Chapter 46 Who is torturing who (3)
The body spun and she was thrown onto the ground. Mia was flung until her face turned blue and her
head was dizzy. Her neck tightened as William raged like a wild lion in a bloody feeding frenzy.
Mia closed her eyes and gasped for air, she could no longer express her pain.
“You listen, Sophia is the best woman in this world. No one can curse her and definitely can’t harm
her!” With a push, Mia’s head was slammed against the wall.
The immense impact to her head left a blurred image. A bottomless pit, she continued to fall, continued
to fall…
“Brother, save me!”
William who turned to leave suddenly stopped and looked directly at her and his thoughts went back to
ten years ago.
“Brother, save me!” A pair of small hands reached out with two terrified eyes looking up. Sophia called
out pitifully. She was stuck in the manhole without any protection and could continue falling in.
She was supposed to save him but in the end, she fell in. The young William shook his head and
sighed, he endured his dizziness and reached out his hands. Two hands that had nothing to do with
each other would now be joined in life, forever.
He rushed forward and pinched her elbow. William yelled, “Mia, what did you just say, what did you
say?” He looked at the person in front and Mia violently spit out a mouthful of blood, “Kill me if you
can!” She tilted her head and fainted.
William’s heart sank and shook his head. No, it’s not possible. Sophia was beside him, this must be a
coincidence, it was all a coincidence!
He stood up and saw John coming over. William looked at Mia slumped on the floor and suppressing
his voice, ordered, “Take her back to the room and send someone to guard.”
Mia slowly woke up with a splitting headache and she was aching all over, her heart hurt even more.
She had never felt so helpless, no one believed her, no one bothered with her, there was only endless
torture and sufferings.
Her mouth still had the taste of blood. The shattered glass panel was replaced and the mirror reflected
a lifeless body. A bruised forehead with bloodied lacerations, swollen eyes, split lips, if it wasn’t for the
opened eyes, one could mistake her for a corpse.
It’s horrible, she couldn’t recognize herself. She closed her eyes and was exhausted and sorrowful.
She really wanted to die.
Her abdomen started to hurt but was not as intense as the rest of her body. She didn’t move and didn’t
care. She just laid like a dead person.
The door reflected in the mirror was opened and immediately she could hear, “Missus, be careful.” Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“You’re dismissed.” Sophia’s voice was soft but intensely triggered her senses and her body twitched
severely.
After a “yes”, the room became silent. Mia finally opened her eyes but didn’t move and saw Sophia
from the reflection. The reflection of Sophia was beautiful but pale, looking towards her.
The bed sank as she sat down, she pursed her lips, and then her beauty was replaced by a face of
sarcasm, “I already told you, no matter what you say, William will never believe you. Now, are you
convinced?”
She didn’t speak, she didn’t have the strength to speak and didn’t have anything to say to Sophia.
Two heartless people taking turns to torture her. Only through death can she escape. But then, she was
clearly the benefactor of Sophia. She unconditionally donated the first bone marrow transplant to her
and now they are waiting for the second donation. Doesn’t she feel the least bit grateful to her for it?
The room fell silent, Sophia didn’t look like she intended to leave.
After a while, she adjusted herself and laughed to herself, “Mia, how strange that we look so much
alike.”
She kept her eyes closed and didn’t bother with her.
Sophia didn’t bother and continued to speak, “What a pity that William only loves me, no matter how
much you look like me it is useless!”
She stood up and walked to Mia and squat down to look at the sorry state of her face and laughed. She
stretched out her hand and touched her swollen forehead and said softly, “Now you don’t look like me, I
like you just the way you are now.”
Mia bit herself several times and then slowly opened her eyelids and looked at her with full of hatred.
“You don’t have to look at me like that, these were all your own doing. I want you to remember forever
that getting onto William’s bed has its consequences to pay for!”
“It’s all you!!” Mia couldn’t keep her silence anymore. It was her that put her into William’s bed so why
did she turn around and hurt her, harm her?
Sophia’s expression turned cold and said in frustration, “Do you think I was willing to? To look for a
woman to bear a child with William? Mia, even an idiot won’t be willing to! The damn old woman kept
finding faults with me and forced William to divorce me. I was forced to do it!”
Really? Who else in this world can force her? Mia didn’t want to pursue these that had nothing to do
with her and closed her eyes again. Sophia was agitated, “I just want to fool those two old folks and
didn’t expect William to find you among those pile of photos! And you shamelessly seduced William in
front of me!”
“I didn’t…” She had never seduced William, it was all forced. Sophia simply couldn’t listen to what she
said and yelled furiously, “You did! William loves me so much and can’t possibly want you. How could it
happen unless you had seduced him!”
