Such a Rude and Noisy Woman

Chapter 376 She Finally Saw Him

Chapter 376 She Finally Saw Him

"What are you doing? Lydia, let go of Rachel!" Luke said as he ran over to them.

When Luke found out that Hiram was hurt, he told Daniel the news. Upon hearing the news, Daniel

cleared his schedule and came all the way from another city to visit and support his friend.

"Luke, if it wasn't for her, Hiram wouldn't have been shot by a bullet! Instead of being guilty, I caught her

hugging another man outside! How dare she! What a shameless woman! I will never allow her inside

and disturb my brother! But here she is, insisting on seeing him!" Lydia told Luke everything in a loud

voice, chattering fast. She wanted Luke to take her side.

Daniel was walking in with a basket of fruits in his hand. When he heard what Lydia said, he knitted his

eyebrows and turned his eyes to look at Rachel who remained silent, ignoring Lydia.

"Lydia, watch your mouth! Rachel is your brother's wife, an elder member of your family. If you don't

want to show your respect for her, at least don't trash talk her." Luke scolded Lydia giving her a stern

look. He didn't believe Lydia who was obviously exaggerating. She had gone overboard and crossed

the line with her reaction. Luke then turned around and said to Daniel,"Let's go inside."

Still ignoring Lydia, Rachel followed Luke and Daniel into Hiram's ward.

Gavin wasn't in the room at that time, giving Rachel an opportunity to slip in.

Rachel almost ran into the room where Hiram was, as soon as she got past the door.

She saw Hiram with an intravenous drip to his arm, lying on the bed with his eyes closed. She stared at

him through her tears, which had started flowing relentlessly. All she could do was to stroke his hair

and touch his face with one hand and cover her mouth with her other hand to prevent herself from

crying out loudly. Her body trembled as she wept quietly.

Rachel didn't care that the tears were flooding in her eyes. She reached for her husband's hands and

called to him,"Hiram... Can you hear me, honey? I'm here. Why haven't you woken up yet? It's been so

long. Don't scare me, please!"

The ward was actually a suite which had its own living room. Luke and Daniel went there first to put

things down and give Rachel time with her husband. Then they walked into the room, staring at Rachel

who was crying at the bedside.

"Don't tell me it's your first time to see him after he got shot." Luke said. Hiram had been in coma for

few hours, but it seemed like Rachel had just seen him now. Unbelievable! How could a wife not visit

her husband in the hospital, especially at a critical moment like this? There were no rules for that!

Rachel wiped tears off with a sleeve and cleared the lump from her throat. "Dad blames me for this

accident, saying that Hiram was shot because of me. He doesn't allow me to visit Hiram..."

Daniel walked towards her and said, frowning,"How could Gavin blame you for that? You are Hiram's

wife. Of course he would do that for you as any husband would when his wife is in danger!"

Luke who was sitting in a chair shook his head and let out a sigh. "We can understand that. But I don't

think parents can. Hiram is their only son. They will be tons of times more terrified than other parents."

"It doesn't matter as long as Hiram is fine. I can take whatever blame they put on me." Rachel replied

as she tightly held her husband's hands. Noticing that his lips had become dry, she stood up to take a

towel in the bathroom and dipped it in some warm water.

She gently wiped his lips with the wet towel. Although he looked pale now, his face was still attractive

and it made her heart beat faster.

"Honey, can you hear me? Wake up please! No one will protect me if you don't wake up...

And you know what? Joyce and Jonny asked me all day long where you are. If you don't wake up, how

could I explain it to them?"

Rachel said softly as she stroked Hiram's hands.

She was telling the truth.

Hiram was the protector for her and their children. As long as he was with them, he would deal with all

the problems and there was nothing for them to fear.

But without him, the evil spirits lurking around would now easily come to her and give them trouble.

Luke stared at Hiram and Rachel, but was lost in his thoughts. People always said that the road to

happiness was strewn with setbacks. It was so true for this couple. Since they were married, there had

been a never ending series of trouble around them.

"Rach, I'm looking into your mother's lawsuit case. You don't have to worry about it. I can promise you

that we will win the case!" Luke assured Rachel.

"Lawsuit? How come there is a lawsuit? What's going on?" Hearing Luke's words, Daniel asked, with a

concerned expression on his face. Well, now it had become clear how much trouble Rachel had to deal

with lately.

