Chapter 88
Shannon stopped the discussion there to leave him some dignity.
She wanted him to be self-aware of his actions.
Just like the situation with Pamela, Nelson knew Sabrina was deeply disappointed in him. Yet he preferred to see it for himself if she was truly disappointed rather than do something to make it right.
Even though Pamela threatened him with "that person", it wasn't like he was out of options. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
He had simply grown accustomed to Sabrina's devotion to him and didn't want to put in the effort for her.
In fact, it wasn't that she wasn't worthy of his efforts. On the contrary, she was wonderful in every way.
However, he just didn't want to put in any effort. It was as if any effort for Sabrina would be a complete betrayal of his beloved.
The thought of this made his heart ache.
Nelson had overestimated his willpower. After all, he was just a man who couldn't remain devoted to one person for a lifetime.
"Give me two days to think about it, okay?" he said. "I'm your son. How can you push me to divorce?"
Shannon scoffed. "I don't want to help you do evil, you rascal. I'll tell Sabrina to give you two days."
After she left, Nelson sighed and lit a cigarette.
He only had two days.
It seemed his parents had reached an agreement with Sabrina.
If he refused to sign the papers, his parents wouldn't mind her using what she has to ruin him.
At this moment, Nelson regretted faking an affair with Pamela.
He had earned a lot of money out of it, but it had backfired on him.
…
Sabrina went to find Eva to fully comprehend the situation.
She was relieved to learn that Pamela hadn't caught Gerald as he had acted discreetly.
"As long as Mr. Tucker doesn't get involved and the surveillance footage isn't exposed, Mr. Ingram will be fine," Eva said.
"Good," Sabrina said.
She believed Nelson wouldn't get involved, but she wasn't entirely sure as Pamela held a unique place in his heart.
She put that aside for now and called Gerald, but he didn't answer her calls.
Out of options, Sabrina drove to the Ingrams' residence.
Matthew was puzzled but was happy to hear that she was visiting.
When Samson was alive, many prestigious families expressed their desire to form a marriage alliance with the Wyatt family.
As such, Sabrina has a good reputation inside that circle.
Matthew had met her a few times and found that she was young, low-key, practical, and of good character.
"Ms. Wyatt, please come in," Matthew said.
Sabrina felt a bit embarrassed being addressed so formally. "Mr. Ingram, please don't call me that. Is Gerald home?"
Matthew exclaimed, "Oh, you're here to see Gerald?"
"Yes," Sabrina replied.
"So, you're his mysterious girlfriend?" Matthew asked.
She thought for a moment and said, "I suppose so."
Upon hearing this, he clapped his hands in delight and immediately had a maid call for Gerald.
"Do you really fancy that rascal of mine?" Matthew asked, genuinely grateful to Sabrina.
His wife had passed away due to illness, leaving him to raise their son alone, and he hadn't done a great job of it.
