Chapter 801 To Question the Xia family
Chapter 801 To Question the Xia family
But Wendy had disappeared. Finn smiled and turned to leave.
"Did you hear?"
"What?" A man and a woman were talking next to a convenience store.
"Don't you know it? The president of Xia Group has an affair with her secretary, which seemed to have
been caught on camera."
"Really? Isn't she married?"
"My brother-in-law has some photos of them. That woman is the president. So what if she is married.
Perhaps her husband can't satisfy her."
The woman in her thirties did not shy away from the truth.
"Her husband seems to be a delivery man. So he is a kept man with no status at home. No wonder his
wife would cheat on him!"
The two people were very excited about the topic, and it seemed like the gossip was true.
Maura didn't know where that rumor started, but it had been spreading all over the city.
She had made the announcement as soon as she was informed of the news, and she would hold the
rumor mongers responsible.
But people would not care whether it was true or not. They only believed what they were willing to
believe, and the things like the beauty president cheating on her husband were what excited them.
"Ms. Xia, just leave that matter alone. It's a rumor, and if there is no follow-up, the rumor will die down."
Maura, sitting at her desk, was quiet upset.
She and Finn had not lived a quiet life since they moved out of the Xia family, and now the rumors were
spreading around the city.
"The announcement has been made. But the rumor mongers will not let it go so easily. I know them too
well. If they don't get what they want, they will not give up."
Finn arrived in City C at 7 am and got the rumor at 9 am. Just an hour after Maura's announcement, he
rushed to see Maura.
"Maura, are you all right?" asked Finn immediately when he met Maura.
Maura looked a little haggard, but when she saw Finn, she tried to cheer herself up so as not to look
too tired.
"What are you doing here?"
"I stayed overnight in Yanchin and then came over when I heard the news."
Maura knew what he was going to Yanchin for, and felt jealousy, but she still smiled.
"Great."
Finn was worried about her business and asked again, "What are you going to do with all those
rumors?"
"What else can I do? I can't shut those fellows up. They'll say whatever they want. I didn't do anything."
"Do you know who did it?" asked Finn.
"Who else will it be except my family? Since I left the Xia family, they looked down on us even more.
They think we couldn't live without the help of the Xia family, but now we are living better than them, so
some of them are jealous of us."
It was Finn who put forward the idea of breaking the family and living apart. He made them agree to it
on the condition that he paid a project fee of 500 million.
But Finn never thought they would be so ungrateful and did such evil things.
"Well, let's go. I'll take you home and question them."
When Finn was angry, the consequences would be serious.
But Maura shook her head. "They won't admit it. They must ask someone to do it. We have no proof."
"Just come with me."
He said as he took Maura away.
Maura suddenly felt warm in her heart. She hadn't had such a feeling for a long time and stared at Finn
blankly as he took her away.
When they arrived at the Xia family, the housekeeper at the door was surprised when he saw Finn
coming in with Maura.
"Where are they?" Finn demanded.
"They're all in the living room." The housekeeper did not know why he replied so directly.
Then they headed for the living room, and happened to see Hank coming out.
"You... Finn..." He was so surprised to see them.
Before Hank finished, Finn demanded, "Did you spread the rumor?"
"What?"
He was stunned for a moment, and then he knew what was going on.
"What are you talking about? I know nothing about that."
"I haven't said what the rumor is. Why are you in such hurry to deny it?"
Finn said coldly, staring at Hank's eyes harshly as if he could see through him.
"I... I've heard about it. Oh, don't ask me!"
Hank felt guilty. He returned to the living-room, not knowing what he wanted to do.
Finn ignored him and prepared to go straight in the living.
Maura tugged at him. "Shall we go in?"
"It's okay. I'll deal with it," Finn said, touching Maura's hand.
The door of the living room is opened, and the entire Xia family was all ready for Finn's coming. Maybe Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Hank had told them what happened.
"What are you doing here?" asked someone coldly.
Finn didn't even look at him. He scanned the Xia family and said solemnly, "I came here for one thing
today. I hope you can solve the things immediately. I don't want to handle it myself. Without Maura, the
Xia family is nothing in my eyes!"
The people could hear every word he said.
However, everyone in the Xia family looked sullen as they heard what Finn said.
But no one dared to question a single word what Finn said.
They knew how powerful and tough Finn was.
Hank wanted to say something, but was stopped by the man next to him.
Everyone looked at Finn and kept silent.
"That's it. I won't disturb you for having dinner. But I hope you can solve it as soon as possible," said
Finn.
The Xia family couldn't wait to send them away at once.
When they left the Xia family, Wendy said, "You are so strong. How can my parents and I face them in
the future?"
Maura was softhearted. She still took the kinship into consideration.
"Do you think they still treat you like family?"
Maura didn't know what to say and was silent.
Finn could tell Maura was afraid of losing everything when she forsook the kinship.
Finn comforted, "Maura, you are never alone. You have me and your parents."
