Chapter 2471 Floating Defense
Chapter 2471 Floating Defense
As the Beast Incursion dug deeper and deeper into human civilization, even greater upheavals began springing across the entirety of the portions that had yet to be touched. News of the horrors of the apocalypse that was consuming all of human civilization was spread by the Beggar's Sect in order to warn those who were unaware of it to get to safety before it was too late.
The unintended consequence was that it spread immense hysterias and panic across the entirety of human civilization. Once the average person learned of how many people had already died, it shattered all composure they had People were not rational in the first place, but they were especially irrational when they were terrified and horrified.
In the blink of an eye, the stability, cohesion, and order of human civilization dissolved at an extraordinary rate. Countless riots were born in the streets of numerous polities as the average person truly began feeling fear in the depths of the hearts.
The most common form of riots was the mass migration and exodus towards the heart of the nation where they were the most safe and secure, or so they thought.
Many left the nation and headed as far away from the Beast Domain as possible.
Of course, they never seemed to consider that the Beast Incursion always moved vastly faster than they did.
Yet, they were still fortunate in that they had the opportunity to run away.
There were places that couldn't afford to leave in a mass exodus or simply weren't willing.
"We will defend our floating island."
Senior Sarak's strong voice reached the thousand Squires that were assembled before him. "If we try evacuating now, we're as good as dead. None of you are fast enough to get anywhere before the Beast Incursion hits us. And frankly the odds of us surviving are slim to none, under those circumstances."
His eyes blazed with determination and willpower. "We must protect the Floating Sect at all costs. We must protect the Ajanta Floating Island at all costs, no matter what."
The air grew electric with peril as the Martial Squires steeled their will and determination.
The Martial Squires that fought in the Floating Sect tended to be particularly powerful and driven compared to average high-grade Squire. They were much more able to face the incoming crisis head-on with courage than turn around and run for shelter and safety.
"Good." Senior Sarak nodded. "Man the perimeters of the island, go!"
The Martial Squires disappeared in the blink of an eye as Senior Sarak heaved a sigh to cool his nerves.
"How are they?" The voice of a woman came from behind him. "…They are doing great, for now," Senior Sarak replied. "However, they have not seen the sheer scale of the Beast Incursion. None of them have. This will be a long, grueling calamity that will truly put to the test how strong their spirit is."
He turned his head towards the woman standing behind him. "Perhaps you should have stayed in the Kandrian Empire with your boyfriend, Xanarn."
She frowned. "He's an ex. We broke up many years ago. I left the Kandrian Empire for a reason and I'm not changing my mind."
"Be that as it may, he would keep you safe if you really wanted." Senior Sarak heaved a sigh. "With how strong the Kandrian Empire is, no singular force on this continent can break them. They can withstand the Beast Incursion. Perhaps you should consider rekindling old love."
She glared at him despite the fact that her eyes were closed.
"I'm kidding." He chuckled with amusement. "Still, it would be great if we had the Void Prince here. The mighty Dawnbringer would surely solve all our problems with a wave of his hand."
Over the past few years, they had heard much about Rui. Not only was he a royal of the Kandrian Empire, but he was also a powerful Master who was capable of miracles that nobody thought possible.
It was truly surreal to think about the fact that the Squire who had once arrived at Floating Ajanta Island went on to become one of the most powerful and influential figures in all of East Panama for a variety of reasons. Senior Sarak felt it was a waste for Senior Xanarn not to exploit this contact and try getting as much aid as possible from it to increase their probability of survival.
Regardless, they were out of time.
RUMBLE…
Both Martial Seniors grew grave as they felt heaven and earth rumbling under the weight of the impending onslaught of beasts and monsters. The tremoring was so intense that they could feel the air dancing all the way up in the Ajanta Floating Island.
"Have you confirmed that the Kaddar Treaty Organization has deployed its gravitic stabilizer?" Senior Xanarn inquired with a tense tone. "Yes." Senior Sarak nodded with a composed expression. "They may hate us, but they don't want the Ajanta Floating Island to be destroyed, lest a rain of meteorites destroy the Kaddar Region faster than the monsters and beasts could."
Upon learning of the Beast Incursion, the nations of the Kaddar Region agreed to deploy the gravitic stabilizer that made the floating island extremely stable and durable. This gave both parties a fighting chance to survive the incoming beast tide that was sweeping across all of human civilization.
RUMBLE
The two Seniors gathered at the edge of the island with a grim expression. "This…" Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
RUMBLE!!!
It was a horrifying sight.
At the distant horizon, a wave of darkness swept across the order of human civilization, spreading ruination everywhere it went.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!
"ROOOAAARRR!!!"
"KRIIIEEEKKK!!!"
"RAAAWWWRRR!!!"
A seemingly endless hoard of monsters and beasts emerged under the horizon in the east as the countless beasts and monsters ran into the powerful Martial Artists of the Kaddar Region that put together a strong resistance.
The floating island was not spared from this onslaught as countless winged creatures of power levels in the Lower Realms surged towards it with the intention to destroy everybody atop it.
And yet, they were impeded.
"ATTACK!" Senior Sarak roared.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!
Several Martial Seniors and a thousand Squires fought fiercely to protect their territory.
