MISTAKE 172
Chapter 172: Thrown out
“I am sorry,” he said and left in a hurry. Stella felt as though her world had crashed to nothing
She had many questions, such as why? Why did he do this to her? He knew that if he did this, she would be finished, but he still did it anyway. But for some reason, the questions could not leave her mouth. She could feel people watching her. She simply turned and walked away. Sta
felt numb somewhat.
A part of her knew what was coming. Her parents were not going to let this go. Her father was strict, and her mother even more so. She was the disgrace of her family. Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Her father had never liked that she was a girl, and her mother was more interested in her brother, Martin. There were times she wondered if she was their child. She knew that her life
was over.
With this rejection, she was done for. She would have to find a way to survive on her own
in the world. She had already weighed her options if the family threw her out; after all, she was
of no use to them.
She was emotionally prepared for the consequences. She did not bother waiting in the car. She sprinted home instead. When she got home, there was no one there, so they had time to sit down and take it all in. She already had the job at the delivery shop and knew she just had to find somewhere to stay in the meantime. She was ready and prepared to be thrown out, but she was unprepared for what truly happened next.
When her family returned, her sister, a tall red head, poked her head into her room and called her down. Stella did not need to look at her to know she was looking at her condescendingly; it was completely covered in the tone of her voice. Stella slowly went down to see the entire family gathered in the sitting room. Her father had a grim look on his face.
“Pack your things,” was the first thing he said. His words caused a small smile to escape
“You have the right to throw me out of your family, but what power are you executing to throw me out of the city? Are you the muyor” stelle anked darkly
My right an your father,” her father, Carl Jones answered coldly.
“That right is not enough to throw me out,” Stella answered stubbornly.
“You will not remain here and continue to remind the entire city that you are my child,” Carl irafsted
Well, tough luck, that is not your decision to make,” Stella answered and was suddenly slammed towards the door. She crashed into it, and pain rushed to her head. The door was opened, and her angry father picked her up and threw her into the lawnL
-Do not make me repeat myself. I have talked to some real estate agencies. No one will give you a house in this city. Our family does not need a daughter who can barely keep herself from bringing us shame. You can only return when you have learned your lesson,” Carl said, and Stella, amidst her pain, looked at him in horror.
His pride was so important that he had her thrown out of the city too. People who were not from the city would not know, but she knew. Her father had to pull with a lot of people, especially for small favors. He can definitely stop her from getting a house in the city. Where would she go? For the first time, she looked to her brother and two cousins for help; she even looked to her mother but only met cold eyes in response.
things…” Stella choked out. They all understood what it meant. She wanted to go inside to pack up her things.
“You will not step one foot in my house again. You are now a stranger. After twenty four hours, If you are not out of the community grounds, you will be dragged out by suray” Cad answered, and she stared at all of them.
Stella had never really resented them for how she was treated the day she was born, the wat already used to the idea that it was her fault she was a girl. But at this moment, the resented them. This was not just about throwing her out; they were punishing her by letting her leave with nothing.
Stella knew she was not strong enough to force her way through to get her things, so she turned around and walked away.
As she walked out of the front yard, she could see neighbors peeking through their windows. None of them stepped forward to help. She almost felt like laughing. She walked for quite a bit till she got to the boundary of the community. She took a deep breath and started walking down the lonely road.
“Stella, wait!” a voice called to her as she started walking into the forest. She knew this voice; it was Jack. Stella used to feel excited when she heard his voice, but now she feels numb,
empty, even.
“What is it?” Stella paused and answered.
“I am sorry, I know we agreed, but I just could not bring myself to get engaged; this is a matter of my marriage; I cannot lie to my mother.” Jack said. Stella stared at him for a good thirty before she answered.
“When did you start changing your mind?” Stella asked.
“For a few moths now,” Jack answered.
“Why did
you never tell me?” she asked.
“I had already agreed and did not want to hurt your feelings,” his words made her chuckle lightly.
“My feelings… I cannot even save me from embarrassment; I will try and settle the order you thought doing it in front of the entire city was better, then.” Stella laughed at herself as she turned around to leave. Seeing her leaving by walking in the lonely load at night, Jack frowned.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“I have been thrown out of my family and the city. You know the rules of the community, nonregistered people have 24 hours before they are dragged out by security,” Stella answered and kept working. Jack looked lost for words.
“Thrown out, thrown out?” Jack asked.
“I need to leave.” Stella said and began walking faster away. She knew her father. She probably did not have 24 hours. It was embarrassing enough. If security restrained her and took her away to the police, things would get complicated.
“How can you get thrown out? Come back with me, I will. Jack
started to say, but in that
moment, alarms sounded from afar. Jack and Stella froze. Alarms? Her father really had her reported. She started walking faster.
“What are you doing? We need to get back! Who knows if there are dangerous people outside?” Jack insisted.
“There is no dangerous person. They are coming to get me. I wish to never see you again!”
Stella said.
“Stella!” Just then, the sky churned a wind picked up. It swirled around, bringing Stella into a sudden storm. Stella panicked. What is happening? Wait. This scene. Why was she quarreling
with Jack? She has not seen Jack in years.
The wind churned, confusing Stella some more.
She saw a person ahead in the storm but could not make them out. Their figure looked familiar. James? The moment she recognized him, her vision went black.
In a deep dream, James Grey recalled how he got stuck here. His memory was hazy, so his mind filled in the blanks with fantasy. He had received an unusual visitor. He was standing in his apple orchard when his butler appeared, saying that his mother and brothers were here. James paused and looked back at the three people approaching. They really were his mother and two younger brothers. He raised a brow at their appearance.
