Chapter 105
Kaia POV
"So I took the wolfsbane..." She slowly nods, her eyes closed as she rests back in the chair.
For so long she has been the villain of my story, but I'm seeing now I've been blaming the wrong person. She's just as caught up in this as me. She wasn't a monster, she was 16 when she went through something similar to me.
I can picture it now, both men trying to tear into her with sharp teeth each fighting to claim her as theirs. Not once stopping to ask what she wants, which one of them deserves her.....if either of them.
Not once did they think she was a 16 year old child needing parental help, that she needed support. She took the only way out that she could think of at the time...death.
She didn't have a family telling her no matter what happened they would love her, be there for her. She was the key to her new family's destruction. She was in an impossible position.
She was a just as much as a victim of these alpha's powerplay... these men that should know better. The alpha family should have protected her better.
"What do you want Alora, if not my organs?"
"I don't want your organs Kaia. I promise I didn't even know. I would never do that, never expect that. I signed my own death certificate when I drank the wolfsbane. I made my peace with the moon on that day, my soul laid out bare for her to witness. Me being here is a miracle gifted from the Moon Goddess, she has brought me to you to make amends."
"What of Than?"
"I love him...I can't lie, he is so deeply rooted into my soul that I'll never not love him. I just need to figure things out for myself right now....what is best for me."
It is on the tip of my tongue to tell her, to tell her that the pregnancy wasn't from love...wasn't from want. But I can't bring myself to say it, to utter the words themself.
She was hiding it well, but I could tell our conversation had taken a larger strain on her than she wants to admit.
"You should rest. I will send for a doctor."
"Yes I will rest, but there is no need for a doctor. I just want you to know, if we are related. That leaving this world, I do so without any regrets. I have so many as it is, but I am glad I am here...with you. And if possible to meet the parents I have never known..that you have been lucky to share a life with."
If we are related then she was right, I have been with Father most of my life...and she hasn't. She has been raised by strangers. But why... Father has never once mentioned of another baby.
"I will instruct my doctors to perform a blood test on the both of us."
"Really...that would be amazing."
But Alora, my Father has never once mentioned another pregnancy or child. Also, my Mother died in
childbirth, I have never known her. You mustn't let a fantasy wish get your hopes up. I wouldn't want you to be disappointed."
"I understand."
"Will you stay until the results are back and Father has returned?"
"Yes, I will do that."
I push on the mind-link to one of the warriors to let Freya and a member of staff in the office. Both were very quickly escorted back in by Samson. 1
Who had a face of pure thunder at my blocking him out.
"Samson, Alora will remain as a guest until my Father returns. Freya, can I suggest that you return back to the Amber Desert pack...I wouldn't want your mate to struggle with your disappearance." I suggest to Freya.
"Thank you Luna, but if I return...I will be asked where I was and I fear, I will not be able to lie to my mate directly in front of him." Yes she was right, Zane even back then was a jerk to her and I was impressed she managed to help Alora this far. As long as she willingly remained in this pack she would have my protection.
"Very well. If you could kindly settle them in please.." I request of the staff member before continuing with our new guest.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
"You should both rest and refresh, I will instruct some food to be made and then I will give you a small tour of the site." "Thank you Kaia."
"Thank you Luna." They both respond in unison standing up to leave the room.
"Oh and Alora.." I call out to her before she leaves the office.
"Yes Kaia.."
"Be prepared for some whispers and stares."
"I'm used to it, but thank you."
Yes I imagine she was, being which pack she has come from.
The staff member gestures for them to follow her where she will set them up in their own rooms. Once they leave Samson growls next to me, his hoarse voice annoyed for being shut out.
"I had no choice Samson. They will remain here for as long as needed. But you best inform the warriors to expect pack alphas knocking on the gate doors anytime soon. She won't remain hidden for long, and they aren't to be granted entry." "Understood Luna."
"Also, did Father leave a way of contacting him?"
Yes, for emergencies..."
en you need to call him...this is an emergency. He needs to come home."
