The Bracelet

The Bracelet

“I’m begging, Bill. Please, let us go. And please, let me hold my daughter,” Zoe pleaded. Her heart was almost broken because of the constant crying of her daughter, who Bea was holding. They give her milk in the bottle, but her daughter is still dependent on her—she’s breastfeeding the child. How cruel will they be? “B-Bea, please, let me hold my daughter! Let me go!” Her voice was cracked, trying to hold back her tears. “Let me go… let me go,” she said, almost whispering. Bill just laughed while he could see her suffering. What a demon! “That’s right. Feel my wrath, Zoe—Helios’s kryptonite that can serve to be the source of his death,” he said and devilishly laughed along with her daughter’s loud cries. “L-Let me hold my daughter…” she said weakly. She felt dory for her daughter, who won’t stop crying. She doesn’t know where they are. They were immediately blindfolded when they saw the driver on their way to Batangas. When those demons removed their blindfolds, they saw tall trees. The vehicle also took several hours to arrive there. Next was the explosion of Helios’s men who were with them. It seems like they planned everything. She blamed herself, too, because she was drifting off the fun of going out and hanging with her friends. She also trusted Bea. And she was stupid because she didn’t even look at their driver before leaving Helios’s mansion. They entered the old and seemingly abandoned building in the middle of nowhere. All they could do was cry as they entered and tied them up. They even make them wear a vest with explosives. And even her innocent daughter has to wear the vest. Bill was rude, heartless, psychopathic, and demonic. The abandoned building has many rooms, and her two friends are in another room. She and her daughter have left at the entrance of the building… sitting in a steel chair, hand-tied back, and wearing a vest with a bomb. The timer isn’t activated yet. And they don’t know when it will be activated.

Bill also has a lot of numbers of men. For that reason, he is also a Caporegime of the mafia—the same mafia where Helios is. And he chooses to be the traitor to their organization. “Bullshit, Bea!” he growled at the woman, “shut her up. Otherwise, I will plant a bullet in your temple —” “Why are you doing this?!” she shouted. Bill approaches her and pulls a chair. It created an eerie noise. Bill sat down in front of her with a demonic grin flustered on his lips. “I thought you and Helios were allies. You used to, and you should be!” She didn’t know where she got the courage to ask the man and find out his reason. “You should be their ally, but what are you doing?” Bill just laughed, and suddenly his face became serious. Crazy! “The world of the mafia is chaotic. You don’t know who your allies are. You don’t know what will happen the next day. They can—I can kill you any time. We kill hundreds to prove our worth. We kill to get our own goal—their own goal. We’re just a puppet, Zoe. Even Helios used to be a puppet, but it became different. It seems like he’s no longer an enslaved person like me but became our leader. He surpassed me. He left me. And the big Boss seems to like Helios the most, and worse comes to worst, as the time passes, I found out something… something that breaks me piece by… piece— and you know nothing!” he growled and aimed the gun at her. She gasped in astonishment. “Bang!” he said and laughed again. “Don’t ask anymore because you can’t get anything from me. Let’s wait for your beloved. Let’s see if he can save you… all by himself,” said Bill. He stood up and walked away. She was left failing because of it… of everything. It seems like Bill was blinded with envy, rage, and revenge. … Helios’s team can’t still track Zoe’s locations. They even used the NASA satellites, which are illegal... to find where they are. Ali started to lose hope. They had the best trackers, yet why? It seems like the psychopath Bill is one hell of an intelligent foe. “We should get back up. Let’s ask for help from the Big Boss, Helios,” Grant suggested.

