Spoiled by the Silver Fox

Chapter 667

"Boss, your relatives are here to see you," an employee reported, ushering in a mother-daughter duo.

At these words, Marilyn lifted her gaze towards the entrance. Upon seeing the visitors, her eyes almost popped out of her head. "Carol, Zandra, what brings you here?"Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

So, the cat's out of the bag now, huh?

Marilyn couldn't help but frown.

Seb had already given these folks half a million dollars last time; wasn't that enough?

Greedy bunch, they were!

Marilyn sighed silently, rising from her seat.

Carol snapped out of her surprise, her face splitting into a grin. "Oh my! Marilyn, I barely recognized you. Wow, you're really making waves, aren't you? And what a spacious office!"

Zandra chimed in, her voice warm, "Indeed, Auntie, you look stunning!"

Marilyn offered them a small smile. "What brings you here?"

"We missed you and wanted to see you! Or have you started looking down on me?"

"Why would I? Didn't you last time?"

"Last time it was Sammy who took away the money, we didn't take a dime! Marilyn, I saw you grow up. I gave up my only chance at education for you. We shared everything as kids. Our bond can't be broken by mere money!" These words would've been touching if they weren't so late. And ironic.

When Seb gave them half a million dollars, they accepted pretty quickly.

That moment shattered any trust or expectations Marilyn had for these so-called relatives.

As for them not taking a dime, it was because their parents favored their son and grandson; hence, the money never made it to her, the married-off daughter.

Marilyn didn't engage but simply asked, "Why did you bring Zandra here all of a sudden? Is something up?"

"I told you. We missed you and wanted to see you. You're really going places. You've got the air of a big company leader. Everyone's so respectful!"

"It's all thanks to Seb; he got me this job. It's not that big of a deal."

"Having such an awesome

son-in-law is a big deal! Marilyn,

Zandra is a college graduate and not

bad-looking. Can you talk to your

son-in-law about getting her job at

this big company?"

Marilyn shot it down immediately: "Sorry, that's not really appropriate; I don't have that much pull."

In the past, Carol would've definitely started hurling insults.

But now, she dared not provoke Marilyn, instead turning on the waterworks: "Marilyn, are you disowning me as your sister? We're sisters."

Marilyn sighed inwardly: "What are

you talking about? You want me to get Zandra a job right off the bat; do I have that kind of power? Steph and I already bother Seb enough; if asked him for more favors, it'd be crossing the line! You're putting me in a tough spot!"

"Well, you and Steph are doing well now; you can't just ignore me and your two nieces. Just help us out; we don't want your money. We won't pressure you. If you're willing, help us out. Zandra and Zola aren't ugly; they're capable. If you're not willing, today."

just pretend we didn'ting,

'Well, you could've just not come!'

Marilyn took a deep breath and said, "Why don't you go home now? I'm still working. I'll think about this; if there's a good job, I'll call you."
