Chapter 50
Sabrina believed no woman, not even herself, could resist a man's tender affection.
As she parted her lips to meet Nelson's, she felt a sting of self-reproach. She had pushed aside his meanness and everything that had happened during this time.
Sabrina's room was shrouded in darkness. The absence of light heightened her sense of hearing.
Back then, she had shared moments like this with Nelson.
They would embrace, kiss, and give in to their desires in a room devoid of light. Sabrina lost track of time during those intimate moments, and any thought of resisting him vanished.
After Nelson cleaned her up, Sabrina curled up under the blanket and fell asleep. He stood by the bed, watching her for a while before leaving the room.
Nelson went downstairs, poured himself a drink, and then sat on the couch.
No drugs or alcohol were involved. In his rational state, he hadn't expected to feel such pleasure and to discover how perfectly in tune they were with each other.
On that rainy night, when Sabrina was under the influence of drugs, Nelson felt as though she had become "her".
That woman had been his first woman. Before Sabrina, she was Nelson's only woman. He had been her first man, too.
When he was surrounded by darkness, she remained by his side. She cared for Nelson and became his guiding light, bringing him warmth. As she held him tightly, he decided to marry her.
In that brief moment of resemblance, Nelson desired Sabrina again in the ward on that rainy night.
But at that time, Nelson didn't feel the same connection despite Sabrina's passion. Even her striking beauty at home didn't make a difference. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
A few days later, her face recovered, and the marks on her body disappeared. Nelson thought he could finally make sense of things.
He wondered why Sabrina was so invested that night.
In the dark room, with her arms wrapped tightly around his neck, he almost believed Sabrina was "her". That woman used to cling to his neck like that, embracing him like a child.
Almost seven years had passed since then. While there were many things Nelson did not want to forget, his memories had begun to fade.
For instance, the memory of her fragrance faintly lingered. He only remembered it as a pleasant smell, yet he had forgotten the exact scent.
Nelson could not help but wonder if the whole incident was just his imagination.
After finishing his drink, he picked up his phone and called Dylan.
"Mr. Tucker," Dylan greeted.
"Find out where Sabrina was seven years ago."
…
The next morning, Sabrina saw the man's handsome face as soon as she woke up. Nelson's long, thick eyelashes softened his stern demeanor when he was asleep. He appeared much more approachable now.
This had been the marital life she had once hoped for. Not anymore, though.
Although desire clouded Sabrina's judgment the previous night, daylight signaled the return to reality.
Nelson spotted Sabrina in the dining room. She had already changed her clothes and applied light makeup, ready to leave for work after breakfast.
Upon seeing him, she calmly greeted him with a "Good morning".
"Are you unsatisfied with last night's service?" Nelson jested as he took a seat across from her.
Following the incident where she was drugged, Sabrina never brought up the divorce agreement they had intended to draft. Just like Nelson's absences, she no longer cared.
Sabrina turned out to be more composed and tactful than he had thought. She understood she had no control over the situation, so she did not seek any unnecessary trouble.
She was a wife who knew her boundaries—perfect for an arranged marriage devoid of love.
"I'm quite satisfied," Sabrina replied.
Although a blush had spread across her cheeks, her tone remained calm.
"If you're satisfied, why are you so indifferent to me?" Nelson remarked, intentionally attempting to change the way they interacted.
Setting aside the possibility that Sabrina could actually be "her", he had indeed changed his mind and decided to look for her on that rainy night. His body had betrayed his true feelings. It turned out that he longed for her.
Sabrina sat at the table, lifting her head slightly in response to Nelson's words. At the same time, she scrutinized him as if she were trying to figure out his true intentions.
Her serious demeanor was exceptionally proper, and Nelson could not help but recall how tightly she had embraced him before. The stark contrast stirred something deep from within him.
"If things aren't too hectic at work, will you accompany me to the Tucker manor?" Nelson asked.
Sabrina chuckled and responded, "Are you asking for my help?"
"If you want to put it that way, then yes," Nelson said.
He noticed the cunning glint in her eyes and decided to give in to her.
"Ten million dollars, and ensure that the person's shoot is completed within a week. Then, I'll help you."
He had once used the brooch to threaten Sabrina. Now, she was employing the same tactic against him, with a hint of flirtation.
Nelson burst into laughter upon hearing that. He then walked toward her and embraced her from behind as she sat in the dining chair.
"Alright."
"Very well. I shall wait for your good news, Mr. Tucker."
Sabrina remained still. As she ate, her posture was upright, and her figure impeccable.
Nelson glanced at her fair neck and nuzzled against it. At that moment, he suddenly understood why Gerald had changed so drastically and became completely he was smitten with her.
He found Sabrina genuinely fascinating.
…
Gerald didn't teach Amanda a lesson, but he had someone follow her. He was determined to uncover the mastermind.
At that moment, Mario called to report, "That car appeared at Capstone Golf Club."
From Gerald's understanding, Justin would not be keeping his car after what happened to it.
He thought investigating that vehicle could give him a clue about Sabrina's husband. After so many days, there was finally some news.
Gerald took a deep breath and drove over.
