Chapter 35: Welcome back!
Chapter 35: Welcome back!
Chapter 35: (Aubrey's POV)- Welcome Back!
"There are no hot Cheetos in your freaking pantry, Xavier Parker!" I yelled. For the past ten minutes,
we had been arguing.
He asked me to get him a packet of hot Cheetos and told me they were in the pantry since he was too
lazy to grab them himself, I couldn't find them and I looked for five minutes before coming to the
conclusion that we were out and now not only was he refusing to come and see for himself, but he was
also refusing to admit that they were out and he ate them all already.
"Xavier, I have been looking for your goddamn hot Cheetos for ten minutes and they are not here! We
are out! You can find them yourself!" I shouted, before letting my arms drop to my sides in
exasperation. I began to stomp my way up the stairs but someone just had to ring the doorbell. "Oh my
god! I'm coming!" I groaned while shouting before glancing at a pissed-off Xavier. I don't know if it was
my yelling or him not getting his hot Cheetos. I glared at him before stomping over to the door to be
greeted by a very familiar face, followed by another. "Violet? Oh my god, Violet!" I squealed before
hugging her, her hugging me back just as tightly.
"I thought I heard moaning," Ace snickered, earning a glare from me before walking past us and into
the house to meet Xavier.
"What are you doing here?" Xavier chuckled before they did that bro hug thing as Vi and I pulled away.
"I thought we were meeting tomorrow?" I asked her as she walked in while I closed the door.
"Our flight happened to be earlier than we thought," Ace sighed as he sat down on the couch next to
Xavier. "So we thought why not?" he shrugged. "Although, I'm starting to second guess myself from the
sounds we heard, what were you two doing exactly?" Ace smirked at Xavier, earning a glare from Vi,
Xavier, and me.
I sighed while sitting down on the other couch, "Parker here refused to believe he already ate the
Cheetos," I stated. "And made me look for them for the past ten minutes." I folded my arms across my
chest as Vi sat down beside me.
"Right, that calls for some drinks," Ace spoke before getting up and disappearing into a room in the
corner, coming out with a bottle of tequila. Great. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
"I don't drink," Xavier and I spoke simultaneously before glaring at each other not too subtly. I rolled my
eyes.
"Well, tonight both you lovebirds will. And you'll have fun in drinking games," he smiled before getting
plastic cups from the cabinet under the sink.
"Excuse me?" I asked in surprise.
"Should I not have said lovebirds? Oops. Anyhow, let's begin now shall we?" He raised his eyebrows
before we all sat down in a circle on the floor.
"I don't want to drink," Xavier and I groaned together.
"God, you two really are meant for each other. Come on, just tonight?" Vi pleaded.
I sighed in defeat, "Fine, just for tonight though." I watched in amusement as Xavier's eyes widened in
surprise. "You in, Parker? Or are you too scared?" I arched an eyebrow at him. I saw as Vi and Ace
turned to him, Ace very amused at my words.
"I'm in, alright," he sighed before pouring himself some tequila in a glass. This is not going to end well
for anyone here tonight, I'm calling it.
~~~~~ Thirty Minutes Later
Skip to now and we're all drunk off our asses, especially me since I'm not one to handle alcohol very
well. Xavier, on the other hand, is barely drunk so I've come to learn the boy handles his alcohol well.
Good for him.
"Now we'll begin never have I ever," Ace announced, refilling all cups for the third time.
"I think I'm- I'm gonna call it a night," I slurred. I may be drunk but I'm not stupid even now, I should not
be having any more alcohol.
"Are you kid-kidding?" Vi hiccupped, "This is the best game to play and you're gonna leave?" she
grabbed onto my arm before I could get up and leave.
"What's wrong, Carthy? Can't hold your alcohol very well can you?" Xavier teased.
I squinted at him before sitting back down. "Pour me one, Ace," I demanded, reached my glass out to
him while having a staredown with Parker.
"Welcome back to us!" Ace laughed.
I watched as Xavier smirked while shaking his head to himself, a small smile tugging at his lips which
was soon tugging at mine too, which luckily I managed to suppress. I downed the cup as he eyed me,
with the look of being impressed in his eyes. I poured myself more for the game and waited for
someone to start.
"Never have I ever been in love," Violet announced.
Ace's hand went to his heart,
"Ouch!" he laughed.
Nobody drank but I didn't miss the way Xavier almost raised the cup to his lips. Almost. Wonder who
that was for.
"Never have I ever been heartbroken apart from the way Violet just broke my heart," Ace announced.
Vi and I looked at each other before we both sipped. Her last relationship was bad, she was dumped
and the worst part was, we both were broken up with at the same time, which only meant we were also
sad for each other. Her relationship ended because he had to move out of town, but they kept in touch
until this trip she just went on.
Wonder why.
Just as Xavier was about to say the next one, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it." I stood up stumbling a little.
I set my drink down and answered the door, completely surprised. "Peter? Uh- what are you doing here
right now?" I asked in confusion.
"Aubrey, I need to talk to you." He didn't wait for me to tell him to continue, he just began talking. "I
have something to tell you," he began, "I love you."
What on earth? My eyes widened, "W-what? What the hell are you talking about?" I grabbed the wall to
keep my balance, I can't be doing this when I'm drunk off my ass.
"I love you, Aubrey, I always have." He took a step closer to me and suddenly I was panicking. I didn't
like the proximity and I hated being alone with him right now.
"Y-you need to leave. I already told you, we're done. Please just-"
He cut me off and suddenly grabbed my wrists, jerking me closer to his body making me gasp, and
tears instantly prick my eyes. "We were getting closer, why are you saying no?" His jaw clenched and
that's when I could smell the alcohol off of him, he was drunk too.
"Peter, please." That was all I was able to utter out pathetically.
"Say yes, Aubrey. Say it," he demanded through a clenched jaw.
"I'm not gonna say something I don't mean. Get off of me, please." My voice cracked as a tear slipped.
What is wrong with me? Why haven't I screamed for help yet?
"Why the fuck won't you say yes? I don't get it. I tried everything! Say it or I swear to god..." he trailed
off, anger pooling in his eyes which stared directly into mine.
"Peter, leave." I tried to sound the least bit more confident but failed miserably. "I'll scream, Peter.
You're drunk. Get out," I demanded weakly.
"So are you. Just say yes, Aubrey. That's all you have to do and I'll be gone." His grip on my wrist
tightened, well, that's gonna bruise.
I opened my mouth to call out Xavier's name but he was quick to clamp his hand over my mouth. I bit it,
making him wince and pull away, letting me go and turning his gaze to something behind me before
scattering away, leaving me sobbing. I rubbed my sore wrists before spinning around to see Xavier
standing there, his eyes and expression softening as he locked eyes with me. I stood there as tears
streamed down my face, staring at him for a moment before running up to him, wrapping my arms
around his neck.
His arm immediately went around my waist, pulling me closer than I thought was possible.
"It's okay. You'll be okay. I got you, I'll fucking kill him," he whispered against my skin before carrying
me inside and up to his room, while I cried hysterically, leaving a very confused Ace and Violet
downstairs.