“No,” he said stubbornly. Grant pulled his hair because of Helios’s stubbornness. They’ve been convincing the man for a couple of hours, but he still refuses. “You know the Boss can help us. You’re important to the org, Helios. He’ll help us,” said Grant. “I doubt that. I broke his rule. I fell in love,” he replied. The Big Boss is much crueler than his father. “Trust me, Helios… he will help us. So, call him, and we’re going to continue searching,” Alessandro looked at his watch, “We still have two hours and thirty minutes. You better hurry,” said Ali. He heaved a deep sigh. His friends have a point, and there’s no harm in trying. He was about to dial the number when his mind hit a thought. He cursed. “The bracelet!” he shouted. Ali frowned, and the rest of their men stopped. They gave a confused look to Helios. “The bracelet—” “What about the bracelet?” asked Grant. “I gave my daughter a bracelet with a tracker on it, and if we can’t locate any of their phones, we can track the bracelet. Zoe never removed it from our daughter’s hand. We… we can use it. Quick!” he said, with so much hope in his eyes. A few minutes later, they had already tracked their location. Helios wiped his palm on his face and smiled wryly. ‘Damn it, I almost lose hope,’ he thought. “But I’m serious, dude. You must call the Boss. Going there all by yourself is not a joke. Knowing that Bill has a mental disorder. Don’t let someone like him outsmart the mighty Ferron,” said Ali. Helios heaved a deep sigh again and told them that they had to plan quite fast. They almost took thirty minutes on the given time. Good thing that they all have a good schemer. Just like what Bill instructed, Helios will show off alone. “No matter what happens, you know what to do,” he said and maneuvered his car towards their location. The location is kilometers away from them, so he needs to drive as fast as possible. Plus, the place is located at the top of the mountains. …

“Hi, Amanda, long time no sex—I mean see,” said Bill, demonically to the girl whom Gunner was holding. “Don’t do this, B, please,” Amanda pleaded. Bill went closer to her and touched her hair, he then pulled it forcefully, and Amanda looked up— closing her eyes because of the pain she felt on her scalp caused by the man’s tight grip. “You know what, I gave you time… lots of time to do what I tell you. What did you do? You hid and betrayed me!” he shouted. Amanda shook her head. Zoe was shocked when she saw Bill punch her cousin in the abdomen. She wanted to shout but had a gag in her mouth. Her eyes were full of tears. Her daughter fell asleep because the little girl seemed tired of crying. It’s been hours passed since they arrived. Bill also slapped her several times. But she endured the pain. Her eyes were pleading as she looked at Bea, who was just silently watching what the man was doing. Sometimes the girl avoided her gaze and just turned around. How did Bea do that to her? Why did she betray them? She trusted her. Zoe thought that she was an angel who could not bring any harm. Helios should have thoroughly researched the girl’s background. She was crying while looking at the newcomers. Gunner, you punk! He was holding Amanda. At the same time, the other one was holding her nephew. The young boy keeps on wiggling out of the man’s grip and crying. She hates it when she sees innocent kids suffering at the hands of those ruthless people. The scene breaks her heart. Even though she loathes her sister, they still run the same blood. She’s only human and can forgive. Beige is still her nephew, no matter what. They all have resemblances! “Mommy!” shouted Beige while trying to let go of the grip. “Mommy! Stay away from my mommy!” he screamed and cried out loud. “Shut up!” shouted the man back to the child and slapped the young boy. Zoe kept wiggling… trying to escape, but she knew she couldn’t. She almost lifted the chair but still —she was tied tightly, and there was no hope that she could remove it. She was hurting herself. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

“N-No, please. Don’t… don’t hurt my son,” Amanda pleaded. The woman is trembling because of the pain she’s trying to endure caused by Bill’s punches. Bill laughed. “Son? Son of a Lincoln. He must die,” he said and turned to the man behind him. “Put vests on them,” he said and let go of his grip on Amanda. The latter slipped down but was quickly supported by Gunner. “And you, Gunner, be thankful that you’re my friend,” said Bill and turned his back away from them. “Get a chair, tie that woman and her child,” said Bill, and his men followed. The men then tied Amanda to a chair meters away from Zoe. The young Beige was also placed opposite his mother. “I’m s-sorry, Zoe. I… I’m so sorry,” said Amanda in a hoarse voice. Zoe nodded a few times to show that it was okay. That she already forgives her. These were Amanda’s last words before the man gagged her. Soon… a black car entered the building. Helios climbs down from there. Zoe cried again when she saw him. And she caught the man’s attention. Helios clenched his fists and shouted Bill’s name, “Bill!”
