Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife

Chapter 178

Chapter 178

He glanced at the clock and casually asked, “What about her?”

“Mrs. Ramirez…” Ranen replied, “She’s at Ivory Towers,”

“Bring her over.”

“Uhh…”

Everyone and their dog knew that Hawley had laid down the law. No one was letting Letitia take one step out of Ivory Towers without his say-so!

Elgin raised an eyebrow, “What’s up? Got cotton in your ears?”

Ranen had a lightbulb moment and answered, “It’s pretty late, the missus must be… must be sleeping by now…” Bingo! What a killer excuse! Ranen felt like giving himself a standing ovation!

Sure enough, Elgin fell silent for a beat.

Yeah, it was almost the crack of dawn.

She must’ve been scared out of her wits these past few days, not exactly in tip-top shape.

After a moment of thought, Elgin said, “Get a doctor.”

“Right away, Mr. Ramirez.”

When the doctor showed up, he was all bows and scrapes, “Mr. Ramirez, are you feeling unwell?”

“I need to step out of the hospital for a bit, about two hours or so,” Elgin said. “Figure something out to secure the wound so I can get out of bed and move around.”

The doctor was speechless.

Ranen Was stunned.

Where the heck did Mr. Ramirez think he’s off to?

Something so critical he’d ditch his recovery?

“What are you spacing out for?” Elgin looked peeved. “Get on with it.”

“Mr. Ramirez, your arm’s in bad shape and needs a long time to heal. Since you’ve just woken up, how can you possibly…”

“That’s why I’m asking you to work your magic.”

Otherwise, he’d have already tossed aside the covers and hopped out of bed.

Elgin wanted to see Letitia.

If she was asleep, then he’d just go and quietly take a peek to keep her company. Even that thought felt pretty darn wonderful to him.

“Make it snappy.” Elgin’s patience was wearing thin.

The doctor and Ranen exchanged glances, neither daring to give the green light,

Elgin darkened his expression, “What, do I not call the shots anymore?”

“Mr. Ramirez, do you have some sort of emergency?” the doctor ventured.

“No.”

“Then why.

“I want to see my wife,” Elgin cut in. “Is that a problem?”

The doctor fell into silence. Ranen didn’t know how to reply, either.

That reason just left them speechless!

They looked at each other, lost for words.

After all, they couldn’t tick off Hawley but got stuck between them!

Just then, the door to the room swung open, “Of course, there’s a problem! Do you even want to keep your hand? You’re wrecking yourself over a woman? Elgin, I’m so disappointed in you!”

Hawley stormed in, face ashen.

He’d just reached the hospital when he heard that Elgin wanted to go back to Ivory Towers to see Letitia, which made his blood boil on the spot!

Seeing their savior arrive, Ranen and the doctor made themselves scarce.

Elgin, however, was the picture of a calm, “Grandpa.” Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“You remember I’m your grandpa!”

“We are family lifelong and can’t be wiped away,” Elgin said. “What brings you here so late, Grandpa?”

“Lucky I came, otherwise you’d be off to see that vixen, Letitia!”

Hawley had been restless back at the mansion, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.

So he figured he’d feel better after checking in at the hospital.

But then he walked in on this conversation and it was almost enough to give him a stroke!

Elgin retorted, “Isn’t it because you restricted her personal freedom and wouldn’t let her see me, so I have to go. to her?”

“She needs to stay as far away from you as possible!”

“Then why was she in the room when I woke up?”

Hawley was at a loss for words, “That’s… that’s…”

Elgin spoke lightly, “Because you know that only she can wake me up and take care of me. When you need her, you let her come, and when you don’t, you discard her like she’s nothing.”

The thought of Letitia’s suffering from his grandpa irritated Elgin.

Anyone else would’ve been toast long ago!

“One way or another, you’re getting a divorce from Letitia!” Hawley declared. “She can’t stay by your side. I won’t let your father’s tragedy happen to you and lose my loved one.”

“Letitia won’t hurt me.”

“But you’re willing to die for her! Elgin, I’ve painstakingly groomed you to be my successor, how can you throw your life away over a woman!”

Elgin curled his lips into a smile, surprisingly.

Hawley was livid, “What are you laughing at!?”

“Grandpa, did you know? There were several chances for Letitia to kill me, but she didn’t.”

“What? Hawley was shocked. “How can you be so careless? What are your bodyguards for if they let such dangerous things happen?

“Don’t you think that her not killing me means she loves me?”

She did love him.

Just the thought made Elgin feel blissful.

Hawley clutched his chest, I… I never imagined, Elgin, that you’d be so lovesick!”

Samson called him whipped.

Grandpa called him lovesick.

Personally, Elgin didn’t think these titles were bad.

Compared to “CEO,” “young master,” and “tycoon,” he preferred to be “whipped” by Letitia.

“Grandpa, it’s best if you don’t meddle in my relationship with Letitia,” Elgin started, warning and reminding. “Otherwise, it’s bound to affect our grandparent-grandchild bond.”

“Are you threatening me?”

“It’s a heads up, Grandpa, Elgin said. “You’d better lift Letitia’s house arrest.”

Without a second thought, Hawley refused, “No way!”

Seeing Elgin so deeply in love only made Hawley more determined… to send Letitia far away, the farther the better! This woman was nothing but trouble! He couldn’t keep her around!

Elgin sat up, ready to get out of bed.

“What are you doing?” Hawley rushed to hold him down. “Your arm’s immobilized, you can’t just move around.”

“I want to see Letitia.” He missed her. Nothing and no one was going to stop him from seeing her. Absolutely nothing.

Hawley gritted his teeth, knowing full well the stubborn streak in Elgin, a family head of the Ramirez family that he had groomed himself! That tenacity in his bones and never-look-back attitude were impossible to hold back!

“Let’s talk tomorrow!” Hawley took a step back.

“No way.”

“Letitia hit the hay at ten o’clock,” Hawley replied irritably, “You gonna drag her out of bed?”

After hearing that, Elgin finally settled back down on his sickbed.

“Tomorrow morning at eight, I want to see her,” Elgin stated, “Lift her grounding. Otherwise, I’ll go and see her myself.”

Hawley turned on his heel and stormed out, slamming the door behind him with a bang.

Elgin took the win in this round.

With his arm injury, he successfully cornered Hawley into backing down and waving the white flag.
