MISTAKE 175
Chapter 175: Pretending to not know him.

“They threw you out? They wanted me to marry you, so they trapped me here!” James scolded.
“Marry me? I just got rejected by my fiancé at my engagement ceremony and got thrown out like a dog, yet you are claiming someone wanted you to marry me? I am not liked in my family, but I am not stupid. It doesn’t matter how you got here or who brought you; nothing to do with me!” Stella said.

“Why would you clan go this far to trap me here?” he asked, and she paused.
“You?” she had recognized him since the moment she set eyes on him. Is this what set him
off?
“Yes, me. Ring any bells?” he asked.
“I don’t know you!.” she said and stormed out.
This set the tone for their interaction going further.
James had been in his dream for so long, he had forgotten a lot of logic. He could not even tell
he was dreaming-
The days that came, James was recovering from his poison while Stella would hunt and come back with game for them to eat. James only had to see the injuries she returned with to know
that she was hurt.
Even hunting was too dangerous for her. He did not in any way believe that she was sent by his family. Maybe the Stone clan had lied. His mind was muddled.

They quickly got into routine. James could now move around easily and was eager to help her out. After all, he could not watch her pitiful huming skills. If he left her alone, she would die outside.
So, he hunted, and she cooked. They did this for three days, while they kept track of the village and the town much further away. They quickly confirmed that they were in a medieval era.
Stella also confirmed that James was a bit delusional. He was too immersed in the dream to know they were in a dream. Stella had long figured it out when she found that she was a fast runner. And could jump so high into the sky. There was no way this was real. But she did not know how to get out.
“You may hate me, but we need to leave this place fast, before the full moon comes,” Jarnes said to her.
“I never said I hated you; I only avoid you for good reason,” Stella retorted.
“Then what about you mom knowing me?” he asked.
For some reason, that sentence of hers had bothered him. Maybe because he had lived with her for a few days, he was quite bothered by the fact that she did not like him and she pretended to not know him.
“I meant that I really don’t. I am not some stone. I don’t know who you are set to marry, but this has nothing to do with me,” Stella answered with a sneer. While she and her daughter were suffering,
he was dreaming of another woman. Was this the afterlife? Was she in hell?
Her answer made him happy. It was better that she did not dislike him. He was not sure why this was stuck in his head, and when he started thinking like this, Throwing the thought out of his mind, he looked away from her.
“Anyways, it is almost full moon; the villagers are saying so. This will become dangerous,” he said.
“It will be dangerous for you to be around me during a full moon; I cannot control myself when the moon gets out,” he said, and she paused.
“What are you saying? Do you think you are a werewolf or something? Something like that is only in myths about us; people don’t change unwillingly under full moon; what do you mean?” she asked.
“A curse. A witch thought it was funny. My mother thought it would be good revenge,” James
answered.
Stella was stunned. Is this how his brain rationalized what was going on? He thought he was a werewolf? She took a deep breath, wondering if she should go with it.
At this moment, her mannerisms were so familiar, James wondered if he had met her before.

“Well, there is nothing I can do, right? I will stay away a bit. They estimate the full moon will be tomorrow. I will keep that in mind,” she answered as she cut through his thoughts.
James found himself staring at her after she had said that for a bit, but caught himself and quickly looked away. What was he thinking? She was familiar?
When night came, James stepped out for a second while Stella was away and was suddenly in front of a full moon. He stepped back in quickly, but he had already seen the moon and was touched by the light.
He felt his emotions churn at that moment, spinning and whipping around; he could not control himself. His clothes got too big for him as his body grew and expanded, ripping into the fabric. Just that moment, Stella walked in, froze, and tried to retreat, but he spotted her and pounced.
What was going on? He really looked to be changing into some wolf–like creature. She
thrashed around trying to get him off her, but he could not hear her.
Stella felt like cursing at this moment. How did it get to this point? Did they not say that the full moon will be tomorrow? She had forgotten that this was a dream and her husband was literally choking her while transformed as a werewolf. She was scared. She did not want to die.
As she thrashed around, trying to get him off her, she looked into his eyes and saw pain. How could she have forgotten that legends say this kind of transformation was painful? She was not sure if she had been possessive. But she wanted his pain to go away.

As his muscles ripped, he gave out a on and bit down on his collar, causing her blood from her cut cheek to penetrate his skin. All she knew was that vampires were the ones who liked blood in the movies. She spat bloody spit into his mouth, and he froze.
The moment her blood touched his skin, he felt as though a bucket of cold water had been thrown on him. His hearing cooled and heated at the same time. His transformation stopped, and he started reverting back to human form.
Stella could not believe that it worked. She could not believe she was dealing with this. She had to get away. What if he changed again? Besides, if being a werewolf was the reason he was strong, shouldn’t she be one too? In this dream, she was also strong. Was it because she was aware that she was dreaming?
Now what? She was sure that not being special in a dream could get her in trouble.
She tried to crawl away. Of course, being delusional is useful in a dream. She resisted the urge to curse out loud. She needed to return to her daughter, so she kept crawling.
But she did not notice that though James had returned to his human form, his mind was not really clear. Seeing her crawling away from under him, he trapped her back in his embrace.
He was not sure what came over him; he wanted to touch her. He bent down and kissed her shoulder, making Stella go numb. His kiss turned into a bite that drew blood quickly. Stella

yelled in anger and attempted to push him, but he only trailed a kiss down her body. Before he could go further, she threw a slap, and he regained some clarity. The moment he let off her slightly, she ran off.
