The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 506

Chapter 506

Cordelia flung the door open to find him standing there. Her tone was laced with irritation. "When are

you planning to go home and see Callum?"

"Can you just drop it? Always talking about the kid! Don't you care about adults anymore?" Ronan's

mind was still preoccupied with Eason, that formidable rival whose every word, though seemingly

indifferent, carried significant weight.

Ronan used to be the assertive type, but now his aggressive reputation was common knowledge to

both Cordelia and Eason, leaving him in an awkward position. No matter how angry he was, he had to

hold back, especially since Cordelia had been deeply hurt last time. He wasn't eager to cause her more

pain.

Cordelia, hearing Ronan's harsh words, ignored him and returned to her desk.

"Are you going home or not?" she asked him. "If you go now, I'll join you."

"No!" Ronan declared with deliberate emphasis, making sure Cordelia could hear every word.

Cordelia laughed scornfully. "You were all cozy with someone else, playing happy family. Now that your

own child is sick, you suddenly don't care. Ronan, are you even fit to be a father?"

At her words, Ronan knew she was hinting at the incident with Petra. Gossip was rife at the school; it

was inevitable that the story had reached her ears.

"Jealous?" he sneered.

Cordelia was livid. "Get out! Just get out!"

"Don't you point fingers at me!" Ronan was truly enraged now. He had never lost his temper with

Cordelia like he did today, or more precisely, he was angry because of Eason.

"Out!" Cordelia, at her wit's end, stamped her foot and yelled.

Unity Hall was just a three-story building, not very tall, so the slightest commotion was easily heard. At

that moment, the students milling about downstairs could hear the noise from Cordelia's room. Looked

like Ms. Haselwood was having a spat with someone.

"What are you shouting for?" Ronan's anger rose further. He stood up from the couch and gripped

Cordelia's wrists tightly. “Do you want everyone to know you have a temper?”

Cordelia glared back at him. Her eyes were burning with fury, while Ronan's grip prevented her from

moving.

Unable to contain himself, Ronan leaned in to kiss her. Cordelia tried to dodge, but the disparity in their

strength made it futile. When Ronan's tongue forced its way into her mouth, she bit down hard on it.

Ronan, who had closed his eyes, now glared at Cordelia with eyes wide open. Cordelia met his gaze

with equal intensity.

In the midst of their standoff, Ronan's phone rang. Reluctantly, he answered. "Mr. Evans," it was Peter

from Empower Operations. "The new site renderings are ready. When can you come and take a look?"

"I'll be there shortly," Ronan replied, his voice dark and brooding.

Cordelia wrestled free from Ronan's hold as she received a notification on Messenger. It was a

message from Peter in the group chat. [All executives, if you're free, come take a look at the

renderings. Of course, I'll send pictures to everyone, but I think the on-site review is more impactful. It's

quite remarkable.]

Cordelia was curious about the rendering and had already decided to buy property in Edith Hills. She

wanted to see it for herself.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

"Are you coming or not?" Ronan asked, standing by the door.

Without a word, Cordelia grabbed her purse and followed him out. They didn't speak on the way.

Ronan seemed agitated, honking the horn impatiently at every red light—a rare display for someone

who was usually cool and collected.
