don’t we ask Freda and Lyra about what happened? Maybe that would give us clues” Dane said eagerly. “You are right, we can also check the CCTV camera to find out about the incident and ask every single person we see there during that time” I concluded. “Well, let’s start” 86.40%This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
