Chapter 1326 Like A Child

Chapter 1326 Like A Child

Benjamin closed his eyes. The familiar, soothing scent of her filled his nostrils. His body relaxed, and in no time, he fell asleep.

Arissa listened to his deep, prolonged breathing, turning her head to gaze at Benjamin's sleeping face for quite a while.

As she watched, her heartbeat began to quicken. This guy is really handsome. When he's asleep, he loses his sternness, making hearts flutter uncontrollably.

Arissa gently touched his nose. Benjamin reached out and grabbed her hand. Arissa thought he hadn't fallen asleep yet, but it turned out that his movement was just a subconscious one. Holding her hand, he fell into an even deeper sleep.

Arissa chuckled, finding Benjamin's behavior quite childlike and adorable.

When she came back to her senses and wanted to continue reading, she realized that only one hand was free. She had no choice but to put down the book and lie down on her side.

Quietly watching Benjamin sleep, tracing the contours of his face in the air with her fingers, she was thoroughly enjoying herself.

By the time Benjamin got up, she had fallen asleep. He leaned over and kissed her forehead, then carefully pulled the blanket over her before quietly getting up to freshen up.

Arissa had a long sleep that lasted until past three in the afternoon. It was the perfect time to freshen up, and soon, it would be time for the children to finish school.

“Darling, I'm up!” Not seeing Benjamin in the room, she made a call to him.

“Wait. I'll be right up!” Benjamin responded, then hung up the phone.

Arissa was lying in bed waiting. Before long, she heard the sound of footsteps running up the stairs. The corners of her mouth curved up as she focused on the doorway.

Benjamin strode in, his thin lips slightly lifted. “How long have you been awake?”

“I just woke up. How long did you sleep for?” Arissa saw him reaching out to hold her, and she also reached out to wrap her arms around his neck.

Benjamin thought momentarily and replied, “I probably slept for about an hour!”

He took a nap and woke up feeling quite energetic. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

Seeing his high spirits, Arissa laughed and said, “You'll need a nap at noon for work to be efficient!”

“Right!” Benjamin nodded in agreement. “When I came up, Dad and the others were in the kitchen, messing around with something. It smelled really good. I bet they're making food for you.”

Arissa took a sniff. There seemed to be a hint of fragrance in the air, and she chuckled with squinted eyes. “How do you know it was made for me?”

“I noticed Dad studying the recipe as soon as I got up at noon. He even reminded Edwin to pay

attention to the seasonings. If it wasn't for you, there would be no need to fuss over these details.”

Arissa laughed. “Or maybe it's made for Dad to eat!”

“That old man has always been a glutton, eating anything and everything when no one's watching. He wouldn't have the nerve to remind Edwin to be careful.” Benjamin scoffed.

Arissa gave him a humorous glance. “What do you mean 'old man'? That's your father! If the kids aren't close to you, they've definitely learned it from you!”

At this point, Benjamin couldn't help but feel a bit proud. “Who said the children aren't close to me? They all said goodbye to me this morning!”

Arissa chuckled lightly. If I were to follow them, they would surely wave at me instead of him.

Seeing her disbelief, Benjamin frowned. “I'll pick them up from school later. They'll definitely be happy!”

“Really?” Arissa looked at him skeptically. The children had only started getting close to him these past few days, probably feeling guilty about something they did wrong.

“Are you sure they aren't being nicer to you out of guilt?” she asked.

Benjamin's mouth twitched slightly, and he pinched her nose in annoyance. “I'll gladly take that!”

Regardless of the reason, the children had certainly grown closer to him.

Prior to that, he was still contemplating how to punish the little ones, but he had dismissed the idea. If I

punish them again, they probably won't get close to me anymore. I'll just let it slide this time. It's not really a big deal. In the future, I'll teach them more self-defense skills.

Seeing Benjamin's doting smile, which wasn't directed at her, Arissa found it amusing to watch him.

“Why are you smiling?” she asked.

The corners of Benjamin's mouth lifted slightly as he picked her up and carried her downstairs.

“Let's go for afternoon tea!”

“I haven't washed my face yet!” she said.

“I don't mind!”