Luke shrugged his shoulders. He stretched his hand to Daniel and said in a low voice,"It's a long story

and I'll tell you later. You know what, their stories can be written into a book..."

Daniel was being light about it. But he worried about Rachel and turned his gaze to her, deep in

thought.

A thousand memories spun in his head. He thought by now, she should be living a peaceful and happy

life after she got married. But he might have been wrong. Her life would never be peaceful and happy

as long as these problems kept following her. NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

Rachel stared at her husband without blinking. She was looking at his eyes, his nose, his mouth... She

was afraid that his face would fade away if she closed her eyes for even a split second.

"Daniel, why don't we go out and leave these two love birds some time alone?" Suggested by Luke

who was standing up. He then added,"Rachel, take your time. We will stay a little bit longer. So, don't

worry about anything."

"Luke, thank you..." Rachel appreciated Luke and Daniel's presence. With Luke and Daniel around,

even if Gavin came back and saw her, he wouldn't easily make an ugly scene.

Luke went out of the room first followed by Daniel who cast a glance at Rachel but said nothing.

Looking at Hiram who was lying on the bed, Rachel caressed her husband's face with her fingers. "Mr.

Wolf, you have had enough sleep. Please wake up.

When you wake up, I'll bring Joyce and Jonny to see you..."

As she spoke, her fingers slightly brushed over his eyes, his jaw, his full lips, his nose, his cheekbones,

his smooth and fair forehead...

Then, with much emotion, she bent over, closed her eyes and pressed her lips on his.

In their four-year marriage, she seldom took the initiative to kiss him. But now, realizing that the

precious moments should not be taken for granted, she made up her mind to be more active and make

the first move to be more intimate.

She kissed his lips, his eyebrows, his eyes then back to his lips. She couldn't stop. She wanted to kiss

him as much as she could. She didn't fully realize that she had been deeply in love with this man until

this moment.

"Uncle Gavin! You are back so soon!"

Suddenly, she stopped when she heard Luke's voice outside.

Rachel immediately stood up, still holding her husband's hands. She wouldn't want to let go but she

had to. "Mr. Wolf, promise me that you will wake up as soon as possible. Do you hear me? I have to go

now..."

She then let go of his hands and walked out of the room.

But just after she left, Hiram's finger suddenly moved. No one else was in the room to see it.

When Rachel walked to the living room of the suite, she nodded at Gavin and greeted him in a polite

voice,"Dad."

But she didn't stay there. Immediately, she walked out of the suite without looking at Gavin's face.

She had to be polite as there were other people around.

In her heart, however, there was almost no respect left for him. She felt no need to be polite to Gavin,

his father-in-law because he did not deserve it.

"Hi, Mom. What's the matter?" As she stepped out the ward, Rachel received a phone call from Fannie.

"Rach, when will you come back? Joyce and Jonny are waiting for you." Fannie still didn't know what

had happened to Hiram.

Rachel kept the news from her mother because Fannie had just been released from her detainment.

Rachel didn't want her mother to worry.

"I'm on my way back right now." Rachel cast a glance at the room and replied after a moment of

hesitation.

"Okay then, please hurry. They are still anxiously waiting for you! If they don't see you soon they might

start crying." Then Fannie hung up.

Rachel let out a sigh. She put the phone back into her coat pocket and walked towards the exit.

Back at the Tulip Palace, when Joyce saw Rachel, she ran to her mother and hugged her mother's legs

so she could lift her off the ground.

"Hi my baby girl! Did you miss me?" As Rachel lifted Joyce onto her hip with her right hand, she held

Jonny's hand with the other as they walked into the house.

Fannie had prepared dinner and set the table. When she saw them entering, she asked her

daughter,"Rach, will Hiram be joining us for dinner?"

Hearing Fannie's words, Rachel lowered her head and said,"He is busy. He won't come home tonight."

"Mom, dad won't be home tonight?" Jonny tried to confirm when he heard Rachel's reply, his face full of

disappointment.

Fannie then put down the bowl and chopsticks she was holding. She looked at her daughter who

seemed depressed. She didn't notice until just now. But under the bright lights, she could see Rachel's

eyes were red and swollen. 'Did she cry on the way home? What had happened?' she thought.

"Rach, take a seat.

Tell me the truth. What happened?"
