The Cherished Wife

Chapter 565

Chapter 565

Noelle's eyes went wide again. "You're making stuff up, that was... that was just me admiring him!" Noelle had not seen anyone more good-looking than Steven. "However, Mr. Smith, you've got me all wrong. If you keep this up, I might just tell Charles or Steven, I think..."

"Alright, alright, I was just kidding!" Sean quickly threw up his hands in surrender. "Can't a guy joke around?" Sean shook his head with a wry smile. "They say it's tough to deal with divas and drama kings."

"What was that?" Noelle acted like she did not catch his drift. "Mr. Smith?"

"Nothing, I was just saying you look really pretty!"

"What's taking you two so long?" Charles spun around to find Noelle and Sean whispering about something, lagging behind.

"Nothing much!" Noelle giggled, catching up quickly. "Mr. Smith just said he's super jealous of us!"

"Is that so?" Charles smirked, shooting a look at Sean, who could only shrug with a wry smile. "Yeah, I'm totally jealous. Even the singles wish they were you."

Once they picked up Steven, Steven naturally hopped into Sean's car because Steven's destination was right next to Sean's mansion. Noelle and Charles decided to drive together in Charles's car.

Noelle was curious about Steven during the drive, mostly because Sean had bigged him up so much earlier, especially when Sean stopped mid- sentence and suggested that Noelle ask Charles for the rest of the story.

"You're really into Mr. Fischer, huh?" Charles finally said after Noelle had rambled on for a while. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Noelle's eyebrows shot up. "No way!"

She shook her head quickly. "It's just that Mr. Smith was talking up Steven big time, saying that neither you nor Peter could take him in a fight. I'm just a little curious, that's all!

"Oh?" Charles raised an eyebrow. "Sounds like you don't quite believe me?"

"No way, I didn't mean that at all!" Noelle shook her head frantically. "Charles, how could I ever doubt you, right?" She plastered a smile on her face, but inside, her heart was howling in distress.

Charles caught Noelle's conflicted look and burst into laughter, reaching out to tousle her hair affectionately. "You're such a goof. Did I scare you?" Noelle shook her head and swatted Charles's hand away. "Not at all!" She was not about to confess.

Charles grinned. "Sean's got a point,

you know. Peter and I put together

et

might still fall short against Mr. Fischer he's really something else!" It was not a secret or anything to be embarrassed about. The whole gang had known for years.

Steven's moves were next-level-no average Joe could stand up to him. Lucky for them, he and Peter were not on Steven's bad side, or they would be in a real pickle!

"However, Charles, you're no slouch

yourself! Steven's just... off the

charts, totally bonkers." Noelle scooted closer, giving Charles's hand a playful squeeze. "I mean, you bailed first, and that's saying something. You've outpaced plenty of folks, and your racing skills? Come on, Steven's got nothing on you there, right?"

Charles's smile widened, his eyes twinkling with mirth. He gently patted Noelle's head, his gaze soft and warm. "Yep, he's got nothing on me!"

Noelle's eyes twinkled like stars, brimming with glee at Charles's words. "I always knew you were incredible!"
