Chapter 301
Chapter 301
Elizabeth noticed Patricia's blushing face and how Isaac was going to kiss her. They came at the wrong time. It would be nice if they came a little later so that they wouldn't disturb their private space.
Holding Patricia's hand, she placed it between her palms and smiled. "Tricia, it's been a while since you came to visit me. I miss you."
Patricia accompanied her to the couch, while Rose had a sweet smile on her face. "Hi, Patricia."
Patricia nodded slightly. Rose had a smiley face every time they met. Everyone found her adorable due to her harmless face!
"Old Mrs. Arnold, Miss Ortega, allow me to bring you some tea." She knew that Elizabeth loved tea, so she got up and left the room.
Isaac sat on his desk and took a call before signing a few documents. Then, he got up and walked to Elizabeth. He scanned the treats on the table; he wasn't a fan of them.
Sitting next to Elizabeth, he put his arm around her shoulders. "What brings you here today, Gran?"
Rose smiled at him and answered, "I asked Old Mrs. Arnold out for shopping today, then we bought strawberry cake. We brought it here for you as afternoon tea."
Only then did he glance at her indifferently, questioning, "Are you still not working yet, Rose?" It was
obvious that he was mocking her for being too idle.
Elizabeth was shrewd. She could tell his intentions through his tone. Smiling at her handsome grandson, she fixed his tie. "You haven't been coming home lately. Are you going to abandon me after getting a girlfriend?" Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
On the contrary, Rose wasn't upset at all. She knew how Isaac's character was. He despised almost everyone, hence his indifference toward everyone and his blunt speech. She fell for him just because of his personality.
"The new year is coming, so I'll only start work after that." In fact, she would just return to Ortega Group. She could leave or start work anytime she wanted!
Without uttering another word, Isaac glanced at the time. "Gran, I have a meeting to attend soon, so I can't make time for you anymore. How's Grandpa doing lately?"
Elizabeth knew he had been paying attention to Phillip's health all this while and was aware of his affection for them. He had always been a filial child.
The affairs involving his parents had always affected him. Therefore, he never mentioned his parents since young and was dependent on his grandparents only. Due to that, he developed a deep affection for them.
Phillip had been in a coma for six years, and throughout the years, he would accompany the old man whenever he had free time. He would talk to him, and sometimes, he would sleep in his room and take care of him.
Elizabeth smiled. "He's still the same, but maybe more child-like. He would point at your baby photos sometimes. Maybe, he misses you, but I don't understand what he's saying."
Isaac nodded at that. "I'll visit him tomorrow." With that, he got up and strode toward his desk.
He had another meeting to attend, and it was time for him to go to the conference room. At the thought of Phillip pointing at his baby photos and how he behaved before he fell sick, he thought Phillip might be hinting that he wanted grandchildren.
Isaac was the only one who could carry the bloodline of the family now, so Phillip had always been afraid of losing the family line. Hence, he had been forcing Isaac to get married and have children for a long time. That was also why he suspected Phillip was behind the incident six years ago.
Nonetheless, he had Patricia now. He was no longer holding on to the incident six years ago. All he wanted to do now was to cherish the present; the present that gave him a sense of realism just like the woman did six years ago.
Patricia then came in with cups of tea, while Isaac held the door for her. She raised her head and smiled at him. "Here's your coffee, President Arnold. Take it with you to the meeting!"
