Salute To The General

Chapter 3116

Chapter 3116

Meanwhile, in Channing of southern Eurasia, Nathan was accompanying Penny in the courtyard, basking in the sun.

Colin and Ava, on the other hand, made sure to stand a respectful distance away.

Nathan and Penny happily chatted about everything under the sun, from their daughter's studies to their goddaughter, Maisy Woods.

"When we visited the West a few days ago, Mrs. Woods promised to consider sending Maisy back to live in Brimmopolis. I wonder if she has made her decision..." Nathan piped up.

Upon hearing that, Penny chuckled. "Well, Mrs. Woods called me yesterday."

"Oh? What did you two talk about?"

"She said she and Maisy aren't suited for life in Brimmopolis. However, she agrees that the schools and quality of education in the West can't be compared to what's available in the South. Therefore, she has decided to bring Maisy to Channing for school."

"Really?" Nathan exclaimed gleefully.

"Of course! Besides, the two of them had already set off last night and should be arriving in Channing today. I'm waiting for Mrs. Woods' call so I can send someone to pick them up from the airport."

By then, Nathan could no longer sit still. "What? Why didn't you tell me anything about them coming to Channing? It's such a big deal!"

"Hey, I'm not to blame for that," Penny replied smilingly. "Maisy was the one who told me to keep it a secret because she wanted to surprise you." "Oh, that rascal..." Nathan muttered, not knowing how to react.

"Ava!" he turned and called out.

Without further ado, Ava strode toward him. "How may I be of assistance, Mr. Cross?"

"I want you to check which flight Mrs. Woods and Maisy are on. Once you have the information, drive to the airport to pick them up."

"Yes, Mr. Cross!" Ava answered. "That said, don't you want to come along to pick Ms. Maisy up?"

Nathan instantly broke into a smile. "That rascal wants to surprise me, so I can only pretend I know nothing about her arrival."

"You and Ms. Maisy sure know how to make each other happy," Ava said while stifling a laugh.

"Haha. You'd better get going now."

"Got it!"

Sometime later, Paisley and Maisy walked out of Channing airport with a bodyguard in tow.

The exit was swarming with people waiting to pick up their friends and family, with some even holding up name signs for easier recognition.

Eagle-eyed as always, it didn't take long before Maisy spotted the Lincoln limousine parked among the many cars by the road.

A foreign woman with pretty blue eyes and blond hair stood beside the Lincoln, shouting in fluent Eurasian as she held up a sign, "Ms. Maisy! Are you here, Ms. Maisy?"

"Look, Mommy! Aunt Penny must've sent that lady to pick us up!" Maisy exclaimed.

Paisley smiled and quickly led her daughter and bodyguard to the car.

"Hello. I'm Paisley Lauren, and this is my daughter, Maisy Woods. Has Mrs. Cross sent you to pick us up?"

A discreet smile flashed across the blonde lady's face as her gaze fell on Maisy. "Oh, yes, yes. Please get in the car."

Not doubting the woman in the slightest, Paisley did as instructed.

Alas, it was only when she and Maisy had stepped into the Lincoln limousine that they realized apart from the driver, an elegant foreign lady who exuded a cold, noble aura was sitting in the backseat

She was undeniably beautiful, but her skin was so deathly pale that everything about her gave off a bad vibe.

The woman, as it turned out, was none other than Vivien.

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Maisy," she said, smiling at the mother and daughter.

Paisley noticed something was off. She said cautiously, "Who are you? Come on, Maisy. Let's get out of the car."

However, before either of them could move, the car door was suddenly slammed shut!

Terrified, Paisley and Maisy hastily called out to their bodyguard, Labraidh, for help.

Labraidh was about to load the

luggage in the trunk when he heard the mother and daughter's muffled cries and saw them frantically pounding on the car window ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

His expression changed drastically as he thundered, "Hey! What are you guys doing?"

Just then, the blue-eyed blonde flashed her razor-sharp nails and slit Labraidh's throat in one clean, swift move. “Argh!” the latter murmured, clutching his throat as blood began gushing out from the wound.

Sadly, it wasn't long before he slumped to the ground and lay motionless in a pool of blood.

After licking the blood stains off her nails dreamily, the blonde sauntered away in her high heels and got into the car.

Soon, the Lincoln limousine sped away amid audible gasps and screams of the passers-by.

The next second, a sedan screeched to a halt outside the airport, and Ava promptly stepped out of it.

Having been greeted by the gruesome sight of Labraidh lying motionless, she frowned and rushed forward to check.

By then, the airport police had also arrived at the scene.

Ava noticed Labraidh's wallet had fallen out, but after catching a glimpse of his name card, she couldn't help but grimace. When she checked Paisley and Maisy's flight

itinerary earlier, she found out that their accompanying bodyguard's name was Labraidh Sabados.

Realizing that something must have gone awry, Ava began searching the airport high and low for signs of Paisley and Maisy.

Eventually, she had no choice but to conclude that the mother and daughter had gone missing.

Feeling anxious and tense, she quickly dialed Nathan's number. "Bad news, Mr. Cross! Something's happened to Mrs. Woods and Ms. Woods..."