If that’s beyond dispute, then what’s there left to say? The pitiful Sophia, she doesn’t even know what
kind of person her husband is. Even more pitiful was William who still thought that his wife is a
compassionate and kind lady.
People of the same ilk like each other or perhaps both of them can’t distinguish between good or evil.
“Let me go.” Leaving was the best release.
“Impossible!” Sophia easily cut off her escape path, “I have not tortured you enough! Mia, how can I let
you go before savoring the taste of torture? Rest assured that I have lots of methods.”
These words made her hair stand and Mia’s body twitched and could feel the throbbing pain. She
smiled palely, “If you don’t release me, I will refuse to donate the bone marrow.”
“It’s not up to you!”
She gasped and leaned against the foot of the bed.
The two weak and sickly persons looked at each other. One was stubborn and the other was evil.
Mia composed herself and said with determination, “I will die and will never donate my bone marrow to
you!”
“You won’t!” Sophia was unexpectedly calm, “If you died, your best friend will suffer. I’ve overheard
William and your conversation.”
“…”
“Not only this, but your father will also die. Don’t think that these are empty threats. You’ve seen his
gun, William walks on both sides of the law. He can easily get away with killing one or two persons. Of
course, even if he doesn’t kill them, with his abilities, he will definitely give them a fate worse than
death!”
“…”
Mia didn’t speak. Each path led to a dead end. There was no way to continue like that.
Sophia leaned on the wall and walked out and very soon a voice said from the corridor, “Missus, please
be careful.”
The pain from her abdomen was more and more pronounced. It was cold, like being soaked in an ice
cellar but her body was flaming hot like a pile of fire. Was there anything wrong with the child? When
will someone come? Her hand rested on her abdomen and she felt hopeless.
The fire and ice were battling it out. Mia was weak and she was going in and out of consciousness.
Don’t mention about getting out of bed, she didn’t even have the strength to shift positions.
After an undetermined period of time, the door was opened and Rebecca walked into her side. Mia
forced herself to open her eyes and with all her strength said, “I beg you, save the child…”
“The fetus is very unstable, there’s a possibility of miscarriage. You need to let the mother rest and
recuperate. Also, don’t take unnecessary medicine. The child is already very weak. If you aren’t careful,
then a miscarriage is a possibility.” The doctor’s words drifted in. Mia lay exhausted on the bed. Her
limbs didn’t belong to her and a needle was in the back of her hand for the IV drip for nutrition and she
began to feel slightly better.
William walked in and Mia kept her eyes closed, unwilling to look at him. This feeling wasn’t good and
William stood frustrated by her side. His expression was dark and cold as a block of ice.
He spoke with words that were heartless, “You should have known better. If you don’t harm Sophia,
you wouldn’t be in this state.”
What was he talking about? The aggressor became the victim?
Mia was furious and wanted to yell but she totally didn’t have the strength. She closed her eyes and
pretended to be asleep. It was the best way to get rid of them.
William walked out angrily and slammed the door. She opened her eyes and was in peace. Mia scolded
herself, “Maintain your distance with these demons if you want the child to be safe.”
William walked upstairs and Sophia was on the rooftop garden playing on a swing. She had a smile on
her face and was in an excellent mood. He walked over and helped her push gently. He saw her
smiling face but thought about Mia’s pitiful state and face.
Sophia was joyful even when her illness was serious, she would think of ways to please him and let
him feel how important he was. What about Mia? On the surface, she was weak and beautiful but in
reality, she was like a raw persimmon, sour and tacky.
Why was he thinking of her! He shook his head to remove that stubborn person’s face from his
thoughts and concentrates on pushing Sophia.
Sophia turned around and her excitement flashed in her eyes, “Today James came to check on me and
said that I’m recovering well and can soon do the bone marrow transplant.”
“Really?” William wasn’t as happy as she expected. Mia hasn’t recovered…
“James said to capitalize on the opportunity and it was best that we do it these few days. He said that
my body is weak and can’t wait for too long. William, I think we should delay it since Mia is sick. It’s not
suitable to do it now.”
Sophia’s understanding moved William. He touched her nose and softly said, “You, why do you always
think about others? She just has a cold and shouldn’t affect the transplant.”
Sophia was his true love and Mia will leave after the bone marrow donation. They will go on their own
ways thereafter.
The balance was towards Sophia, he said firmly, “I’ll contact James and let him prepare for the
procedure tomorrow.”
“No, we should let Mia get better.” Sophia was overjoyed but continued the act. William was slightly
angry and pat her face, “I will decide, we’ll do it tomorrow! We can give Mia more money!”
“Okay.” She acted cute and obedient and nodded. She looked at William take out his phone to call
James. Her cute and beautiful face suddenly turned into a block of ice.
